URL Length
-
I have a simple question. How many characters can a URL be before Moz flags it as too long?
-
Yes, the 75 characters length recommendation includes the http://
Regards.
-
Just to clarify, is "http://" included in the character count?
-
Thx
-
Hi,
75 characters.
“Choose shorter, human-readable URLs with descriptive keywords. We recommend keeping URLs under 75 characters. When possible, place content on the same subdomain to preserve authority. Optimal format: http://www.example.com/category-keyword/subcategory-keyword/primary-keyword.html.”
Kind regards

Unsolved How do I test a single URL?
Hi,
Getting Started | | imranh70
I ran the crawler, and it found a few errors on the site. I have fixed these errors. I don't want to run the crawler against the entire site again. I just want to run the test against a single page. How can I do that?0 -
URL Length - Another Question
Question: Is the " http:// " included in the character count when figuring the length of a URL? (I am asking this as a separate question because the other URL question is shown as answered)

901 error code showing url back to back in crawl
Hi Everyone, I'm absolutely dumbfounded about this 901 issue (showing pages with our url back to back). Our site is hosted on Big Commerce: https://www.santabarbarachocolate.com When I look for these pages being crawled I don't find them. I've called BC for help and I can't seem to find a solution or where to turn as to how to fix the issue at hand or even if it matters. Please see below what the Moz crawl shows. Could this be related to Yotpo or some app we have running? Or does this even matter and does it have any influence on rank? Do you have recommendations or ideas? Thanks so much. Moz not recognising url to setup a new account
I am attempting to setup a new account for my client but Moz is having a problem and not registering the url http://www.esc.uk.net/. I get the "oops" message & read the info on the FAQ page it refers to. Why do I keep getting an "Oops" message when I type and submit my campaign URL? To create a campaign, we need to receive a valid HTTP response from the web server hosting your site. While the site may be accessible from a standard web browser, other user-agents and search engine bots may receive a different response. If you receive this error, we recommend running a test by sending an HTTP response using any online HTTP tool. Using an online HTTP tool I believe I received an HTTP response. What else can I do? Regards Terry

Fixing Non-Valid URL - Oops! This does not appear to be a valid URL. Please try again.
Edit - Turns out I can't delete a question. I ended up finding out I'm supposed to email the Moz team at help@moz.com. I did a search regarding the issue, but I only found answers for people using AWS. The results say the .htaccess isn't setup correctly, but I don't know how to fix that file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Https not sticking on competitor URL
One of our competitors uses Https:// on thier search results and when we add and save it, it removes the s - we know their site ranks on specific keywords, we know this from manually searching before we got moz but moz is not showing them because it is looking for http:// not https:// How can i fix this. Also - when we first set it up, we did not add the www. and our analytics are setup as such so we show no traffic on our dashboard, but it wont let me edit to change it. Thanks

'not a valid url' error in campaign set up
I get the error not a valid url when I'm trying to set up a campaign. I know it's a valid url. I have tried with www, non-www, http://, https:// when I do the https it lets me start, but then I get an error that https is forwarding to http and I need to use that. When I then put in the http, I get the original error. thanks in advance for your help.

How do I interpret Duplicate Content in a Crawl Report, when it only gives me a URL? How do I know what is duplicated on that page somewhere else?
I need help interpreting the Crawl Report for Duplicate Content. It gives me the URLs of pages that have duplicate content, but how do I know what content exactly is duplicated elsewhere? And how do I figure out where it is duplicated? Also, are there Moz Analytics articles or videos teaching you how to use each component of the analytics programs? Thanks!
