Dupe content report showing in 'Errors' section when surely should be in 'Warnings' section ?
-
Why is the dupe content info showing in errors and not warnings ?
Since if dupe content can get your site penalised (as per Panda) or worse banned, surely it should be in that section of reports ?
Cheers

Cool !, thanks for clarifying Dr Pete !

Ah, I understand what you're saying. I think part of it may be that many of the errors are more technical in nature - they're severe, but not generally "black-hat" or "gray-hat" kind of things. Massive dupe content can get you hit with Panda, but people debate whether that's a Capital-P "penalty" (which some reserve mostly for manual penalties). Unfortunately, it is a bit of a loaded word.
Of course, all the copy is changing in Moz Analytics, so this may be a moot point

Hey Dr Pete, thanks for commenting
Sorry to be confusing, i appreciate i'm probably being a tad pedantic here but i just would have thought that the subheader for the 'crawl errors' section in the reports summary would, similar to the 'crawl warnings' subheader, also mention 'could be penalised' (due to things like dupe content being potential causes of a penalty) ?
All Best

Sorry, I'm confused - we do consider it very serious, and "error" is our top level of priority.
-
i would have thought getting penalized by engines more serious
-
Yes, errors are a more severe category than warnings.
-
Perhaps their word choice is off, but from my understanding "errors" are more severe than 'warnings," hence the red for errors vs the yellow for warnings. They probably put "dupe content" in errors, because it's more dangerous for your site.

Calling all 301 htaccess Guru's - www to non www - then to https + Redirect homepage to inner page
I have tried searching, multiple opinions and multiple things that supposedly work. What I have now, seems to work from an end user perspective, but Roger tells me otherwise: Redirect Chain issue....redirect, which redirects which redirects etc..... FIRST, we need to redirect all www to non www. SECOND, we need to redirect all to https. THIRD, we need to redirect the homepage to an inner page. (Got to love BOGUS DMCA complaints! :)?) So far we have: RewriteEngine on
Moz Bar | | Jes-Extender-Australia
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mydomain.com.au$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.mydomain.com.au$
RewriteRule ^/?$ "https://mydomain.com.au/inner-page-here" [R=301,L] Plus down the page there is the usual wordpress settings: <ifmodule mod_rewrite.c="">RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]</ifmodule> So, why does it seem to work for the end user, but Roger has his knickers in a knot saying, redirect, to redirect to redirect etc? Namaste and many thank you's in advance 🙂0 -
Site crawl only shows homepage
Hi everyone, A client of us has a quite new website with a lot of URLs. (Google Search Console indicates around 5300.) However, when I execute a site crawl with screaming frog, or a crawl test in MOZ, it only shows me one URL, the homepage. Does somebody have an idea why the other pages of the website are not showing up? Thanks,

Trying to duplicate Screaming Frog report
I am trying to use the crawl report to generate the Screaming Frog report shown below. I want to use it to calculate the internal page rank as Paul Shapiro outlined in this article. Google is not seeing my site the way I want them to and I want to work on the site heirarchy and structure. I am not seeing where: Type, Anchor, and Alt are listed in the crawl report - is it called something else? Is there another report I can run for the whole site to generate the data above? Does the Moz PA already calculate the internal PR of pages? Any additional resources or people that could help me with this? Thanks, SAM

Past reports?
I have a customer report set up for a client set to send weekly. A couple of weeks ago we didn't get the report and nor did we. I can't see a reason why and I can't see a way to get hold of past reports. Does anyone have any idea of how to do this or if it's even possible?

Does anyone else have issues with Moz's keyword search volume tool for Google's search engine?
It will show the search volume for Bing even when Google is selected. Then, if you select Bing, you'll get the same data as it shows for when you selected "google". So basically, this tool does not work for Google's search engine. Or it is most likely not a reliable way to perform keyword research. Anyone else notice this? Does Moz even offer a way to submit a support ticket to get this fixed?

Where to find one off crawl report
Hello, I don't know if I am being a bit daft but I don't seem to be able to find the area where I can request a one off crawl report anymore (rather than setting up a campaign). Can someone let me know where this is now? Thanks!

Can we export branded reports from Moz Analytics Beta yet?
Hey guys, Just looking around the new Moz-alytics (droooool) and it is superb, but are we able to export and build reports from it yet? Or is this something that will be in the final release? Apologies if this has already been asked. Regards! Joe Sturgess
