Are you using ArticleBase.com for link building?
-
I'm digging my way through my competitors' link profiles on OSE and came across one that had been using a site called ArticleBase.com
Apparently you can publish articles for free and browse other published articles for usage on your own site (provided you follow their TOS). It actually seems like a nifty idea.
I'm wondering if anyone has utilized this site for re-publishing content and building external links.
Worth the effort?
Thanks!

Tbiz,
Write an article. Publish in that article directory. Wait 1 month and see the result. Dont let others affect ur own experiments.

PP

ha ha... thanks for the laugh.
-
Haha, I had to laugh at your last point, Marcus.
I had the same initial feeling, however, I think Rand makes a really awesome point right near the end. It's not necessarily a moral issue, but rather what ELSE you could be doing with your time than spinning articles to these directories.
I would much rather use that time to start connecting with other bloggers in my space and start building those relationships for future guests posts and links that will last a life-time.
It's hard for me as a SEO noob... the low hanging fruit is tempting and deceptive. I'm just glad the community is here to guide us.
Thanks!

If you are submitting unique content then to the top tier directories then I don't see any problem with it. You should gain some link juice and chances are, if your article is of sufficient quality, your site should attract some visitors. Judging by that Whiteboard Friday, Rand completely disagrees. Who you going to believe, me or the founder of SEOMOZ?!!
-
Anjon,
Thanks for the link. I've been working my way through the whiteboard Fridays but hadn't gotten to this one yet.
I just watched it and won't be submitting any articles to the site, thanks!
-
No I wouldn't use article directories.
I think you should watch this whiteboard Friday:

Hope you find this helpful

DA vs PA when building links
When building links to your site from other sites, what is more important or what weights more heavily? Say a site has a DA of 20 and PA of 34 for that page I want a link from. Say another site has the revese, a DA of 34 and a PA of 20. All things being equal, which site's link to me would be better? The one with a higher DA or the one with a higher PA for the on the specific page I would get a link?

How do I find and can I trust link building companies
I'm finding it hard to build quality links. I don't want to employ a link building company as I can't find anyone I can trust. I also don't know what is a realistic rate of pay for link building work.

Link building for a product review site
I'm doing SEO for a product review website, and I'm curious what link building opportunities are best for this category. Assume only the following: The website is basically a blog Most of the articles are reviews on cosmetic products, though there are also articles regarding news, product roundups, tips&tricks and similar content The website is in a local, non-english language Disregarding low-value opportunities such as directories, what kind of websites should I aim for outreach purposes? So far, I'm thinking the following: Product manufacturers (very low success chance, as the review site is fairly new and in a localized language) E-commerce sites selling the products (average to low success chance, since a lot of them use CMSes that might not allow integration of a review) Other cosmetic blogs, particularly for guest blogging (average to low success chance, since the website is fairly new) Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

Is it important to have a geo modifier for local SEO link building?
If anyone here is familiar with local SEO, you may have noticed that there are different local results for: "city + Keyword" and just the "keyword". When building links will you end up targeting both with a geo modifier in the link, or is it beneficial to build links without the geo modifer for the keyword?
