Dicas para SEO for large news portals
-
Hello everybody, how are you? Two years ago I started working with SEO in my town, here SEO is quite restricted, few professionals are aware.
I started doing consulting for small and medium businesses today already meets some larger companies. Recently I was approached by a major news portal for presenting a project to work content and SEO best practices along with journalists, web designers, finally, a project that will involve the entire portal.
I'd like some tips for working with large portals, which should be prioritized in the first place. Any advice for implementing the SEO culture at last. Who can help with something, I thank
Ps: I from Brasil - Fortaleza - Ceará

Hi Natanael,
I think it's important for you to tell the right things to the right people in this case.
When you talk to the journalists, you should explain them things on keyword research (without turning them into keyword stuffing monkees) and on-page optimization like using h1, bold, alt-tags. You should also show them how to write titles and meta descriptions that are compelling so CTR in serps will be high even if you're not #1
Another important thing for the journalists is link building, they are the perfect ambassadors for a news portal, they can use their network in order to obtain quality links.
When talking to the webdesigner you should tell the front end developpers that Google is changing the looks of their serps and that they should follow these changes in order to get the maximum visibility in SERPs using snippets like rating and so on.
For backend developpers it's important that they make sure the content management system is capable of manipulating al critical elements. Manipulating seems a little bit creepy but what I mean is that you should have total control over for example:
- title, meta & url
- index, noindex
- include/not include in sitemap
- canonical
- meta & title templates
Then make sure that they are aware every part is important in SEO. You can't drive your SEO solely on on page OR links OR tech, it's the sum of the parts

Redirect to a new domain and seo effects
I created a one page blogger with listing of several affiliated websites. It gained some visibility on google but it was very plain so i decided to create a wordpress more complex and fancy and to reach the top of search positions. At the moment i decided to keep the listing on blogger and add some links on the page saying "i've moved to a new website. click for more info" and it redirects to my page. But i dont get many clicks to my new site so i was thinking to maybe create a full redirect from my blogger to my wordpress or a iframe to fetch the wordpress but im afraid it may hurt my seo on my blogger. what should i do? thanks in advance

Is it bad for seo to have a large number of external links opening in modal windows?
I've got a job board that pulls in feeds from various job sites and recruiters. Rather than losing visitors exiting my site, I thought I was being clever by opening all external links in modal windows, so the user can 'click to close' and effectively stay on my site. I'm now starting to think this may potentially have been a bad move for SEO. Is there any evidence to suggest this? Simon

SEO-Friendly FAQ Software
Hi, We use Kayako Supportsuite (help desk and FAQ software) installed on our site and it's causing about 80% of all our SEO errors/issues. I've googled a lot and I can't seem to find a FAQ software (we need the ability to maintain and constantly update a large # of questions) that doesn't have duplication (print version, pdf version of each question, etc.), terrible URL structure and an overall very cheesy look. We don't need the helpdesk part, just FAQ functionality. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!
