Keyphrase / Keyword arrangement
-
Hi all,
What are your thoughts on the arrangement of keyphrases / words? For example, does it make a difference if the words are arranged in the following way:
"Keyword 1 Keyword 2"
or
"Keyword 2 Keyword 1"
Both ways make a phrases which is favourable in the search engines. Can I stick with 1 way or should I be going with both arrangements.
Hope that is clear

I try and get as many keywords in one keyword as possible.
"Dog's tasty chews" has "Dog's tasty chews"* and "tasty chews"
"Tasty chews for dogs" has "Tasty chews for dogs", "tasty chews" and "chews for dogs".
The first one only has 1 variant that is "dog specific"* to the product (chews), the second has 2. I don't put an adjective after a noun, the word "for" keeps cropping up in my keyword research as being useful.
I go for singular (people aren't looking to buy your whole stock just one item from it).
"Piano" 450,000 Global exact match, low competition.
"Pianos" - 27,100 GEM high competition
Awesome!

Hey Brett,
Try this recent post on Searcher Intent:
http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/searcher-intent-my-main-focus-when-it-comes-to-keyword-research
I would say arrange for how it makes sense for users/searchers and not necessarily for search engines at all. Look to the audience and you'll be on target IMO.
Hope this helps!

[Very Urgent] More 100 "/search/adult-site-keywords" Crawl errors under Search Console
I just opened my G Search Console and was shocked to see more than 150 Not Found errors under Crawl errors. Mine is a Wordpress site (it's consistently updated too): Here's how they show up: Example 1: URL: www.example.com/search/adult-site-keyword/page2.html/feed/rss2 Linked From: http://an-adult-image-hosting.com/search/adult-site-keyword/page2.html Example 2 (this surprised me the most when I looked at the linked from data): URL: www.example.com/search/adult-site-keyword-2.html/page/3/ Linked From: www.example.com/search/adult-site-keyword-2.html/page/2/ (this is showing as if it's from our own site) http://a-spammy-adult-site.com/search/adult-site-keyword-2.html Example 3: URL: www.example.com/search/adult-site-keyword-3.html Linked From: http://an-adult-image-hosting.com/search/adult-site-keyword-3.html How do I address this issue?

Why is our pagerank is still only 3/10?
Hi, Our site https://soundbetter.com has been live for 2 years now, and as of yet we haven't yet been able to get our PageRank above 3/10. We have thousands of unique pages and plenty of original contextual content, we avoid duplicate content best we can, follow google's best practices for site structure, deal with any issues that come up in webmaster tools, have schema.org markup, avoid link spamming, have inbound links from authority sites (though OSE doesn't show most of them for some reason), lots of social shares to our pages and the domain has been owned by us for 12 years. Any thoughts on why we would still have a PR of 3? Thanks for helping

I understand it's a bad idea to have multiple websites promoting the same thing, but i'd like to capture the customer base of a competing website. What's everyone's thoughts? A- Merge new to main website with 301's? will google like that? B- Keep them separate? Will google like that? C- Don't bother. D- Toss the computer and get into Horticulture

How many time should a keyword be used in the body of text?
We employee an outside agency to write content for our website as we do not have the ability in house to write unique and good quality content. They have just sent an article which is around 300 words. I told them the keyword phrases to use. When I got the document there is only 1 instance of the keyword phrase(s) in it. Now there seems to be a conflict here amongst posts I have read and general SEO advise as to how many times it should be present (SEOmoz indicates 4 times for instance), our outside agency says it doesn't matter. Now if I have a page optimised for 2 keywords this starts making things tricky and probably looks keyword stuffed to the reader. Assuming the keywords are present once in meta tags, H1, meta descriptions and alt text, what do people think is best practice taking into account recent panda updates? Thoughts appreciated. Thanks Craig
