How To Implement Breadcrumbs
-
Hi, I'm looking to implement breadcrumbs for e-commerce store so they will appear in the SERP results like the attached image.
In terms of implementing to a site, would you simply add HTML to each page like this Google example?
Which looks like this:
Then is there anything you need to do, to get this showing in the SERPs results e.g. doing something in search console. Or do you just wait into google has crawled and hopefully starts showing in the SERPs results?
Cheers.

Cesare has provided an excellent answer here IMO, I like the suggestions for other markups to target. I also strongly agree with finding a plugin to implement this markup, it will save you a lot of time.
In addition to his answer, here are a few other resources that I feel will help:
BreadcrumbList Schema Page: Find information on the different properties that you can include with this particular markup as well as an example that you can model your breadcrumb schema off of.
Structured Data Testing Tool: Use this tool to validate that your schema markup is free of errors.
Hope these help!

Hi,
This won't be enough. You have to add markup. Google recommends doing this with JSON-LD. JSON-LD has the advantage of not being visible on the site. You also don't need to mix it within your HTML. It would look like this:
Breadcrumbs in the SERP's are nice but they won't bring you the gold... This kind of formatting ( > ) is easily overlooked. Almost only people that know about it like you and me would notice it...
Personally I would rather focus on reviews/ratings: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/reviews (add the markup if you have already ratings for your products or make it easy for people to rate your products so you can include that later). --> Reviews/Ratings might appear with stars on the SERP's: this is going to bring you the gold CTR wise you will see.
You could also add markup for the products to make Google better understand about your products and and what their according properties are.
And/or add your logo and all the social media profiles on your Knowledge Graph cards: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/guides/enhance-site
Depending on the shop CMS system you are using you might even find plugins that help you doing that., e.g. https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/json-api/.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Cesare

Did We Implement Structured Data Correctly?
Our designer/developer recently implemented structured data on our pages. I'm trying to become more educated on how it works since I'm the SEO marketing specialist on the team and the one that writes and publishes the majority of our content. I'm aware it's extremely important and needs to be done, I just don't know how to do it yet. The developer was on our team for over a year, we recently let him go. Now, I'm going through all the pages to make sure it's done correctly. I'm using the structured data testing tool to look at the pages and have been playing with the structured data markup helper. I would REALLY appreciate it if one of my fellow MOZ fans & family can help me determine if it's done correctly. We do not currently have any schema plugs installed that I know of. So I'm not sure how he implemented the Schema code. I would like to know what I need to do moving forward to the additional content we publish as well as what to do to correctly implement Schema if not already. When I manually look at one of our FAQ pages I see multiple schema data formats detected... I'm not sure if we're supposed to have multiple or just one----> https://www.screencast.com/t/TjHphL7jsI I also noticed in the Question schema data for that same page... the accepted answer is empty. Json LD e-commerce site with Excellent implementation of all markup features
Hi all I am looking for some really good clear examples of sites that have excellent JSON LD markup. Not just the basics but packed to the teeth with markup for every element. I am particularly interested in e-commerce applications as I am re skinning our e-commerce platform written from scratch in house. It is far from perfect, not mobile friendly and well a bit backward but links into everything we have in a seamless way all the way to our manufacturing plant. Take a look have a little laugh and then take pity 🙂 https://www.spurshelving.co.uk/shop/shop.aspx Thanks Pete

Should I run 302 first before implementing 301?
I just want to ask if it is necessary to run 302 redirections first before redirecting old to new URLs permanently. I heard that we should run temporary redirects first so we can check after and to avoid passing the link juice but I want to hear thoughts from experts. Do i need to test 302s for old pages that are still live or should we redirect old URLs once these pages already removed from the site?

301 Re-direct Implementation & Its Possible Aftermaths
Hi all, I'm currently working on a domain that seems to be 'unofficially' blacklisted by Google. The reason behind my belief are, Ranking process of KW became stagnant. Current crawling and indexing rate has been decreased. Site performance deteriorate after every Search engine update or major data refreshes. And few major indications pointing out that search engines might started doubting its authority. The site is live n running for about 10+ yr and consists of 6000+ pages out of which 5000+ pages are indexed. The site also have some serious issues like, The site has been 2 times penalized by Google. The link ratio & inbound link quality of the site is quite unnatural (mostly directory links, links form spammy sites, bad-neighborhood links etc. ) The site is in flat file and not CMS, thus making it extremely difficult to maintain and update it. Due to the above reasons I was thinking of implementing 301 re-direction. I would like to redirect this poor performing existing domain to a new fresh one keeping the URL structure and files same and maintaining 1:1 redirection rules. I've read an awesome article by Danny Dover on 301 Re direction of a site here in SEOMOZ. It seems that if any one follow the steps mentioned there can actually get benefited by the overall re direction process. Now I'd like know your suggestion about following points: 1. Considering the factors that I've stated, do you think that it would be good to go with this re direction idea? 2. If 301 is implemented then what can be its immediate effects on current rankings and site performance? 3. Assuming that the ranks drowned or gets completely vanished from SERP, after what approx time period can be regain back? 4. Any other suggestion that might help me out to better understand the situation.
