Is SEOMoz better than Traffic Travis ?
-
I've been trying both programs for the free trial and I'm not sure which one is exactly better.
they seem to me that both give a similar asepct of research, However SEOMOZ seems to be updating more frequntly. On the seconnd hand, traffic travis is way more cheaper only $97 one time fee as apposed to SEOMoz $100 per month
Could someone convince me SEOMOZ is the better tool?

Its a travesty to compare moz with small software like Travis .
Moz has
- Backlink checker with world known metrics PA(Page Authority) ,DA (Domain authority).
- Web based power which is highly greater than the software one.
- Rank checker and so many tools that Travis cannot even imagine.
Now let's see what traffic Travis can work for
- one-time payment and few number of tools.
- Way way cheaper then monthly subscription and not even $ 97 as you said but it's available for around $ 37 on some coupon sites like http://www.discountmycart.com/
so it is quite funny to compare both!

Thanks for the reply. I would have to agree that the caliber of the data from SEOmoz seems to be much more credible to other platforms, such as Traffic Travis. Really the only point I'm caught up on is the Keyword Difficulty rating as its the only major point of discrepancy. For the time being I will leave my trust with SEOmoz, but it would be interesting to know why the two tools are so disparet when it comes to rating keyword difficulty.
Agreed on all points regarding the quality of both SEOmoz tools and its awesome community. Thanks again for taking time to respond.

I can't speak much about the qualities of Traffic Travis, in part because I know of no serious SEO that uses it. This isn't a judgement of the software, but has more to do with experience level. SEOmoz is geared for intermediate and advanced SEOs (and beginners who are willing to learn - all the resources are here) Whereas as Traffic Travis seems more aimed at the beginner SEO or those not able to invest as much time and/or resources into the process. (Just guessing here)
The last thing I want to do is "sell" SEOmoz or disparage a competitor, but there are a lot of things that SEOmoz offers that I don't think can be matched by a one-time desktop software purchase. These include:
- SEOmoz Metrics - Gold Standard here. Moz metrics are used (and resold) by more companies than any other SEO metrics on the market. And metrics like Domain Authority are correlated with rankings closer to anything else. An SEOmoz membership gives you full access to Open Site Explorer and complete backlink analysis - the same data that other companies buy direct from SEOmoz.
- Weekly crawls and reporting by rogerbot - the SEOmoz crawler. This is one of the most complete and easy to use SEO site audits around.
- Learning resources. This includes monthly webinars, full access to the PRO Q&A and more.
- Special resources like full access to the PRO only Directory List
- A full suite of SEO tools, including complete access to the MozBar.
- And a kick-ass community.
Over 50% of SEOmoz members stay 18 months or longer, and many have stayed for years.
At the end of the day, I always encourage folks to try the Free Trial (now it sounds like I'm selling, damnit). But it's a no-risk affair and you'll probably learn more in one week than you have in the past few months.

good morning! My team uses both seomoz and Traffic Travis. We are having a similar issue of trying to figure out which one is best for what task. The main issue seems to be consistency. When we run the same keyword through traffic travis and seomoz., TT says the keyword is easy and seomoz tells us its difficult. This leaves us scratching our heads a bit. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck.

Traffic Travis?!.... More like Traffic Travesty!
Joking aside, nothing in my opinion comes close to what SEOMoz offer; the tools, linkscape/open site explorer use and knowledge available from the team and forum is light years ahead of what you can get elsewhere (plus the community is nice).
SEOMoz are at the forefront of new tools and ways of doing SEO, and this coupled with the tool-set and knowledge base is what you're paying your $99 a month for. Traffic Travis only seems to offer a more limited tool set without any automation features.
SEOMoz all the way!

Can I prevent some pages from being crawled from SEOMoz spider and still not affect Google Spider?
Well, basically that's the question đ Can I prevent some pages from being crawled from SEOMoz spider and still not affect Google Spider? This is, I have more than 10.000 pages on the website, and I am not interested in having reports for many of them, but I still wanna get SEO visits on them, so I want Google to crawl it easily... Thanks!

Why does SEOMoz think I have duplicate content?
The SEOmoz crawl report shows me a large amount of duplicate content sites. Our site is built on a CMS that creates the link we want it to be but also automatically creates it's own longer version of the link (e.g. http://www.federalnational.com/About/tabid/82/Default.aspx and http://www.federalnational.com/about.aspx). We set the site up so that there are automatic redirects for our site. Google Webmaster does not see these pages as duplicate pages. Why does SEOmoz consider them duplicate content? Is there a way to weed this out so that the crawl report becomes more meaningful? Thanks!

Why does Seomoz report other values then Google Webmaster?
Dear Seomoz Community I check my Seomoz ranking from time to and today I saw a big discrepancy between the reported domains linking to my site in the Site Explorer and Google Webmaster tools. Seomoz reports 19 linking domains

Why does it take so long for SeoMoz to update data?
I changed the Anchor Text of 4 40/100 MozRank sites 2 months ago, yet SeoMoz still shows the old Anchor text in the reports. Why is this taking so long? I also notice my inbound domains hasn't increased nor has my MozRank in 3-4 weeks. What's the turnaround?

About NOFOLLOW tag for SEOmoz analysis
Hi all, Another issue while trying to resolve all the duplicate content SEOmoz reports to me. May be some of you guys can help: I have a dynamic error page on our website, generated in case of error, that can happen on many urls. Of course that one should not be indexed. I added the following tag on the HEADER: name="robots" content="NOODP,NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW" /> To me this should prevent from having this page indexed, but also from having this page reported by SEOmoz analyzer as duplicate content. Any hints?

What would be a really good reason to pay for SEOmoz Pro service?
What would be a really good reason(s) to pay for PRO membership after 1 month free trial expires? What do I get here that I didn't already use during my trial, or can get somwhere else for free or less money? Not trying to criticize, just looking for facts. Thanks.

Historical error info on SEOMoz?
Is it possible to get a report of errors that were on a site back in April? Does SEOMoz keep that data available? There was a big decline in the number of errors on one of my sites and I'm trying to go back and see what it was. --Steve

SEOMoz Campaign Tool
I've noticed that when looking at the SEOmoz tool, specifically the On Page analysis tool, it is still looking at an old url. About two months ago I made updates to all of our category page URLs. Previously the old urls were stuffed with keywords, strange characters and were really long. When looking at the on-page tool though it is referencing the old urls for keywords and I'm wondering why? I figure its been long enough to recognize the new urls. Is the paring of a keyword and a url saved and just graded on a weekly basis to produce the report? I had expected to see the new url's by now which are also represented in the sitemap. Around that same time I also added our TellAFriend Page and Review pages to our Robots.txt file as not to be crawled but I still see these pages come up in the errors report. Should this update as well?
