Hi, my site is www.in2town.co.uk and i am looking at ranking for lifestyle magazine but i am a bit worried. The titles of the articles on the home page are h2, and i am just wondering if i should change this to h3 as it may get confusing for google. Can anyone let me know if i should keep the article titles as h2 or if i am right that they need to be changed to h3 or something else any help would be great

Hi, i have a serious duplicate page issue and not sure how it happened and i am not sure if anyone will be able to help as my site was built in joomla, it has been done through k2, i have never come across this issue before i am seem to have lots of duplicate pages under author names, example http://www.in2town.co.uk/blog/diane-walker this page is showing the full articles which is not great for seo and it is also showing that there are hundreds more articles at the bottom on the semoz tool i am using, it is showing these as duplicates although there are hundreds of them and it is causing google to see lots of duplicate pages. Hi, this keeps on happening, just check early today and it tells me i have access denied and 403 errors I have this from time to time in my google webmaster tools and i have checked the pages and they work properly, so i am puzzled why this has happened. hi, something very unusual is happening with my site. a few months ago before we updated our site, i mean upgraded it, we would be indexed every day, now it seems we are getting indexed every four days, and now today i have noticed something very strange, this morning when i checked my site www.in2town.co.uk it was cached 31st july, but this afternoon it is showing 25th july. can anyone please let me know why this has happened many thanks

Hi, my site is www.in2town.co.uk and we have been having serious problems with our site since our upgrade. Before the upgrade, our site was on the first page of google for many years and most of them we were in the top three, now however since the upgrade of our site we have had serious problems. The main keyword for our site was lifestyle magazine, but now after checking this keyword we are now on page 12, this has gone down over the past couple of days. we had an introduction and information about our magazine on the home page, trying to rank for the keyword lifestyle magazine, we were jumping from page nine to six to ten, we took the intro off as a developer said that we had done enough to rank well for the keyword without putting any text with the keyword on our site, but since taking it off, we have dropped down more in the rankings. I would love to hear from people on their thoughts on this and if we should put back the intro at the top or where they feel we should put it and should we put about the magazine at the bottom. I was always taught, if you want to rank well for a keyword then as well as doing all the linking, you also need to make sure you optimize the page with the keyword looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this

Hi, my home page has been a thorn in my side for as long as i remember. On normal sites i am ok with seo but when it comes to my magazine site it is a whole new ball game as everything is different. I have been working with a developer who has told me to remove the intro to the site on the home page and to move the bottom of the site which was about the magazine but i am not sure if this is right. I want the site to rank well for the following Lifestyle Magazine now before our upgrade, we ranked well for this and other words, we were number one for a very long time and then stayed on the first page but now since the upgrade, i am jumping from page 9, 10, to six and not sure why that is happening. Hi, i have been researching this since yesterday and have looked at this subject many times before but still cannot get my head around it. i done a report on my site which was very useful, i used http://www.juxseo.com for my site www.in2town.co.uk   and it brought me some useful information but part of that info was it was telling me that i should have on my home page a canonical tag which would improve my seo. Hi, i am having serious problems since i upgraded my website from joomla 1.5 to 3.0 We have dropped down the rankings from page one for the word lifestyle magazine, and we have dropped down in rankings for other very important words including gastric band hypnotherapy and i am starting to regret having the site upgraded. i am finding the google is taking its time visiting my site, i know this for two reasons, one i have checked the cache and it is showing the 2nd july and i have checked articles that we have written and they are still not showing. example if i put this article name in word for word it does not come up, Carnival Divert Ships In The Caribbean Due To bad Weather this was an article that was done yesterday. in the old days before the upgrade that would have been in google now. these problems are costing us the loss of a great deal of traffic, we are losing around 70% of our traffic since the upgrade and would be grateful if people could give me advice on how to turn things around. we add articles all the time. each day we add a number of articles, i was considering changing the front page in the middle and having a few paragraphs of the latest story to get google to visit more often. i know this would look messy but i am running out of ideas. any help would be great

