      Once upon a time, we were able to check in at our office on Facebook.  Then, one day, we just...couldn't.

      I didn't (at least intentionally) change any settings on the page.  I can't seem to even find a setting for this.  What happened, and how do I fix it?

              Hrm. That's very odd since you changed your business stuff, it's not showing on your page as changed. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what exactly is going on. It looks like to me -- from reading Facebook's dev forums -- that you're not the only one with this problem and that Facebook itself hasn't come out with a solution or answered anyone's questions. I'll poke around some more and keep my eye out, but unfortunately, I'm not really sure how to fix this.

                    So I'm still seeing your category as "Travel & Transportation" not "Local Business." I've attached a screenshot of where you need to make it a "Local Business" in the categories in settings in order to enable check-in functionality.

                            In order to have check-ins on Facebook, you must have the category of your page listed as a "local business." Currently, it's set at "Travel & Transportation." I'm not sure how long it takes once you switch it over to get back the check-in ability.

                                Hmmmm, I'm not aware of an update that we haven't done.  We did change our address, but this problem started MONTHS before we moved.

                                I edited the original question to include the url.  It is https://www.facebook.com/LegacyTravel

                                Sorry, I should have included it to start with!

                                  Did you upgrade or not upgrade your page, i believe Facebook went through an update a while back, maybe you missed it? Did you change your address? can you leave the url in here so we can look?

                                    Is there a Bug or other problem with Facebook Page 'invite friends' feature ?

                                    Hi Im trying to use the invite friends feature on Facebook pages to send a page invite to some email contacts, as per #3 in this SME recent post of FB tips: http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/five-lesser-known-facebook-page-features-for-marketers However whenever i click the 'invite friends' option the dialogue box swirls for a bit then disapears and nothing whatsoever happens, not just not being able to see invite email options but nothing at all happens, the loading box just disapears. Does anyone know if this is a current know issue bug or other way of doing this so it works ? (I have tried on 3 different pages) Many Thanks Dan

                                    Facebook Page - About/Description/General About/Mission - Questions

                                    Hi, Im just setting up a FB fan page for a client How terrible is it to use clients websites home page descriptive copy as the Facebook page long description ? Language is in Turkish which i don't speak so i'm not able to edit a new version of it just for FB and no budget to hire Turkish speaker to come up with something. So was going to copy & paste but that would be duplicate with HP obviously. How important is it to fill in 'Mission Statement' & 'General About' ? Especially if long description likely to already include that info ? I think long descrip is important for FB pages on seo etc etc but a good one eliminates importance of 'Mission' & 'General About', or is it still advisable to fill these in or are they just extra boxes for flexibility ? I take it when it comes to securing a vanity url (once we hit 25+ fans) for a foreign language version FB page it should ideally be brand name (which includes a keyword) in the local/target language ? The page name is already the brand name in English but since contains keyword is it best to rename into local target language similarly to the url for consistency and local targeting or better to keep one in Turkish and one in English ?                                     Facebook adds a trailing slash to urls?

                                    Hey Guys, we are facing a problem in our www.batuta.com with Facebook shares. Seems like because we choose to set our preferred canonical version urls to end with a trailing slash ( / ), like this one e.g.: www.batuta.com/الوجهات/إسبانيا/ Facebook adds automatically another ( / ) when trying to read the url on first share before its ever indexed in FB. Which makes Facebook think its a bad request! cause then the URL has two // at the end of it. hope this was clear. anyway, so first question: did anybody face this issue before? any solutions? Second, and might be more important: I might be forced to face the option of changing the canonical tags to be a url without a ( / ) if I will have to do this I will enforce a redirect on every url request with an ending trailing slash ( / ) to be redirected to the new canonical version without. will this be enough? how big am I supposed to suffer here? am I facing a long time with double indexed urls? wonder if anybody faced this problem before!                                     Facebook Outreach Tips - what to say

                                    Hi, I've been shown how to do facebook outreach in my home town. I am a weight loss hypnotist. I was shown how to do outreach to possible home town clients using the facebook search feature. I go to the search and type in "Friends who like weight loss" And I get a couple of friends who have liked a major weight loss site After I've done that search, I look to the right in facebook. It has a bunch of dropdowns. I choose the same search parameters except I change it to "Live in Boise" (my town) and "Not my Friend". I get dozens of facebook users who live in Boise and are not my friends and are interested in weight loss. I can message these people (less than 30 a day) Here's the problem: I don't want to spam them. How do I get these people interested in my weight loss hypnosis program (I could really help them) by sparking up a conversation and not spamming. Everything I can think of saying seems manipulative. I don't know how to start a conversation and invite people to come in for a free sample session. My free sample session is 30 minutes and is free just to see if the client and I are a good fit.                                     Is Pinterest's Embed a Pin good for SEO?

                                    I was curious if by having Pinterest embed pins on my site will add SEO value... This would be used mainly on product pages for alternative images, closeup detail, any type of image to answer a customers question. I would accompany the pin with more text as another way of adding content to the page. Example on my site: Wicker Sofa product page with Pinterest Embed live. Also attached the screenshot of the code that is used by Pinterest pin embed widget. Hoping that extra unique content + social activity repins or follows, would help my store's SEO.                                     How do I track my Facebook page rank?

                                    Hey guys, Probably a newbie question, but I'm wondering if there's a way to track Facebook (or other offsite profiles that I own) pagerank along with my domain? I'm working on a project right now where I noticed we're not on the front page for our search term, but our Facebook page is.
