Does Commented HTML Code Get Spidered?

I have a change, perhaps temporary, to my web store that I will be making. I am wondering if the code that I will comment out () gets spidered?

Hi Larry, that was a great question. This is why I love SEOMoz.org, there is always something to learn. I had never thought seriously about this question before, as I web developer I just figured it if I commented out html I didn't have to worry about it being crawled. After reviewing the responses I can see there may be a tad more to it then that.

There is a possibility that Google will crawl a link in comments, it's happened before with comments in Javascript. However, it will not have any impact at all from an SEO perspective.

Crawlers ignore comment tags. They do not have any SEO impact.

Let's say you're writing a homepage title tag like this: KEYWORD | BRAND and Google rewrites it as BRAND | KEYWORD From Moz and best practices, we believe that keywords closer to the beginning of a title tag may have more impact on search rankings. So, when Google rewrites the title tag, do you get the impact you would have made with the keyword being closer to the front? Hi there, I noticed in Bing Webmaster Tools that we get the following for the home page.These pages have 400-499 http status code. Ensuring http status 200 might help improve SERP performance and gain user traffic.I haven't seen this before, nothing comes up in Moz or Google Webmaster Tools about it.Is it worth spending time on resolving the issue, I don't see how it affects us as the page loads up perfectly but I don't understand the error.The error shows up for our home page, https : // wwww domainname comWhen checking here we get green ticks for everything sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html

How to get a mobile thumbnail image next to the search result?
Hey! I noticed the last few months that a lot of google searches now show an image next to your result when on mobile. i managed to get my listing to show an image before but I made some changes to the image and site and can’t seem to get Google to ahow the new image (or any image). I’ve added the image to schema mark up and still no luck. Wouod ahyone have any advice on how to get the image picked up, or st least help increase the odds? Do you need to include the top menu on every single page of the site in the code?
When using cache: on google, and clicking on Text-only version, our site has the top menu gibberish on top? My feeling is that this take away SEO juice from our title and focus keyword. Our website is culinarydepotinc.com

Is the HTML content inside an image slideshow of a website crawled by Google?
I am building a website for a client and i am in a dilemma whether to go for an image slideshow with HTML content on the slides or go for a static full size image on the homepage. My concern is that HTML content on the slideshow may not get crawled by Google and hence may not be SEO friendly.

No follow for html sitemap?
Hi, I have been working on an e-commerce site and have been wondering if i should add the meta robot tag with no follows, on pages like delivery , terms, returns and the html sitemap? From what I have read this seems a good idea, but i am a little confused as what to do with the html sitemap. I can understand that having this on the homepage will allow crawlers quick access to the deeper pages within the site. But would it be better to guide them down the natural route of the category navigation instead? Thanks

Page title getting cut off in SERPS even though it's under 70 characters?
I re-wrote the page title of a home page for a site I'm working on and made sure it's under 70 characters (68 to be exact) to comply with best practices and make sure it doesn't get cut-off in the SERPS. It's still getting cut-off though and right when it gets to the brand/website name. Does a "-" have anything to do with it? Does that translate to an elipsis? Format: keywords - website/brand.com Can anybody tell me why this would be happening?
