Does Commented HTML Code Get Spidered?

I have a change, perhaps temporary, to my web store that I will be making. I am wondering if the code that I will comment out () gets spidered?

Hi Larry, that was a great question. This is why I love SEOMoz.org, there is always something to learn. I had never thought seriously about this question before, as I web developer I just figured it if I commented out html I didn't have to worry about it being crawled. After reviewing the responses I can see there may be a tad more to it then that.

There is a possibility that Google will crawl a link in comments, it's happened before with comments in Javascript. However, it will not have any impact at all from an SEO perspective.

It means the content between comment tags won't get spidered.

Crawlers ignore comment tags. They do not have any SEO impact.

Let's say you're writing a homepage title tag like this: KEYWORD | BRAND and Google rewrites it as BRAND | KEYWORD From Moz and best practices, we believe that keywords closer to the beginning of a title tag may have more impact on search rankings. So, when Google rewrites the title tag, do you get the impact you would have made with the keyword being closer to the front? Or, does Google give you the impact you would have received with the keyword being at the end?

Do you need to include the top menu on every single page of the site in the code?
When using cache: on google, and clicking on Text-only version, our site has the top menu gibberish on top? My feeling is that this take away SEO juice from our title and focus keyword. Our website is culinarydepotinc.com

Page Title & Meta Description Getting Cut Off In The SERPs
Hi Guys, I am trying to figure out why my page titles and meta d tags are getting cut off in Goofle SERPS. My page titles are 70 characters or under (including spaces) and my meta Dd's are 155 characters or under (including spaces) so I cannot work out why They are getting cut off. Does 'XXX' in Domain get filtered by Google
I have a friend that has xxx in there domain and they are a religious based sex/porn addiction company but they don't show up for the queries that they are optimized against. They have a 12+ year old domain, all good health signs in quality links and press from trusted companies. Google sends them adult traffic, mostly 'trolls' and not the users they are looking for. Has anyone experienced domain word filtering and have a work around or solution? I posted in the Google Webmaster help forums and that community seems a little 'high on their horses' and are trying to hard to be cool. No follow for html sitemap?
Hi, I have been working on an e-commerce site and have been wondering if i should add the meta robot tag with no follows, on pages like delivery , terms, returns and the html sitemap? From what I have read this seems a good idea, but i am a little confused as what to do with the html sitemap. I can understand that having this on the homepage will allow crawlers quick access to the deeper pages within the site. But would it be better to guide them down the natural route of the category navigation instead? Thanks
