Date stamp in serp
-
I have a website with sauna reviews. These are mostly pages that exist for years and regularly change because comments/reviews are added by visitors and/or because I change information on the page.
When searching in Google for competitive keywords I noticed that the snippet of my direct competitor included a date stamp in the format (9 hous ago).
How can I include a time stamp in the snippet, and more important how can I make sure that the timestamp is very recent.
Is it sufficient to add a date on the page every time the page is updated or is ther emore to it?

@JCP Vlemmix,
Thx for your reply. I does however not entirely anwer my question.
To my information Google may include the date in the snippet on the SERP. The date used can be the crawldate or a date mentioned on the webpage. I am not exactly sure how to influence the date shown in the snippet.
I have pages that were created long time ago and are update regularly, by me and user comments. I would like this page to carry a recent date that is shown in the snippet on the SERP.
For know I am going to run a test on a few pages in which I show the date on the webpage in a USA date format. If Google picks up this date i conitnue testing with updating this date on the webpage everytime the webpage is updated. How do you manage the date in the snippet?

I think you can achieve this using a custom URL structure that Google will pick up to add the posts to their newsfeed. I used this structure for ptzeporselein.be : yoursite.com/blog/year/month/day/postname
It seems that it gets indexed much quicker than other websites I worked on. They are all in wordpress, all using Yoast's SEO plugin, but the ptzeporselein website performs better. Last article posted on the blog was indexed within a few minutes...

Google is showing erroneous results on SERPs page
Hello, All, In April, two months ago, we caught a hack on a client's website. It created about 40 pages in what looked to be a black hat link tactic. We removed the pages, resubmitted the sitemap.xml (it reprocessed) and ran it through screaming frog to confirm all the pages were gone, but the forty pages still show up in the search results for a site search. We have both the www. and non www. version of sites claimed and set a preference. Nothing is awry with the robots.text. We're not really sure what to do to resolve it. We asked Google to recrawl (fetch) the site. I'm not sure what's going on with it. The website's name is fortisitsolutions.com The site search bringing up the pages from the hack is below. site:www.fortisitsolutions.com Any ideas?

Is my domain holding me back in the SERPS?
Even after a good year or so, my site intensivedrivingschoolmiltonkeynes.co.uk does not rank in the top 10 (google.co.uk) for "Intensive Driving School Milton Keynes", and is nowhere for "Driving School Milton Keynes". Do you think the domain name is being penalised, or do you think there are other factors that contribute to the poor performance.

Do quotation marks in content effect SERPs?
Some of my art object products have words and phrases engraved on them. The words relate to the images on the product. In the product descriptions, I have been putting quotes around the entire list. Would I get better long tail results if I didn't use the quotation marks? In other words, do the quotes make everything between them an exact match phrase? For example:

Keyword and SERP Help Please
So I am curious about keyword placements etc. My main question is: So is whatever you search for in say Google must be the same in a website - to be found? So say you search for plumbers in Colorado Then you must have that exact, same phrase, in your website to be found? or does Google know based on title tags and such that a page is about plumbers and they service Colorado? I just want to make sure I am understanding how keywords work to be found. I mean you can have Colorado plumbers and plumbers in Colorado. So its hard to figure out how to use keywords. So a brief suggestion is greatly appreciated Chris

Google showing my content on the serps in a different domain
Hi all, Recently a partner of ours discovered that Google is showing a meta description on the serps for his homepage that is not his but ours. On his site, he sells add-ons for our software, so the name of our software appears many times and as well there are many links pointing to our site. He claims he hasn´t copied this text from us, and I have used some tools to verify this. I don´t understand how Google can get confused and show our text as the meta desctiption on the serps for his homepage. Any idea on why this happened?

Duplicate Page Titles in Crawl Errors (although Google is rewriting in serps ??)
Hi Im working on a client/project and crawl report is showing thousands of dupe page titles In the case of the blog/news section its aprox 50 since aprox 50 posts and they all have the same meta-title: "Brand News | Brand" as opposed to: "Title Unique to Page/Topic/KW Relating to Content | Brand" Since these are the main content pages we want to rank (in addition to the main site category pages) then i have instructed dev must prioritise populating these pages meta-titles with the actual post/article titles, as per the latter version of the above example. (I should mention that i have requested they fix all dupe titles but main content pages are the priority). Whilst this will reduce the number of dupe titles in crawl error/warning report which is a good thing, is it actually likely to increase the ranking of these news/content pages given that Google does seem to be rewriting the titles correctly in the serps based on the page content ? Many Thanks in advance for your input

What the - SERP?
I have my site I made 5 days ago with 5 pages of unique content at 500 words each, no backlinks, and non-optimized on page SEO. I just check my SERP ranking for a competition of 49-50% at I am sitting at the bottom of page 1? Will I keep this rank or what?

SERP listing of a websites' 'categories'
Hi all, just wondering if anyone has thoughts on what I can do to encourage SERP listings that include website categories, eg http://www.google.com.au/search?q=seomoz&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a . I'm assuming search engines only display type of listings when the search query closely matches the domain name? Thank heaps!
