No Social Sources in Google Analytics - what am I doing wrong?
-
Hello Everyone,
I'm having a strange issue: I DO NOT have in my Google Analytics the "Social" tab under the Traffic Sources category.
Look at the first image of this post: http://marketingland.com/google-analytics-social-reports-8138
How do you "get" that to show?
Hope somebody has this issue and can help,
Thanks a lot,
Alex

Thanks for your replies - all of you - it looks like i didnt read well enough:
"No setup is required to track Google +1 interactions that occur on your site. However, to track interactions with non-Google interactions, you will need to modify your tracking code."
To me, this means that G+1 will be tracked automatically HOWEVER if you want to track NON Google products (Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etc) you'll need to modify the tracking code, meaning that you probably need to add a tracking code to every non google button:
_gaq.push(['_trackSocial', network, socialAction, opt_target, opt_pagePath]); Thanks again, Alex

Hi Jeff - yeah Google+ is automatically integrated - another obvious question is do you both have +1s from users being reported in Google - because if you don't then you may need to update to the latest tracking code if you haven't already, as this is a potential issue..
-
Good point, Matt. I'm not using the social tracking plugin as of yet. From what I understand, Google+ is automatically integrated without further code needed?
If that's the case, I would assume you'd be able to see the Social tab with G+ data integrated?
-
Hi - reading the article the impression I get is that you still need to have modified your existing tracking code to be able to use this feature when the tab does appear on your report. Are either of you already using the social tracking plugin?

Sorry if its obvious and you are but thought I would check..
-
In the 4th paragraph of the article you link to, it says "Some may see them today, and they should roll out to all users in the coming weeks."
The tab does not yet show up in my Analytics page either, so I'd hang tight for a few more weeks.

Why is Indeed.com traffic appearing as organic in Google Analytics?
A large number of sessions in my client's Google Analytics account appear to come from medium: organic and source:Indeed. Since I'm focused on SEO for this project, I'd prefer that Indeed be treated as referral traffic. Any ideas for fixing this issue? Also, and I'm sure the answer is no, is there a way to fix the past data in Google Analytics that has already reported Indeed as an organic medium?

Is there a way to filter all computers on a specific IPv6 network in Google Analytics?
Is there a quick way of filtering the IP addresses for all the computers on a network that's using IPv6? I want to filter out visits to our websites from the devices on our office network, but each computer (and phone and tablet) seems to have a different address. It _looks _like they all start the same way, though. One computer is xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:aaaa:aaaa:aaaa:aaaa, another is xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:bbbb:bbbb:bbbb:bbbb, my phone is xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:cccc:cccc:cccc:cccc, etc. Does this mean that xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx is the address for our network as a whole, and I can just set up a Google Analytics filter for "IP addresses starting with..."? Or would doing that also filter out hits from, like, every visitor within a 20 mile radius of our office? If I need to simply put in the individual addresses for each and every device, I will. I'm just hoping it doesn't come to that. Thanks!

Google Analytics and Bounce Rates Query - Should I block access from foreign countries ?
Hi , When I look at my google analytics for my UK Website, I can see alot of visits come from outside the UK , i.e Brazil and USA. Both of which give me almost 100% bounce rates from people visiting from there. I am wondering, if google looks at bounce rates with regards to ranking factors and should I therefore block access to my site from visitors outside the UK ?... Would this help increase my rankings ? Given that we only serve uk customers, I cant see any benefit of allowing non uk customers the ability to see the site . what does people think ? thanks pete

Google Analytics Real Time Not Working! :(
Hello Everyone, Today, the real time feature in my google analytics stopped working. I am able to see that traffic is visiting my site, but not in real time. The real time count is usually at 0. But, there are some instances where real time will come back online, but there will be only 1 unique visitor. At any given time, our website usually has 20 visitors or so..Has anyone encountered this issue? Where should i start looking for fixes? What are the possible problems? Thanks!

How can we view traffic from specific Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Reddit accounts in Google Analytics?
Dear Moz Community, This is a Google Analytics question. Using Google Analytics, we're trying to identify trends of visitors on a website from specific social media accounts, i.e: twitter.com/account-x facebook.com/account-x youtube.com/account-x reddit.com/r/account-x Ideally, we would like to be able to see the success rate for specific posts on these social media accounts, and how users engaged on the website after arriving from clicking a link on one of these accounts. Is this drill-down feature currently possible in Google Analytics? Many thanks for helping!

Custom Variables to track Vimeo plays on website with Google Analytics?
Hello Everyone, I'm trying to track how many times a Vimeo video is played on my site via GA. Does any of you have any knowledge of how can this be achieved? I've read the documentation and came up with this: After the iframe embed i insert this: Of course the GA is loaded in the header. Does not work, at least i cant see anything in analytics. I have set up the segment as per the attached image. Thanks in advance! Alex E6XnO.png
