How many links per week is too fast in link building?
-
For a new website/blog how many links per week looks suspicious or hurt the rankings?
-
One problem with "building" links is that the more of them you acquire the harder they are to get.
-
There is no fixed number. The most significant factors are going to be threefold:
- What does your historical link growth look like? (obviously this doesn't apply to a new site)
- Will Google be able to correlate new link growth with an event? (Social promotion, press release, site re-design, etc.)
- The quality of the links you are building and the way in which they are built (anchor text, DA, PA, etc).
From what I've seen Google takes a baseline, a "normal rate of growth" for both your site and your niche. If you site has had steady or stagnant link growth for years, and all of a sudden you start building a ton of links, that can be a red flag.
For a brand new site, things are a bit different.
Google is going to try to determine, A. have other sites like yours grown this way, B. are these new links spammy or manipulative, and C. does your link growth correlate with something in the news, some social signal, etc.
Of course, at the same time your site will be analyzed from an on-site perspective as well, so if your on-site SEO isn't up to snuff, or you've got duplicate content or indexing issues, link building may not help much regardless of quantity or velocity.
So again, as EGOL said, there is no fixed number. Just try to see things from Google's point of view and keep your link building above board. If you use quality inbound marketing tactics to build links, you shouldn't see any problems.

Hmm - if you did 50 per week for 2 weeks then did 100 for 3 weeks and 150 for 4 weeks then you wont be looked at as spammy. Think of this: when do you think those links will get indexed anyway? It's best to keep a chart of what you did each day and come back and check to see if it's there or not. ( like blog commenting )
If you are doing blog commenting them maybe you can subscribe to responses as well. But like EGOL said: natural. As long as you're not using software to build links then you will be fine. The question is: How many links CAN you build a day?
-
Lots and lots of people ask this question... but think about it....
If I answered... "Fifty links is too many."..... and you listened.....
.... but all of the websites on the first page of Google for your keyword were naturally earning 200 per week.... you could work forever and never make first page.
You need information about relative link velocity and link quality.
It is possible that you and three other people working would never be able to create enough links.

Link building with PDFs
I created a manual for a popular piece of equipment and placed it, as a PDF-file, on my website. The PDF contains a clickable link to the root domain of my website. Other websites have downloaded the PDF and put it on their own website, hosting it themselves. Since Google indexes PDFs, does the link in the PDF count as a regular 'link' from an external website, and does it have comparable value? Can't find any thoughts or studies about this anywhere.

DA vs PA when building links
When building links to your site from other sites, what is more important or what weights more heavily? Say a site has a DA of 20 and PA of 34 for that page I want a link from. Say another site has the revese, a DA of 34 and a PA of 20. All things being equal, which site's link to me would be better? The one with a higher DA or the one with a higher PA for the on the specific page I would get a link?

Link Building Ideas?
Hi everyone, I am currently working on a site where people can buy mail-order bagels, i.e. the bagels are shipped via postal mail. It's a good alternative for places that have no good bagel stores nearby, especially in small, rural towns. I am about to launch a link-building campaign for the website, but am a little stuck as to where to begin. My first thought was guest posting, but it seems like the vast majority of food blog owners are very protective of their blogs and rarely, if ever, allow guest posts. I also thought about doing sponsored reviews (i.e. sending mommy bloggers free samples in exchange for a review), but that's essentially a paid link, i.e. a no-no. There are of course generic web directories, but those only get you so far, and article marketing is out of the question (too spammy). Was hoping I might be able to bounce off some ideas off of you all. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance for whatever tips/ideas you might be able to share 🙂 Lukas

How Many Backlinks Per Day
I am starting to do some manual back-linking for a medium competition word with high traffic. I plan to start back linking with like niche blogs with non spam comments, like niche directories, like niche forums, and guest blogging. My domain is over 3 years old and ranks for multiple keywords, but I'm going to concentrate specifically on this keyword, but need to know how many links to back-link a day. Again none of these will be spam, but will be of real quality. I was thinking 10-20 a day, but unsure.

Too many links in my blog post created by comments. Should I worry?
Every year, we do a popular "Favourite pictures of the year" contest where people vote on the best picture (i.e: their mate's) in order to win something. But I just found that I'm going way over the "Too many links" limit and I think it's because of all the comments. 1. Is it a problem 2. Is there a way to de-activate the links? Thank you! 🙂 Ioan

Is it important to have a geo modifier for local SEO link building?
If anyone here is familiar with local SEO, you may have noticed that there are different local results for: "city + Keyword" and just the "keyword". When building links will you end up targeting both with a geo modifier in the link, or is it beneficial to build links without the geo modifer for the keyword?

Building Links to Exact Match Domains
What are the pros and cons having exact match domain and how can you create a brand name and build backlinks? Say we have a domain personalizedbirthdaygifts.com We are quite stuck with what anchor text we need to use and how do we vary it? I've heard that we have to stay away from using commercial keywords as anchor text heavily. We have to also use our brand name. And here we get stuck as we don't have a brand name. In this case Our brand name should be personalized birthday gifts but this is also commercial keyword. I have seen before similar websites droped from ranking because they have commercial keywords in their domain and most of their backlink anchor texts are commercial. If I had a website called twentyfive.com selling birthday gifts it would be a lot easier. But when you have a website personalizedbirthdaygifts.com and trying to rank for personalized birthday gifts and birthday gifts it's tough. OR isn't it? I hope I explained it well and didn't confuse anybody... Thanks
