Open graph tags
-
I’m in the process of developing a website and want to ensure the CMS can have OG tags set up and edit. I was going to add the following:
og: type
og :image
og:url
og:description
Are there any other open graph tags worth adding in?
Also in addition to open graph tagging is there any other social media sites etc that need to be accommodate for in my CMS, in terms of adding tags?, ie Instagram, Pinterest or LinkedIn.

Hi there! Great to hear you're baking this in from the start.
Open Graph is good to include, Twitter also has its own markup and schema could be a real help if you haven't already considered it. Have you read this post by Cyrus Shepard? It has a pretty comprehensive list of different tagging and some good examples.
Hope that helps!

Google+ Brand Page in Knowledge Graph
We've been unsuccessfully trying to get our brand's Google+ page listed in the Knowledge Graph for our brand. I believe that our markup on our website is correct. Can anyone advise on why we can't get this to pull up in the knowledge graph? Hello, I've just read... “Publisher tags should only go on the most significant page of your site, usually the homepage.” Is this correct?

Google 'Author' tag question (Guest Blogging)
Hi, It seems like im seeing more and more about the Author tag, its now in Webmaster Tools and Google+. If your guest blogging, is it a good idea to include the Author link back to your Google+ account? If your Google+ account is also connected to your website and Google confirms they can see the connection does the Author links help with ranking when you push them back to the connected Google+ account?

Identifying Social Activity of Competition in Open Site Explorer.
Analysing the competition in Open Site Explorer, as you all know the results come back with the following detail: Facebook Shares Facebook Likes Tweets Google +1 There is no link through to the pages that have liked, followed or tweeted the URL. I want to understand what the competition is doing in moire detail. How are these numbers actually defined? Is their any way (or whats the best way) to identify the individual pages that the numbers refer to? Thanks in advance. Justin

Facebook Shares and the rel="canonical" tag
We use canonical tags for multipart videos, using part 1 of the series as their canonical tag. The logic behind this is that if you have eight parts, it's better for part 1 to get all the link juice for the entire series, so that when someone searches for the main keyword, part 1 is the highest ranked part to appear in search results, and the link juice from every part is aggregated into that one page. The problem is the Facebook made changes to their URL sharing practices to reflect the canonical tag. So as long as the tag is used Facebook ignores the image and description from say part 2, and uses the description from part 1. Can this be waived by using Facebook Open Graph Protocol? Thanks!!
