How long does google takes to crawl a single site ?
-
lately i have been thinking , when a crawler visits an already visited site or indexed site, whats the duration of its scanning?
-
The time it takes for Google to crawl a site can vary depending on several factors. Google uses sophisticated algorithms to determine how frequently to crawl a site and how much of the site's content to crawl. Generally, smaller and less frequently updated sites might be crawled more quickly, while larger and more frequently updated sites might take longer.
Additionally, factors like the site's server speed, the number of pages, the complexity of the site's structure, and the server's response time can all impact how quickly Google crawls a site. Google also prioritizes sites based on various factors like the site's authority, relevance, and user demand.
While there is no fixed time frame for Google to crawl a single site, it typically aims to keep its index up to date and ensure that the most relevant content is available to users. If you have concerns about the crawl rate of your site, you can try optimizing your site's structure, improving server speed, and generating fresh and relevant content to potentially encourage more frequent crawling.

best use indexing plugin for WordPress
when i tried to update my site Punarjan Ayurveda it shows already indexed -
Recently I am experiencing a lot of deindexing and indexing randomly, what could be the reason and solution?
-
For faster indexing, the following conditions must be met:
- The content is thick enough for the google bot to understand the website
- Make sure the onpage optimization is good enough for the google bot to go through the pages according to the anchor text
- Website needs to have trust and be identified on google.
When the website was ranked as high as the top 3 of the big keywords, within 2 hours the content was indexed.
-
You could do "site:yoururl.com" in google search to see what's indexed in Google.
-
Update frequency, i.e how many times your updating, and value of the website for google. Ive seen my own website being crawled daily at some point.
-
I have same issue too. I have built couple of back links and still waiting for the index
-
and how would i know that there are some sites which are indexed more often. any factors?
actually i want my editorial backlinks to get indexed. those links are just not indexed and its been 6 months, ichecked in google search and search console.
-
It just indexes your pages. That could be done in less then a minute if it wanted. If you have everything structured with for example an up to date sitemap, no 404's or anything then your good to go really. Crawl speed is a factor on how much time it spends on the website. Crawl speed is mandatory when google is requesting alot of pages at the same time that could slow it down, or be triggered by a firewall for having too much connections at the same time.
Really these things are usually something from the past. If you want a quick index throw in a link on social media for example or get a quality link from some other place that's indexed more often.

No you got me wrong my question was when crawler visit the website how much time does it spends there , like one hour two hours

If you update your website 'frequently' the crawler will be more there, if you dont update your website frequently the crawler will slowly back down. Ive had a client's website not updated in perhaps 2 years. We installed a complete new website with new content and it took months for it to be completely re-indexed.

My Friend, It is different with each website and its different every day.
You can see it in 2 ways.
-
By setting up and checking your server logs.
-
Google is showing you how many pages they crawled each day and how long it took them in the Crawl Stats chart in Search Consol (Legacy tools)
I wish you all the best!

Site appearing and disappearing from google serps.
Hi, My website is normally on page 2-3 on google consistently. Over the past month it has been appearing and then completely disappearing from the serps. One day it will be on page 2, then the next day completely missing from the serps. When i check the index it seems to be indexed correctly when doing site:mysite.com. I don't understand why this keeps happening, any experience with this issue? It doesn't seem to be a google dance as far as I can tell. When my other sites dance they typically just go up or down a few ranks for a couple weeks until they stabilize. Not completely fall off the search engine.

Reasons for a sharp decline in pages crawled
Hello! I have a site I've been tracking using Moz since July. The site is mainly stagnant with some on page content updates. Starting the first week of December, Moz crawler diagnostics showed that the number of pages crawled decreased from 300 to 100 in a week. So did the number of errors through. So crawler issues went from 275 to 50 and total pages crawled went from 190 to 125 in a week and this number has stayed the same for the last 5 weeks. Are the drops a red flag? Or is it ok since errors decreased also? Has anyone else experienced this and found an issue? FYI: sitemap exists and is submitted via webmaster tools. GWT shows no crawler errors nor blocked URLs.

Does Site Size Influence Rank?
The Scenario:
Algorithm Updates | | kchandler
Currently one of my clients has 7-8 products that they sell on their website. For each product they have two different pages one with the product info and one with a video demo. So the pages began to split their authority as they began receiving new links. Since only one of the two pages for each product rank i suggested that we combine the two and redirect the video page to the product page to increases it's authority and rank. The Clients Response:
After explaining my reasoning and next steps the client mentioned that he thought a site's size was a ranking factor. I had never heard of this before so i told them i would do some research to prove my point, after a little digging around i am now even more confused. http://www.seroundtable.com/google-size-ranking-17044.html http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/4591155.htm The Question:
Does a websites size/amount of content indexed in Google actually effect your sites ability to rank? I look forward to everyones feedback, thanks Kyle1 -
Drop in Traffic from Google, However no change in the rankings
I have seen a 20% drop in traffic from google last week (After April 29th). However when I try to analyze the rank of the keywords in the google results that send me traffic they seem to be the same. Today (6th March) Traffic has fallen further again with not much/any visible change in the rankings. Any ideas on what the reason for this could be? I have not made any changes to the website recently.

Google dance/over optimized/paranoid?
Hi guys, hope your all OK and thanks in advance for taking a nosey at this. OK where to start - my rankings for the last 12 months have progressively improved every week, usually of the 300 KWs i track the last few months has seen approx 70 up/70down per week, but the improvements usually outweigh the declines. This week I saw a sudden drop though - 35 improvements and 112 declines. The strange thing was though, the improvements came on the more competitive KWs, and the less competitive words I haven't done much or any back linking for dropped. Seems silly me asking this question when I run that through my head ofcouse KWs you don;t work on will drop like flies? It should be plainly obvious those words would drop off but all have been improving on there own slowly over the last 6/7 months. Now if this was a penalty (nothing showing in webmaster tools) I would have expected it to come through on my KWs I have over done the backlinking for, but these are the 1's that improved. So is it just the Google Dance? I normally see some words such as the big 1 we target DJ Equipment go from position 13 - 24 can change hourly sometimes! Could it just be quite a few have dropped all at once and will pop back up this week? Also if anyone could give us any pointers in general on where you think we should be taking our SEO it would be much appreciated. I know we have been a little lazy with our backlinking and could do with some much better/ industry related websites linking to us, and there are title tags/metas on product page that need sorting.. aside these couple of issue's? What to do with eCommerce site with color variations of the same product?
On our eCommerce website we sell products that each have about 20 color variations. When the site was built each color variation was added individually instead as a single product with a configurable color option. Would it be best to combine the different variations into a single product with a configurable drop down menu for color or to leave as is? I am worried the search engines see the individual product pages for each color as duplicate content. What are your thoughts on how Zappos handles color variations? On the category page they display each color variation as an individual product but when the product is clicked it goes to a single product page with the different configurable color variations. Thanks
