RE: How to find and fix 404 and broken links?
Only a plus to Adam's response: remember to design custom 404 pages. It's a good idea to include links to pages you want to rank, a search box or a list of featured pages (post, categories, etc.) At least, it may help to keep users staying in your website.
Hope it helps.

RE: How often should I upload a new sitemap in google webmasters?
Hi Scott,
It depends if you want those new pages to be indexed fast. If you want them to be indexed as soon as possible, is a good idea to make a new sitemap because the next time bots crawl your web, they will find new pages easily and then can index them. If indexing new pages is not urgent for you, then wait.
Obviously, if you create a high number of pages which may be indexed per day, create a new sitemap each time you have a new page could be a hard work.
You have to stablish your needs, for example a new sitemap/day, or a new sitemap/10 new pages, etc.
If you use some CMS, like WordPress, there are some useful plugins that allow you automate this task.
I hope my answer would be helpful.

I am currently dedicated to learning and study all the stuff that surrounds us about online marketing and the different ways to improve the development of businesses into brands (and vice versa).
As you can see in my LinkedIn profile, none of my formal studies are about TICs or the Internet, but I fell in love with computing when my older brother bought a Commodore 64 a lot of years ago... and here I am yet.
I've been working in a construction company almost 8 years, where I had to face with big teams of people (some of them really problematic) and deal with a continuous stream of problems, all of them successfully resolved. But my will of having more knowledge about new technologies, marketing techniques, new trends, etc. prompts me to leave the company and give all of my best for learning programming languages and marketing.
Thanks to this decision, I was able to help my wife acquire a technology franchising where we offer online marketing services to small and medium size businesses in our province.
On April 2013, I joined the iKeendo team as Content Strategist and being its voice in all social channels.
And if you want me to talk about my spare time... music, music and music. Really, I'm a music freak. In fact, I studied music when I was a child, and I still do. What is my favourite instrument? Bass guitar. I enjoy playing my Yamaha Rbx5a2 a lot, and I can do it for a long, long time. It's so relaxing.
Other hobbies are literature (I always have a book on my bedside table), travel with my wife and... Internet!!!
