Metadescription (SERP's) with green checkmarks: spammy or not?
-
HI
Will a Metadescription with GREEN checkmarks be perceived as spammy in general? Or is one with BLACK checkmarks better? Depends on the topic/target audience, etc.? --> see screenshots.
No doubt that the green will stand up more (increases CTR) in the SERPS but if it is perceived as less trustworthy or even spammy by the target audience its not worth doing it.
Any experience with that? Would really like to know what do you think about it.
Cheers,
Cesare

Definitely depends on the topic/audience, like you said. It never hurts to run some tests, and don't take anyone's personal opinion on it. I would say that black check marks are better, but I may be 100% wrong in your case.
Lime green frames improve CTR in some banner ads, despite looking hideous and spammy, same for red/yellow text/background combinations and other questionable things.
