Getting Google Plus Page to Appear
-
I've recently been making changes and updates to my company's verified local Google + page--my question is when and/or how do I configure it to appear in the search results? When I type my business into Google (Exchange Capital Management), it's not even within the results displayed. The page isn't accessible unless someone were to Google "Exchange Capital Management Google Plus." As mentioned, the page has been verified, updated, and has about 8,000+ views. Any advice or feedback is appreciated!
All best,
Lauren McLaughlin

Assuming this is your page -- https://plus.google.com/+ExchangeCapitalManagementIncAnnArbor/about -- about the only thing I could suggest is get some reviews. That would show more engagement than anything else. The Google+ page showed up when I searched for your company's name, but then I'm nowhere near Michigan.

Thanks for your response, Ryan.
I am still a bit confused after seeing similar local firms' Google + pages appear next to the business name--these competitors have similar, if not less engagement on their pages. Guess I'll just continue to step it up! Thanks again.

Hi Lauren. Cyrus wrote a nice post on this last year: http://moz.com/blog/google-plus-tips-seo, specifically, "For this method to work, it requires that your visitors actually engage." (Emphasis his). The rest of the tips break down how to incorporate the work you do there with the work you do on your site.
Next, appearance is partially a branded search question. Sometimes if there's not high enough volumes, Google doesn't incorporate it within the search results. Still, if you begin integrating it more and get user interactions: follows, reviews, comments, etc.you'll be much more likely to get it to show up. Cheers!

How to Merge Existing Google Local and Google Business pages?
Hey everyone, I'm getting a wee bit frustrated. I have looked at every blog post I can about merging Google Local and Google Business Pages and I can't figure it out. I already have a verified Google Local page here https://plus.google.com/107404063103285095864/about?gl=CA&hl=en-CA and a Google Business Page here https://plus.google.com/b/100116630212547145177/100116630212547145177/posts . Both are already verified. How do I merge these existing profiles which are already verified?

Googe+ personal profile & business page conundrum
I have asked this question before and am still seeking help. My apologies for being repetitive and hopefully not too pesky but I am sincere in my search for guidance. I am looking for advice on how to manage my personal G+ profile along with my business G+ page. My challenge is the coordination between the two and getting people to add our biz page to their Circles instead of to me personally through my personal profile. Google+ requires that we have personal profiles- especially for authorship, but it's my business that I want to represent and promote. I do have the Google+ badge on my website and blog posts. And I am duplicating my posts on both the personal and business pages. I have joined a couple of communities and know that i need to find more and engage in those. And also, another question this brings up: in terms of the social signal aspect for our company website/blog, does it matter where I am building my Circles?

Google auto-correct affecting one of my keywords
Hi there, I have a keyword "finao montreal" that used to rank 8 or 9 in Google serp. All of a sudden it dropped under the top 50 results, I was wondering why and I found out that Google now auto-corrects "finao montreal" to "final montreal". Finao is a well know brand of custom high-end photo albums and I find it strange that Google corrects it. Anyone has an idea on what to do with this situation? Is there a way to provide Google some feedback about the autocorrect?

Strategies for getting more listings on first of google
We have a client who is looking to increase the number of results on page 1 of google for their brand name to essentially force some historical negative comments off page 1 of google. I am thinking of things like a twitter page, Facebook page, YouTube page etc. plus optimising their site to try and get multiple pages on page 1. Does any one have experience of doing the same sort of thing?

Has anyone had success with product page rel=author? Can I protect the content but dump the face on the SERPS?
Hi, Is there a way to get the benefits of rel=author for protecting site content but to disconnect that from the face photo on the SERPS? We added rel=author to our unique and individually written product descriptions and reviews. This has led to a decrease in click thru thus far. I suspect this is because when searching for a product to buy the user sees the face and thinks "review" or at least "not corporate". I don't nec. want to dump rel=author in the sea yet for our ecom pages, has anyone had success with product page rel=author? Four our keywords, we are the only company of 10 well known travel sites that have the face in the SERPS, far from improving our CTR, it has trashed it. Any ideas?

Should we have customers like our URL or our Facebook brand page?
(Note: main question in bold) I know this post basically establishes that Facebook shares are not a strong cause of increased rankings. But what about likes? I've searched and read through the forum and YouMoz blog but haven't really found this question answered. We just redesigned our site and we're implementing sharing options in the booking and order completion processes - should we point the Facebook Like button to like our URL or our Facebook brand page (currently with 3,800+ likes)? Seems that a like of the URL would be more direct ranking value (what we're going for), but according to that same post mentioned above, Google doesn't crawl or index FB wall pages... so is all Facebook activity - shares, url likes, brand page likes - for naught? (at least for now, till Google starts using that info)

Signals to trigger Google Shopping Results?
I am in the process of setting up a shopping cart for a customer. We will probably use osCommerce. Are there established best practices and guidelines to make one's cart trigger results in the Google "Shopping" category? For instance, using microdata and the semantic markup from Schema.org? Any experience here is welcome.
