Moz Q&A is closed.
After more than 13 years, and tens of thousands of questions, Moz Q&A closed on 12th December 2024. Whilst we’re not completely removing the content - many posts will still be possible to view - we have locked both new posts and new replies. More details here.
How many people go to the Mozcon each year?
-
I'm attending for the first time this year and I am just curious as to what to expect with attendance, etc.
-
Any advice for first timers?
I'll be flying in all the way from Lisbon Portugal, so I'll have plenty of (flight) time to get perpared for the great gathering!
-
It is not surprising that attendance is growing. Last year was my first year attending but I can't imagine the circumstances that would keep me from missing one in the future.
I have attended dozens and dozens of conventions, seminars, training sessions, conferences, etc. over the years, but MozCon 2010 was by far the best event of its kind.
I will be sitting as close to the front as I can. Stop by and say hello.
-
Hi! Last year we had around 300 attendees and the year before that there were around 250. This year we're expecting around 400. So although it's growing, it's still a small enough number where you get to meet one on one with speakers, and many of the other attendees. Hope this helps! By the way we'll be posting the full agenda next week sometime on the blog. So be sure to watch for that as well.

Hi Jay,
So glad to hear you're coming to Mozcon! It's my first year coming as well, so I've dropped Jen Lopez a note and asked her to add a comment to this Q&A with more information about Mozcon and attendance. In the meantime, did you see this blog post from a couple of months ago? http://www.seomoz.org/blog/announcing-mozcon-2011

Thank you for the info and link. We are psyched about going and learning. Jay

Hi Jay,
It looks like Mozcon used to be called "PRO Training". In previous years, they typically had about 150 seats available. However, I don't see any information online that specifies the number of seats available this year.
Regarding what to expect, check a review that I found:
http://www.bryanphelps.com/2009/08/29/seomoz-pro-training-seminar-review/
Being that I've never attended, I hope that someone will reply with their first-hand experience.

Roger, Can You Please Help Get Me in Mozcon?
I am a newbie to amazing tools like Moz! Yup, I joined in December and there is no looking back and no regrets. Well, until now. Here’s my sad story. I have been hearing about Mozcon for months. And I have told a number of colleagues that I am definitely going to that! Especially since I have two reasons to go all the way to the Northwest in July… My 21YO son is a competitive snowboarder and video blogger living at Mt. Hood during the summer. I can visit him and go to Seattle for Mozcon.

When I checked the site for cost and tickets, the early bird incentive had already expired, so I figured I would pick up my ticket in July. I went ahead and booked the hotel and airfare from North Carolina. So, I am all set.
At the beginning of the month, I go to buy the ticket and they are SOLD OUT!
OMG!
I am already coming and there are no tickets for sale.
I had no idea that a workshop at the big Seattle convention center would sell out.
I know you guys are cool and that you have a super connected following, but SOLD OUT?
I had no idea. I wait listed myself, but I have heard nothing.
So… I am at the crossroads here…
ROGER! Can you please find just one more ticket for the newbie in North Carolina??
Please...
Please help if you can. So disappointed in NC~ Terry0 -
I'm trying to track down Jessica Bowman's Keyword Research ROI Excel template from this year's MozCon. Does it exist?
This presentation was awesome - and I've just encountered a pitch that would be ideal for this type of analysis. In looking through my notes from MozCon I don't see a download link - nor can I find one in the presentation. It was the 11:30 - 12:00pm timeslot on day 3 of MozCon: http://www.seomoz.org/mozcon-live/agenda Can someone point me in the right direction? Cheers, J

SEO MozCon 2012
Hello All, I'm new here in SEOmoz and I'm a Pro member. I currently have a couple of clients and growing. 🙂 My question is, I recently got an email about the SEO MozCon 2012 in Seattle going on in July. For those that have been to one of these in the past, can you tell me if this is worth the investment? Can you convince me why I should go? Thanks in advance! Jocelyn

Mozcon Sold out
Went to sign up for MOZcon last night and found it was sold out. I would have bought this many weeks or months ago, but I'm brand new to SEOmoz. I'm completely hooked and REALLY want to go to the convention. I signed up for the wait list and it states they are trying to expand the venue. What are the odds of that happening? Does anyone have any other ideas on how to get tickets?
