Thank you so much for posting this question! I've been working on backlinks - in most of the avenues listed here in this post for about 6 months. I would say that slow and steady seems to be the way it just works. I do try to post links to backlinks on Pinterest. It is just another way to get the backlink noticed more quickly. Since I'm a photographer, I post the photos and the the link. (https://angelafousheephotos.com/richmond-wedding-photographer)

Guest blogging and social media can be very effective for your niche. While the "easy" part is subjective, social media is often more straightforward to manage.
Think outside the box. For example, using QR codes can also be beneficial for backlink building. QR codes allow you to share links to your website or other online content with a physical audience, which can increase your site's visibility. You can make a QR code and share it on social media, include it in email newsletters, or use it in other marketing campaigns to drive more traffic to your site.
On the other hand, guest blogging requires a significant investment of time and effort. You'll need to develop a strategy, which may involve hiring a writer or an agency to do the outreach for you. This approach can be highly effective but requires a decent budget and a long-term commitment to see results.

Here are some effective SEO backlink strategies for link building in 2024:
Content is King (and Queen):
Create Link-Worthy Content: This is the foundation. Focus on high-quality, informative content that resonates with your target audience. Think in-depth guides, data-driven research, or unique infographics. https://seranking.com/blog/seo-infographics-101/ Content that educates, entertains, or solves problems naturally attracts backlinks.
Target Long-Form Content: Longer content allows for deeper dives into topics, establishing your expertise. This makes your content a valuable resource that other websites are more likely to link to.
Strategic Outreach:
Targeted Outreach & Strong Pitches: Research relevant websites in your niche. Craft personalized emails pitching guest post ideas that complement their content and benefit their audience.
Broken Link Building: Find broken links on relevant sites and suggest your high-quality content as a replacement. It's a win-win: you get a backlink, they fix a dead link.
Respond to Journalist Requests: Use platforms like HARO (Help a Reporter Out) to connect with journalists seeking expert sources. Quoted content with a backlink is a great way to build authority.
Build Relationships & Get Creative:
Unlinked Brand Mentions: Search for mentions of your brand online that don't have a link back to your site. Reach out politely and request a link addition.
Digital PR: Generate buzz around your brand through newsworthy content or innovative campaigns. This can attract backlinks from news outlets and industry publications.
Remember, focus on quality over quantity. Backlinks from high-authority, relevant websites are more valuable than a bunch of random links.

To build quality backlinks, focus on creating valuable content, guest blogging on reputable sites, engaging in industry forums, leveraging social media, and establishing relationships with influencers and other relevant websites.

Here are some strategies for building backlinks:
- Reclaim unlinked mentions
- Guest blogging
- Guest posting

Broken URL Links
Hi everyone, I have a question regarding broken URL links on my website. Late last year I move my site from an old platform to Shopify, and now have broken URL links giving out 4xx errors. When I look at Moz Pro>Campaigns>Insights>links, I can see the top broken URL links, however there is a difference if copy & paste URL directly from Moz Pro and by Export CSV file. For example below, If I copy and paste links direct from Moz Pro, it has the “http://” in front as below: http://www.thehairhub.com.au/WebRoot/ecshared01/Shops/thehairhub/57F3/1D8F/D244/C675/E27D/AC10/003F/35AD/manic-panic-colours.jpg But when I export the list of links as an CSV file, the http:// is removed. www.thehairhub.com.au/WebRoot/ecshared01/Shops/thehairhub/57F3/1D8F/D244/C675/E27D/AC10/003F/35AD/manic-panic-colours.jpg Another Example below: By copy & paste URL direct from Moz Pro

thehairhub.com.au/Shop-Brands/Vitafive-CPR/CPR-Rescue Which one do I use to enter into the “Redirect From” field in Shopify URL Redirects? Do I need to have the http:// in front of the URL? Or is it not required for redirects to work? Kind Regards, John Wall

