Bit.ly backlinks

Hi all,
what experience do you have with Bit.ly links? Can I use it for backlinking management?
-
i have tried adding our websites Mein3DDruckwerk.de and din3dprinter.dk on this page https://bit.ly/m/3dprint-online
Will they count as backlinks then?
-
bit.ly links are great for shortening URLs and tracking clicks, but using them for backlinking management might not be the most effective strategy. While they can be handy for sharing links in a concise manner, they aren't typically used for backlink management, which involves strategically building links to your website from other authoritative sites. For that, you might want to explore more comprehensive backlink management tools or strategies. What's the most memorable place you've ever visited, and why?

what experience do you have with Bit.ly links? Can I use it for backlinking management?
Bit.ly is primarily a URL shortening service that allows you to create shortened versions of long URLs, making them easier to share, manage, and track. While Bit.ly itself is not designed specifically for backlink management, you can use it in certain contexts related to link tracking and analytics.
Here are some considerations:
Link Shortening: Bit.ly is commonly used to create shortened versions of long URLs. This can be useful in situations where you have character limitations, such as in social media posts or messaging platforms.
Link Tracking: Bit.ly provides analytics that allow you to track the performance of your shortened links. You can see how many clicks your link received, where those clicks came from, and other relevant data. This information can be helpful in assessing the effectiveness of your links.
Custom Short URLs: Bit.ly allows you to create custom short URLs, which can be branded and more recognizable. This can be useful for maintaining a consistent brand presence even when sharing links.
However, using Bit.ly for backlinking management in the traditional sense may not be the best approach. Backlinking is often associated with SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and search engines may not treat shortened URLs the same way they treat direct links. Some platforms may even consider shortened URLs as potential security risks.
If you're looking for comprehensive backlink management, consider using dedicated SEO tools or platforms that provide features specifically designed for tracking and managing backlinks. Tools like Moz, Ahrefs, or SEMrush are more suitable for this purpose, as they offer in-depth analysis of backlink profiles, domain authority, and other SEO-related metrics.
In summary, while Bit.ly can be useful for link shortening and tracking, it's not the ideal solution for backlink management in the context of SEO. For SEO purposes, consider using specialized tools that are designed to provide more detailed insights into your backlink strategy.
My experience was an example
If you want to shorten a link similar to this,
https://bit.ly/trailer-best
you must publish this link in other places so that Googlebot can pass through it.
If I did not do that, meaning that I shortened the link on Bit.ly and did not publish it, then I would not have gotten anythingI hope I answered your question

I came across this post and it has me questioning whether we should continue using bit.ly links for www.smartstartla.com and www.smartstartal.com blog articles since SEO is so important to us. I appreciate the post, I definitely have a lot to consider.

It's generally recommended to use direct backlinks whenever possible because have the potential to pass the full link authority. Wouldn't recommend using bitly links, to many possible issues.

Hello, i was trying to add a backlink from bit.ly/3USo9K3 to my website Amante de las Mascotas but i don't see it anywhere in ubbersugest, can anyone explain me how to do it? Thanks.

@Tormar There are 301 links, which makes you think how effective seo is. We also bought it for our website addresses below, but we are looking forward to the result. Indexing has been very difficult lately.

@rezkyfiola you need to post bit.ly links as a backlinks. Then will get indexed and shown as backlinks
-
I also have some links from bitly. But now it seems very difficult to index. Is there any info on how to make this backlink active?
heres my link:
https://bit.ly/SNGLogistic
https://bit.ly/SNGCargo -
Hi
You can utilize SEO services, however remember, they are 301 sidetracks, so you lose a touch of connection juice when web crawlers step through them.
On the off chance that you decided to do this, you'll likewise need to label the URLs before you shortlink them, generally your Google Examination revealing will show all that traffic as Immediate/(none) in the Channel report.

Hi Tormar,
but is it raelly matters what Google Analytics shows as a traffic? I have added another bit.ly/3Ej2BiH poining to https://www.directorysubmissionsite.com/ and should patiantly wait for indexing. To me looking for search appearance is the only important with regard to backlinks. -

@Murtaza65544 Services Like Bit.ly are like Sun Spots. They're not designed to get you back links. They're just URL Shorteners. If your looking to get backlinks, forums are a good way to get UGC backlinks from places like Moz.
See that's a Solar Pool Pump. It's not a backlink for Brevard County SEO.
Hire someone like David from webduh if you're trying to get backlinks.

What IP Address does Googlebot use to read your site when coming from an external backlink?
Hi All, I'm trying to find more information on what IP address Googlebot would use when arriving to crawl your site from an external backlink. I'm under the impression Googlebot uses international signals to determine the best IP address to use when crawling (US / non-US) and then carries on with that IP when it arrives to your website? E.g. - Googlebot finds www.example.co.uk. Due to the ccTLD, it decides to crawl the site with a UK IP address rather than a US one. As it crawls this UK site, it finds a subdirectory backlink to your website and continues to crawl your website with the aforementioned UK IP address. Is this a correct assumption, or does Googlebot look at altering the IP address as it enters a backlink / new domain? Also, are ccTLDs the main signals to determine the possibility of Google switching to an international IP address to crawl, rather than the standard US one? Am I right in saying that hreflang tags don't apply here at all, as their purpose is to be used in SERPS and helping Google to determine which page to serve to users based on their IP etc. If anyone has any insight this would be great.

