Best to Include Phone Number as CTA Button in Mobile Version of B+B Web Site?
-
We are attempting to keep the number of CTAs (Calls to Action) on our commercial real estate website to a minimum. Our adjusted design (see attached) has 2 CTAs. One is "Contact Agent" the other is "Schedule a Tour". We are focusing on the listing page, which is the primary product page and critical in terms of CTA.
Our mobile version does not show a phone number while the desktop version (also attached) displays a phone number.
Should the mobile version also display a button a phone number? Some members of our target audiences, business owners and executives who are often in their 40s and 50s may prefer to call us up rather than communicate by written message. Any suggestions for elegantly displaying the phone number without causing confusion? I have read that the number of CTAs should be limited so I am on the fence as to whether or not to include a phone number
Thanks,

Hello Alan,
The figure speaks for itself 35% of mobile traffic is more than worth the effort to get a button added to the mobile view of the site.
There isn't a protocol per se, just some very simple code, a variation of an anchor tag - https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/native-hardware/click-to-call/ - your developer will be able to create a button easily enough.
In addition, they will need to add a CSS @media rule - https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css3_pr_mediaquery.asp

Hi Joe:
About 35% of our traffic is derived from mobile so maximize mobile conversion probably worth the effort.
Do you think it would be most effective to display the phone number as an actual button with a similar design as the other 2? Is there any form of protocol for displaying phone numbers on mobile devices?
Thanks,
Alan -
Hello,
Your mobile version does show a phone number, above the "Location" dropdown.
If you mean that you should display that phone number as a button, similar to the "Contact Agent" & "Schedule Tour" - then yes place a more prominent button there. It's advisable to limit CTA's, yes, I doubt 3 is too much though.
However, before you dive in, how much of your traffic is mobile? Would it be worth the effort.