Shopify SEO - Collection or Blog post for ecomm seo?
Hi Moz folks, would love your thoughts on benefits of Shopify collection pages v blog posts for ranking secondary shopping keywords not suitable for existing shop pages - all help gratefully received, we are going down a rabbit hole on this one and need some sanity! So, we’re updating our site which already has a reasonable seo foundation and are looking to rank better for key shopping search keywords in our space (d2c sports nutrition). My question is should we prioritise store collection pages (category pages in Shopify terms) or blog posts for some of the main keywords not already covered by our core in-store collections/categories? Priority keywords already covered are things like protein powders, protein bars, energy drinks, etc. As context, we have a small product catalogue (10 products) and for easy navigation on site have these grouped into 7 collections/categories in the main menu and available from the homepage. All are quality high volume and high intent shopping keywords for our business. The secondary terms we are now looking to add content for are things like marathon nutrition, vegan sports nutrition, etc so now need to choose if we create product collection pages for these, or use blog posts to do the work. The advantage of collections, we believe, is that Google is likely to prioritise these in search. The disadvantage from a UX point of view is that more categories in store could make our simple and clear product range (10 products only) look complex or repetitive. Conversely, a blog post removes any UX confusion with too many categories, but we have a conversion rate issue with our blog. It performs well in search, but conversions are poor. We have addressed this with a new keyword targeting strategy and blog customisation, but we have yet to test this so while in theory it should work well, we do not know for certain. In summary: we want to rank key shopping keywords beyond our core ones we have - would you advise we use blog posts or product collection pages? All help gratefully received - thanks! Warren

Inherited site with high Spam Score backlinks
When building backlinks myself I have been conscious to avoid going over the 30 spam score as recommended on Moz somewhere. But one of the sites I have recently started working on: https://www.osborneplanning.uk/
Link Building | | Donsimong
has a number of very high spam score backlinks, 5 above 50. Some are follow some nofollow.
I am wondering if its a good idea to disavow them, or should I just leave them as they are, I have read some suggestions that Google will just ignore the majority of spammy backlinks, and its better just to keep them, I dont want to start deleting links if they don't cause any problems.0 -
Looking for a dedicated Backlinks/Disavow Platform
Hi Guys, Can anyone recommend a good backlinks program. One which is able to detect spammy backlinks and which has a disavow feature. I've tried Monitor Backlinks, Would appreciate any further suggestions. Priorities are ability to monitor new links and their value, loss of links, link opportunities, with the ability to create recommended opportunity lists and disavow files - ideal if can be used in some way for client reporting also - dashboard or pdf etc. Help with access to contract link builders (perhaps star rated for quality and efficacy) to go after the opportunity lists also a bonus etc. Basically what are people using out there and really liking!? NB: we use moz for some stuff and have a mix of other tools available but nothing seems to be really nailing this for us. Thanks!!

Backlink question
Hi all. Here's the scenario. There is a company who provide financial services to their online clients. On ALL their clients sites they have a "payments-by-us" style logo with backlink to their homepage domain name. This means they have over 3,000 links from a multitude of non-related websites - with just 3 or 4 anchor text keywords in these backlinks. No surprise they have been hit by Penguin My questions What it the best practice for these type of linking LOGO's. Should they link to a dedicated page, and NOT the homepage? Should they have branded + anchor text, no text, or just branded? or a combination of each Should they even be a link at all as they are coming from such a diverse group of sites? I understand how Penguin penalises for overuse of money word keywords as anchor text. This is something that has definitely happened here (by the bucket load) ... Assume the anchor text is "Green Chips Finance" and that phrase is also overused and a bit "stuffy" in their homepage. Here's my question - could simply lowering the prominence / significance of "Green Chips Finance" on the actual home page, help in reducing the impact of the damage caused by the thousands of backlinks with "Green Chips Finance" as the anchor text? I say this as they have a similar number of back links saying "Red Chips Finance", but there is no mention of "Red Chips Finance" on their homepage other than in the keywords and a couple of standard text mentions (no H1, H2, alt text etc) ... interestingly, "Red Chips Finance" (not the real words) is Google No1 whereas "Green Chips Finance" has been demoted from longtime No1 to about 4. Cheers

Backlinks, how do you get them?
Recently, I listed our site on a few directory's which I deemed as not spammy and had good domain authority (competitors were using these). This was about 2 weeks ago and have not seen them come up as a backlink using open site explorer? I was wondering whether i'm missing something out here or does it take longer than 2 weeks to gain a backlink from a website? Thanks in advance.