Can a .ly domain rank in the United States?
Hello members. I have a question that I am seeking to confirm whether or not I am on the right track. I am interested in purchasing a .ly domain which is the ccTLD for Libya. The purpose of the .ly domain would be for branding purposes however at the same time I do not want to kill the websites ability to rank in Google.com (United States searches) because of this domain. Google does not consider .ly to be one of those generic ccTLDs like. io, .cc, .co, etc. that can rank and Bitly has also moved away from the .ly extension to a .com extension. Back in 2011 when there was unrest in Lybia, a few well known sites that utilized the .ly extension had their domains confiscated such as Letter.ly, Advers.ly and I think Bitly may have been on that list too however with the unrest behind us it is possible to purchase a .ly so being able to obtain one is not an issue. From what I can tell, I should be able to specify in Google Search Console that the website utilizing the .ly extension is a US based website. I can also do this with Google My Business and I will keep the Whois info public so the whois data can been seen as a US based website. Based on everything I just said do any of you think I will be OK if I were to register and use the .ly domain extension and still be able to rank in Google.com (US Searches). Confirmation would help me sleep better. Thanks in advance everyone and have a great day!!

Backlinks from old domain
Hi, We have gone through a change of company brand name including a new domain name.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Agguk
We followed google recommendations at: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/83106?hl=en and it seems to have worked really well, the new domain has replaced the old in the google search results. My question: Still most of our backlinks, both anchor text and links use the old brand name and domain and it´s a slow process trying to update all references. Although they get redirected fine to the new domain (also following google recommendations), I wonder if the current scenario is doing any harm, SEO wise (other than the missed visual exposure of the new brand name) ? ...since the old brand name is not present at the new site I´m thinking of including "New brand name - previously old brand name" somewhere just to provide some sort of connection to all old backlinks, would that be unnecessary? I should mention that the old brand name actually includes our most important keyword but the new brand name does not. Thanks!0 -
Too many backlinks from one domain?
I've been in the process of creating a tourism-based website for the state of Kansas. I'm a photographer for the state, and have inked a nice little side income to my day job as a web designer by selling prints from Kansas (along with my travels elsewhere). I'm still in the process of developing it, but it's at least at a point that I need to really start thinking about SEO factor of the amount of backlinks I have from it going back to my main photography website. The Kansas site is at http://www.kansasisbeautiful.com and my photography website is http://www.mickeyshannon.com. This tourism website will serve a number of purposes: To promote the state and show people it's not just a flat, boring place. To help promote my photography. The entire site is powered by my photography. To sell a book I'm planning to publish later this year/early next year of Kansas images. To help increase sales of photography prints of my work. What I'm worried about is the amount of backlinks I have going from the Kansas site to my photography site. Not to mention every image is hosted on my photography domain (no need to upload to two domains when one can serve the same purpose). I'm currently linking back to my site on most pages via a little "Like the Photos? Buy a print" link in the top right corner. In addition, when users get to the website map, all photo listings click back to a page on my photography site that they can purchase prints. And the main navigation also has a link for "Photos" that takes them to my Kansas photo galleries on my photography website as well. The question I have: Is it really bad SEO-wise to have anywhere from 1 to 10+ backlinks on every page from one domain (kansasisbeautiful.com) linking back to mickeyshannon.com? Would I be better served moving all of the content from kansasisbeautiful into a subdirectory on my photography site (mickeyshannon.com/kansas/) and redirecting the entire domain there? I haven't actually launched this website yet, so I'm trying to make the right call before pushing it to the public. Any advice would be appreciated!

Multiple Landing Pages and Backlinks
I have a client that does website contract work for about 50 governmental county websites. The client has the ability to add a link back in the footer of each of these websites. I am wanting my client to get backlink juice for a different key phrase from each of the 50 agencies (basically just my keyphrase with the different county name in it). I also want a different landing page to rank for each term. The 50 different landing pages would be a bit like location pages for local search. Each one targets a different county. However, I do not have a lot of unique content for each page. Basically each page would follow the same format (but reference a different county name, and 10 different links from each county website). Is this a good SEO back link strategy? Do I need more unique content for each landing page in order to prevent duplicate content flags?

301 Redirect - What happens to backlinks
Hello... One of my sites is losing rankings in G. I received the webmaster notification of unnatural links... My question is, should i do a 301 redirect of every page on my site to a new domain? If so, do the backlinks (which i believe are causing my rankings to drop) carry over? How about the good backlinks? Also, what would happen to the rankings i currently have on page 1? Thanks
