How to fix problem with google analytics connection?
-
In the Organic Traffic Data Report I receive always the same message: "It appears there's a problem with our connection to your Google Analytics account. Please go to your Settings page to update your connection." In the settings I've choosen the correct Google Analytics Account with the correct profile. Thanks for any hints.
Is it because using www. in the GA Profil but *.xyz.ch without www in the campaigns settings?

Hi Aaron
Thanks a lot for the help. I've also created a www. Campaign an there it worked out without any problem. In my case the solution also was to disconnect and reconnect to the GA Account.
Well finally, works great!
-
Great, thanks for the confirmation Aaron.
One of the accounts that I re-created actually came up with this issue and sure enough when I disconnected and reconnected it worked nicely.
I'm sure all the 'losing all your data' talk when disconnecting your account would scare the hell out of some people! Good to know that it will be re-populated in time anyway.
-
@sk That is definitely one of the solutions! There are a few reasons this might be happening. Usually, if you have the correct account and profile already selected, the only fix is to disconnect the GA account and then reconnect it. While it does say that you'll lose some data by doing this, the data loss is temporary because we'll repopulate it all when you reconnect from historical data in GA the entire re-population could take a few days though since we won't have it cached anymore). Also, make sure that you have selected the correct account and profile in GA.
You can verify this by going to your GA account, going to the profile that corresponds with your campaign, finding the number of that profile, and checking it against the profile number embedded in your homepage you're tracking. If they match up, you're gold! GA accounts and profiles can sometimes get mixed up so if you have more than one of either, try changing it to another profile. It might work that way.
You may have to wait for traffic data to repopulate but the current data in the Traffic Data tab will repopulate pretty quickly (immediately most of the time). Hope that helps! If you're still not able to get it to work, send us an email at help@seomoz.org with your PRO email address, the campaign that's having issues, and examples/screenshots of your GA account if you can! We'll try to get you running ASAP.

Yep, your suspicions were right.
I just created another campaign based on the same settings as my *.domain campaign except this time with www.domain instead and the traffic data has shown up immediately.
Perhaps during the campaign creation there could be a note to explain that if the GA profile is a subdomain i.e. prefixed with www then the campaign must be set up to match. SEOmoz?
I'll have to go back and recreate my campaigns which isn't too bad for me but I can imagine if you had been running SEOmoz for a while and only just connected your analytics profile you would be going postal!
-
I'm having the same issue and also thinking the *.domain in campaign while www.domain issue might be the key.
The closest helpful thing I found is here http://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/20031127-lesson-3-connect-google-analytics but all it says regarding troubleshooting is: "Sometimes you can’t connect a Google Analytics account if our servers time out while communicating with Google. If this happens, it’s best to try again later."
If I figure it out I'll let you know!

All ranked pages on Googles SERP only links to home
I got a problem regarding my website called musik.dk, and hope you guys are able to help. I just got my first ranking results from Moz. My question is: All my keywords are linking to the home page, and not the artist page? For examples if I were to search on Rihanna on Google, then when musik.dk appears on the SERP, it only links to the home, and not musik.dk/rihanna.. This problem applies to all the given artists ranked on Googles SERP, it never shows the artist page itself, only links to home. Let me know if you need any information, and I gladly supply, this is kind of frustrating to me.. As a note: all pages besides the home has a PA of 1, and it doesn't really seem to change. My homepage is not getting indexed by google for some reason
My homepage http://www.truebluelifeinsurance.com is not indexed by google. The rest of my site is indexed. The hompage is indexed by bing. I looked in the webmaster tools and there is no indication why. I believe the issue started when I did a site re-design in August. Any ideas?

Grade F pages - all first in Google
Any anyone explain what value the Grade pages are if, as in my case, I have 9 Grade F pages of which 4 are in first position on Google, 1 is in second and the rest are 4th! I understand why SEOM might be flagging them as Grade F (keyword use in tags etc), but it seems it must be looking at the wrong clues if it still thinks that its recommendations are the most relevant to improving position. These are not obscure terms (Spy devices, electronic surveillance, spy systems, surveillance systems) for a UK site (www.spycatcheronline.co.uk) I appreciate that the points highlighted may need to be addressed, but clearly the pages/site are doing something right to come first - does this not devalue the whole Grade system on SEOM? Potential site architecture problem.
We are experiencing a problem in which category pages do not appear to be passing Page Authority to subcategory pages. See the example below: Home page has PA of 47 http://www.minespress.com/ The next level category page down has a PA of 34 http://www.minespress.com/category/apparel The next sub category down has PA of 1, and shows no links at all in spite of the fact that we got to it from a category link http://www.minespress.com/category/golf-shirts The page in question is crawlable, is indexed and has nothing that we can see that would be prevent it from showing Page Authority and a link profile using your tools. Do we have a site architecture problem?

Is there a problem with Weekly Ranking report this week?
I just received my weekly ranking report. 2 Up, 0 down, 8 the same this week. However, last week my page was #2 for "innovation conference" and this week you report "not in top 50." My first thought was penalty, but when I searched and removed personalization, we were still #2 for that search query. So, something must be wrong with the report - either we're 1 down or "not in the top 50 is wrong."
