Can anyone tell me why some of the top referrers to my site are porn site?

We noticed today that 4 of the top referring sites are actually porn sites. Does anyone know what that is all about? Thanks!

I am almost 100% sure it is spam attack of your competitors. Actually you should better quickly disable those links or you can be penalized by Google

Hi there

It sounds like this could potentially be a spam attack. You should read this:
Negative SEO: Should You Be Worried? If Attacked, What Should You Do?

I would also look into a backlink audit, collect the data, and see which site you could possibly reach out for removal.

From there, I would take a look at Google's Report spam, paid links, malware, and other problems page and see if there is a way you can report this issue and these websites. You should also consider disavowing backlinks from these sites.

Site hacked in Jan. Redeveloped new site. Still not ranking. Should we change domain?

Our top ranking site in the UK was hacked at the end of 2014. http://www.ultimatefloorsanding.co.uk/ The site was the subject of a manual spam action from Google. After several unsuccessful attempts to clean it up, using Securi.net and reinstating old versions of the site, changing passwords etc. we took the decision to redevelop the site. We also changed hosting provider as we had received absolutely no support from them whatsoever in resolving the issue. So far we have: Removed the old website files off the server Developed a new website having implemented 301's for all the old URL's (except the spam ones) Submitted a reconsideration request for the manual spam action, which was accepted. Disavowed all the spammy inbound links through Webmaster Tools Implemented custom URL parameters through Google to not index the SPAM URLs ( which were using parameters) Our organic traffic is down by 63% compared to last year, and we are not ranking for most of our target keywords any longer. Is there anything that I am missing in the actions I have taken so far? We were advised that at this stage changing domain and starting again might be the way to go. Can anyone explain why and how these odd URLs could be working?

In our GWT and Google Analytics traffic reports, I often see some very oddly formed URLs. Here's an example http://www.ccisolutions.com/storefront/www.ccisolutions.com and here's another
http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category//www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/CEW.cat What strikes me about this particular URL is two things: It renders this page http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/on-disc-printing, but not with that URL, the URL stays http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category//www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/CEW.cat When I break this URL into pieces http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/CEW.cat
and www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/CEW.cat,
both redirect to: http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/on-disc-printing This makes me wonder, is there something (a rule?) in the
backend (maybe the .htaccess file?)that was set up that says http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/CEW.cat
= www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/CEW.cat
(or maybe vice versa?), and as a result an odd URL for the page is being
written automatically? This scenario worked on every category page I checked. All had the same results. For example, I tried: http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category//www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/AAA.cat
and it rendered the Live Sound category page, but without redirecting to the
user friendly URL. This URL stayed unchanged in the address bar When I broke it into pieces, like http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/AAA.cat
and www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/AAA.cat, both of these redirected to http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/sound-video-lighting-equipment-experts Have any of you ever encountered a problem like this? Google is keeping very old title tags in the SERPs for my site. How can I fix this?

Hi Around 6 months ago a site I work with changed its brand. One company became two. Despite changing the title when a new site went live around 6 months ago Google still picks up the old title for certain search results relevant to the old title. When a search result is relevant to the new title it shows that. It's very frustrating as we are trying to re-brand and do not want the old brand name showing for some very important search results. that the robots.txt is saying to ignore the entire site, but the

How much of an issue is it if a site is somehow connected to a site that was penalized by Google?

I am working with someone that is about to launch a new site, and one of the sites was affected by the Panda update. Does it matter if the two sites are connected? Share the same hosting provider and same Google Webmaster's account?
