How To Track Backlinks?
-
My question is about competitor analysis.
How can we track the outbound links of any website that is our competitors. -
@SabaSonia
To determine whether a link on a website is "nofollow" or "dofollow," you can inspect the HTML source code of the webpage. Right-click on the link and select "Inspect" (or similar option depending on your browser). Look for the anchor tag <a> associated with the link. If there's an attribute rel="nofollow", it's a "nofollow" link. If there's no rel="nofollow" attribute, it's likely a "dofollow" link. Alternatively, you can use browser extensions or online tools that highlight nofollow links on a webpage for easier identification. @pakistansites2 For tracking competitor outbound links, explore tools such as Ahrefs or SEMRush to conduct thorough analysis. These platforms offer valuable insights into competitors' backlink profiles, enabling you to pinpoint outbound links and evaluate their strategies effectively. Unsolved Struggling to recouple backlinks that lead to 404 after a redesign launch
We had a site redesign launch a few months ago. Due to other priorities / a lot of things going on, there were a decent amount of URLs that 404ed. We implemented a drupal module search404 to redirect all of these to the homepage or a search results page that pulls search terms from the 404 page. Our goal is to recoup SEO value since we saw a notable dip in domain authority and amount of links after launch. We know a catch-all automated solution like this isn't ideal because it's better to 301 each page to its most relevant live page. For example, if CNN.com links to our Texas location, it's better to 301 to our new texas page than a homepage or search page. The problem is that since we implemented this catch all search404 module, it seems like tools like Moz Pro and Screaming Frog are not picking up the backlinks from external sites that 404 since they were "fixed" by the search404 module. Any ideas on solutions? We're trying to avoid tedious or risky solutions like undoing the module, which may bring back the 404s but cause some UX and SEO issues so we can run a SF crawl. Or going through every link in our link profile manually to check.

I want to know about the Impact of Do-follow backlinks and No-follow backlinks for increasing DA.
Have Do-follow backlinks and No-Follow backlinks same value to increase Domain Authority in Moz? Recently, I have created 290 profile backlinks which was do-follow. But from yesterday I have seen all backlinks are no-follow now according to the decision of sites' owners. My site's DA has already increased up to 35. Will this DA fall gradually from now? Apart from it, if I have created same backlinks for my another site; will my DA be 35? Please try to clarify it. My site is: Homeworkpaper.net Thanks. Waiting for your valuable answer from Moz official.

Why Moz Doesn't See or Count Our Backlinks?
Hi Moz Community! We have been working hard to improve our Moz metrics, measuring against a high ranking competitor to help us set our goals. Our Majestic and Webmaster Tools find tens of thousands of external backlinks pointing to our domain. That's all well and good. Moz's Open Site Explorer, however, only finds 900 total links - including internal links! This being the case, we have worked diligently to build a variety of great external backlinks, creating Bitly links and encouraging clicks on those through social promotion. Yet, our competitor has over 7,000 external backlinks in Moz's index, while ours is not growing relative to their number of backlinks. Can anyone share with us what they do to tell Moz about their backlinks? We already know we have many more backlinks than our competitor, from trusted domains with good authority, yet it seems Moz is not discovering them. We just want to understand how to use these Moz metrics to create meaningful calls-to-action. Otherwise, it seems like a gargantuan waste of time, and our team has difficulty getting buy-in from our company to put time and assets toward tasks based on our Moz numbers!

Backlink profile not current
How often are the backlink profiles updated? I'm researching competitor backlinks to add to our own link profile but it doesn't seem like not all the links are current. So how am I supposed to know which links are current and which have been erased? Can anyone please guide me though using the advanced filters CSV reports? I requested a report and got a blank excel spreadsheet. Please give me an example of what kind of things I should be searching for.
