Who is Mozcon for?
-
Hello!
I own and operate an online retail store for batteries. Basically, I live and die on search engine ranking. I have been working with two well established SEO companies that have significantly strengthened my standings in both Bing and Google search engines. I have a good understanding of SEO and the various aspects that it is comprised of.
My question to you guys - should I attend Mozcon? Is this event geared more towards marketing companies or is there any potential for a small SEO savvy business owner to attend? Stepping away from my company for four days is a rather large commitment at the current moment - I need to be certain this event is worth it for someone like me.
Any thoughts?

Hi Richard,
As an SEO who works with small to medium-sized businesses, I have to say that the more genuine understanding a client has of what we are doing and why, the less time I have to waste explaining things to them.
My most cherished client is one who has taken the time to develop a real understanding of the process and the pitfalls. Investing in making yourself more helpful to those who are helping you is always a good idea...and since it is likely they may also be represented at Mozcon, it could be an awesome opportunity to spend some time and gain a deeper understanding of the work they are doing and the challenges they face in doing it.
My special client is the ONLY one who doesn't say things like "do we really need to bother with that" on a regular basis. I love him for it and I know it makes me more valuable to him in the long run.
Hope we'll see you at Mozcon

If you live and die by search marketing than MozCon is the place for you. Our content is intermediate/advanced topics and covers for many different types of markets from small business owners to medium companies and agencies or huge companies. You should be able to walk away with a lot of information directly applicable to your work.
Some people MozCon isn't for:
1. Super beginners -- our audience is intermediate to advanced, and it would probably be over their heads.
2. People who aren't into inbound marketing. If you're not into SEO, social media, content marketing, analytics, or conversion rate optimization, MozCon probably isn't of interest to you.

I think there's considerable value in understanding more that goes into SEO and how you can build your business both short term and long term in the World of Search. When you say "Basically, I live and die on search engine ranking.", that really answers the question itself for you.

Going to Mozcon - what to do in Seattle
Hi I know this isn't technically an SEO question, but wanted people's advice. As I am flying half way round the world I am actually arriving on the Friday and have Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday to go and explore Seattle. I plan on going to watch a baseball game and visit the home of Starbucks (and I hate coffee, but thought might as well visit), but what else would people recommend doing / seeing in Seattle. Thanks in Advance Andy

I'm trying to track down Jessica Bowman's Keyword Research ROI Excel template from this year's MozCon. Does it exist?
This presentation was awesome - and I've just encountered a pitch that would be ideal for this type of analysis. In looking through my notes from MozCon I don't see a download link - nor can I find one in the presentation. It was the 11:30 - 12:00pm timeslot on day 3 of MozCon: http://www.seomoz.org/mozcon-live/agenda Can someone point me in the right direction? Cheers, J

Mozcon Questions
Hello All, I'm a total newbie to SEOmoz and am totally addicted. I'm seriously considering going to Seattle Mozcon. I would really like to hear some feedback from newbies who went last year. It would be really nice to hear if you learned a lot and if you have incorporated some of your Mozcon education into your SEO strategy. It looks to be a pretty long event and every day seems to be completely filled with things I probably don't want to miss. That said, it would be a really large investment of my time. Is it worth all this time? Thanks!
