Displaying desired domain in search engines
-
Last year I registered a hosting and domain account for Mummyzboy.tv.
Then we added Mummyzboy.com domain to the account.
Then the client wanted the .com to be the main domain so we:
-
Made the .com become primary domain for the hosting account.
-
Changed the webmastertool account url to the .com
-
Changed all .tv for .com in the sitemap and re-submit it.
It's been a month now since the last mods and over a year the the primary domain was change but Google still displays Mummyzboy.tv in his results, any tips?

You want to redirect the entire domain. See "Redirect Old domain to New domain using htaccess redirect" at http://www.webconfs.com/how-to-redirect-a-webpage.php
-
Thx, this seams to be the way to go, I am the webmaster/programmer of the site but I am also new to some aspect of it like Htaccess, cannonical url and such.
So should the index file be 301'd to the main domain simply or is there many url format to redirect? I did:
redirect 301 /index.html http://www.mummyzboy.com/index.html
Is this enought or do I need to add a combinasion of www/non-www/every possible parameters ?
-
Most importantly, both domains are still serving the content. In fact they appear to be serving it with and without the www. as well, which isn't ideal.
You need to make sure that the old domain does a 301 redirect to the new one. Your webmaster can probably sort this out for you in minutes by editing the .htaccess file.
That will make sure that people are always redirected to the correct domain. It will also ensure that google is always redirected to the correct domain. Additionally, the equity passed from links pointing to the old domain will also be passed to the new one.
It's a very easy fix and will probably sort out the issue for you and bring a few additional benefits very quickly.

How does nudity on a site affect search results?
One of my clients sells lingerie and with it being lingerie there are a fair few photos of bottoms and some exposed breasts. Gosh. Anyway I know how this affects Adwords campaigns - Google classifies the site as 'adult' and your ads don't show anywhere. I also know how it affects image searches. However how does it affect text seaches?? Are rankings demoted because of nudity? I've worked with a clothing site with some nudity on it before and this didn't affect it, but would love to hear from anyone with specific experience of thisThanks

Effect of changes on the Content page on search ranking
Hi, I have a question related to my ranking on Google Search On the content pages of my website, there is a section where our content keeps on changing. Whenever a visitor enters new information, Old information will be removed from the page. Therefore our content page is dynamic. Does this make us difficult to rank for particular keyword / overall.

What does the New Frontier of Search Look Like? (Mobile and Tablet)
I'd like to start a discussion thread on the direction of search as it applies to mobile and tablet. Jeff Haden, one of our Inc.com contributors, wrote an article headline stating that SIRI would be the end of SEO. However, what the article really talks about is the direction mobile search is likely to take: 1. Search results will be bypassed 2. Even more emphasis on local 3. PPC will be irrelevant 4. Emphasis on social media I think these insights are fairly intuitive and it will be really interesting to see how the medium for mobile and tablet develops. It will be interesting to see what technologies will shape the means by which users find information and not just the search intent of the user. Please add any insights you may have or good reads you'd like to share here.
