No meta description on category page

Hi Moz is reporting no meta description on a wordpress category page like this one:

Can I add a meta description to a category?

I noindex my tags and archives, but there is also a Yoast setting for those, same place but under "Other" rather than "Taxonomies".

There is a really good mozinar about Advanced Wordpress SEO: http://moz.com/webinars/advanced-wordpress-seo
I know it is from 2013, and it might not look fresh, but I remember listening it and getting a lot of good tips on how to handle your wordpress website. (Also tags, archive pages, etc.)
It is less than one hour, and it does worth watching it.
I hope it will help you identify and resolve these issues on your website.

In Yoast, you use a wildcard that slightly switches up the description for each category, like this: "Archive of posts categorized %%term_title%% in my blog, "Wonderful Blog."

If I set it in yoast wont I have duplicate metas?
in posts-categories is the description beneath the 'parent' tab the right plkace to do it?

If you have Yoast (SEO Plugin) you can do that in the settings. (Choose Titles & Metas, then click on the Taxonomies tab.) You can also do it directly, under posts > categories.

Category pages, should I noindex them?
Hi there, I have a question about my blog that I hope you guys can answer. Should I no index the category and tag pages of my blog? Will it upset Google if I aggregate product page reviews up into a product category page?
We have reviews on our product pages and we are considering averaging those reviews out and putting them on specific category pages in order for the average product ratings to be displayed in search results. Each averaged category review would be only for the products within it's category, and all reviews are from users of the site, no 3rd party reviews. For example, averaging the reviews from all of our boxes products pages, and listing that average review on the boxes category page. My question is, will this be doing anything wrong in the eyes of Google, and if so how so? -Derick

Meta descriptions for subpages in the SERPs
Hey Mozzers! Something occurred to me the other day was that, while we can write title tags and meta descriptions to be within the character count and therefore appear nice and neatly in the SERPs, when Google et al decide to pull subpages out as further site links, it seems to still pull the normal meta description but with a far lower character count. As this looks untidy and could potentially impact CTR, is there a way I can amend the preferred text for the shortened version, via Webmaster Tools, for example? Thanks in advance for your help! My Meta Description changes when i use different keyword in google search.
Hello everyone, I have a question for the community. I have a website with several articles and news that i manage. I set specific meta descriptions for every page but when i search in google it gives me back different meta descriptions depending on the keyword that i use to search. What i notice is that google looks in my page for the most relevant part of the text that combines with my keyword and gives me back that result. Hi, I saw my website have a problem about meta language, I do some search and found that I need to add on the , with 'll' is language code and 'cc' is country code. Does keyword at the very front of meta description have impact?
I know that it is important to have your primary keyword target as the first word or two words of your title tag. But what about your meta description tag? does it matter where they keyword is in the description tag? I see a lot of other sites stuffing their keywords right at the front of the description tag and it looks somewhat unnatural. What's your take? do you put the primary keyword as the first word or two words of your description tag?
