While SEO and SEM strategies were still younger than his daughter (she's six), Mike began his journey towards founding seOverflow. Honing his skills in the early 90s during the dot com boom, he worked for online industry giants like Sun Microsystems and Level 3 Communications. Mike's also an avid fly fisherman, which might explain the boat analogy. Or maybe the copywriter just felt like making a boat analogy. In any case, Mike found a niche assisting web designers and other marketing professionals expand their offering to include SEO services without having to specialize in the ever-changing space. When it comes to geeks, Mike's a big one. And other people think he's a big 'ol geek, too. As a subject matter expert, Mike regularly speaks at national industry events and conferences including: Search Engine Strategies (SES), Search Marketing Expo (SMX), Search Engine Marketing Professionals of Portland (SEMpdx), and Business Marketing Association (BMA) events. Geek Stuff: Contributing Writer - WebProNews.com and LocalSearchNews.net, certified Yahoo Search Marketing Ambassador, B.S. Business Information Systems – University of Colorado - Boulder.
