External Sitemap Tool?
-
Can anyone recommend a good external sitemap generator (that is not also a tool owned by a search engine)?
I'm looking for a reputable tool that is independent of Google, Yahoo!, Bing, etc that will crawl, index, report problems, but also that will submit to the search engines. Would love to hear what other Mozzers recommend!

Hi Brent - Thanks very much for the resource!

You mentioned you did not want to use one provided by search engines.
This is by far the best list of both web-based and server side sitemap tools I have found to date,

Thank you Ryan - it looks like a great tool - I really appreciate you and Acorn both taking the time to reach out - and it's comforting you both are recommending the same tool - very helpful!

Woah, quicker on the draw! I yield to you, sir

Have you already tried www.xml-sitemaps.com ? It will crawl and generate a sitemap in whatever format you want.
However, in terms of reporting problems I've found the SEOmoz crawler and related tools to be invaluable.
You can save your sitemap in xml format from the above site, and use that to submit to search engines.

Thanks so much Acorn-Internet - I will check it out asap - thanks much!

If you've got less than 500 pages you can create a free xml sitemap here http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/

How do I predict quality of inbound link before using Disavow links tool?
I am working on Ecommerce website and getting issues with bad inbound links. I am quite excited to use Disavow links tools for clean up bad inbound links and sustain my performance on Google. We have 1,70,000+ inbound links from 1000+ unique root domains. But, I have found maximum root domains with low quality content and structure. Honestly, I don't want to capture inbound links from such websites who are not active with website and publishing. I am quite excited to use Disavow links tool. But, How do I predict quality of inbound links or root domains before using it? Is there any specific criteria to grade quality of inbound links?

Duplicate content across external profiles
As a B2B business, a lot of our traffic comes from referrals, especially from profile listings and high quality directories.

I am currently updating all of our listings with content that is relevant and representative of our business. The easiest way to do this is by using one boilerplate/ presaved profile. This would be using duplicate content, would I run the risk of discrediting these backlinks to my website and suffering and Google penalties?0 -
Has anyone had success disavowing old links or competitor spam links and should the disavow tool be used ONLY as a last resort?
One of our clients has some shady old links that we just recently discovered with a new link analysis tool. Not sure if they are harming the site or not but given the nature and verocity of the latest penguin updates we want to remove or negate their effects on the site asap. Thanks

Can't seem to submit my xml sitemap to Baidu, can someone help?
Hello Mozers and SEM's, I'm sure all of you know and understand the importance of uploading your sitemap to search engines. Once search engine in particular is Baidu. For some reason, i can't find a way to submit my link www.mysite.com/sitemap.xml. For Google, Bing, and Yandex it was easy, but Baidu is giving me problems. Don't tell me to "wait until they crawl your site", i have over 1000+ pages of unique content that those other 3 search engines found because of my sitemap; Baidu can't be that slow. Their robots only found 147 pages. 😞 If you take a look at the image attachment, you can see why I'm stuck, i can't read chinese! (and it's an image, so i couldn't translate it). Has anybody had any luck submitting their .xml link into Baidu? Can someone walk me through it? Let me know! Shawn xILP69w