Hi, i would like to know if this is normal as i have never come across it before. i have just checked my speed which needs a lot of improving. Hi, getting really fed up now. we have for years had nothing but trouble with people stealing our content. I have checked this morning and have spent the last three hours contacting sites of the theft of our content. hi, i have been using a great tool today called screaming frog which was shown to me by Thomas Zickell when i used the tool i found some worrying things for my site www.in2town.co.uk. what i have found is, i have a large number of 403 forbidden status on my home page and i do not know why here is an example http://www.in2town.co.uk/emmerdale/emmerdale-debbie-hits-rock-bottom it loads fine but on the tool it shows it as an error and shows it as having no meta tags or anything but there is meta tags in there can anyone please let me know how to solve this and why it has happened many thanks

I have just done the report for my site http://www.in2town.co.uk and it says i have 246 on page links but i am not sure how come i have got that many. I know i have a large number of links and in the old days it says that you should keep the links under 100 but now with website speed and the net, people are saying this is no longer listened to. A report i read said that the links should not confuse the reader or put them off, so i am just wondering what your thoughts are on a site with over a 100 links on the home page and also if my site does have to many links what should i do about it. we have had a competitor who has been stealing a lot of content from us and now they have used seo tactics to write a bad article about one of our sites that they have been taking content from, and what we would like to do is to use seo techniques to drop their article down the rankings. We are consulting a solicitor to take action against them as we are fed up of the content being stolen and the other techniques they are using, can anyone give me ideas on the best way to drop this post down the rankings. I was thinking about articles and press releases and blog posts to get higher up in the rankings and do a lot of these to drop their article down the rankings. Our solicitor has already taken action against them in the past and that cost us a fortune and it looks like we are going to have to spend a fortune again, so any help on using seo techniques to drop their article down the rankings would be great.

Hi I have just checked on my google webmaster tools and it is showing i 11 urls that are coming back as access denied. Now the urls are working, and they have been redirected using 301 redirect, so i have done everything right but for some reason google is not able to crawl them. I have been having problems for a number of weeks now, where if i send a couple of emails out then all of a sudden i am blocked and have to ask my hosting company for a new ip address. my site is in joomla and my email address is through my site. the messages i am getting when sending emails is as follows, and this stays like this until i get a new ip address A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its

Hi, just had my website updated to joomla 3.0 and i have around 4000 urls not found. now i have been told i need to redirect these but i would just like to check on here to make sure i am doing the right thing and the advice i have been given is not correct. I have been told these errors are the reason for the drop in rankings. I need to know if i should redirect all of these 4,000 urls or only the ones that are being linked to from outside of the site. I think about 3,000 of these have no links from outside of the site, but if i do not redirect them all then i am going to keep getting the error messages. around 2,000 of these url not found are from the last time we updated the site which was a couple of years ago and i thought they would have died off now. any advice on what i should do would be great

Hi, really having problems here with www.in2town.co.uk our site was always in the top ten for a large number of important keywords and since our upgrade from joomla 1.5 a month ago to joomla 3.0 we have vanished out of a lot of the search engines for important keywords I am concerned that we could be doing something wrong. two of our important keywords is lifestyle magazine and also gastric band hypnotherapy, but we are nowhere to be seen for these keywords. I must be doing something wrong. The site is an old site, we have been around for many years and have always ranked well up until now. Hi, we have had some of our sites hacked and i would like your advice on the situation. We pay a fair but of money for a dedicated server as we thought that by having a dedicated server it would make the sites secure. The language we use for our sites are joomla and wordpress but yesterday a few of them on the dedicated server were hacked. the hosting company have sent us the following info 'There is one extra security improvement on the system we may offer you and it is cloudlinux with cageFS. This improves the overall security on the server but will not stop unsecured code exploiting if such coding is present in your website scripts.' The hosting company is asking for an extra £20 a month to add this on. we asked the hosting company what they meant by unsecured code and they said: 'Unsecure coding is code in your scripts which will allow injections of files from external source. Unfortunately better explanation is not available and for any detailed information you may check with experience local web developer.' We thought that the sites would be secured. The hosting company have said that because one of the sites was not updated from joomla 1.5 to joomla 3.0 which we were planning to do this week, this is the reason why it has happened. However, this does not make any sense, as this is a dedicated server so why has the wordpress sites which are up to date been hacked when they are on the same dedicated server. any advice in understand more on this issue would be great, as i need to find out why this has happened and if i should be taking my sites to another hosting company
