Best Practice for Inserting Keywords into Title Tag?
-
Hello Fellow Mozers I am looking to open a discussion for my question. I will give an example to clarify things.
I have a keyword I want to rank "London Luxury Apartments" Which title would be best or what would you suggest in addition to the titles below:
Option A) London Luxury Apartments | Luxury London Apartments | Brand Name
Option B) London Luxury Apartments | Luxury Apartments in London | Brand Name
Option C) London Luxury Apartments | Luxury Apartments for Sale in London | Brand Name
Any other option not displayed above that you have extensively tested and know it works.
Have in mind the following :
I am aware of the 55 character limit so lets not make this discussion about the character Limit. I want to keep the discussion on the Keyword Format and Keyword Logic of using the same keyword just in a different order.
The above is just an example in order to best illustrate what I wish to talk about.
Round one... Begin!!

A strong DA. Are you ranking for those keywords already? or are you building a new page?
-
That is some great advice thank you.
The site is not that old i.e only went live about 3-4 years ago. The DA is 40 at the moment.

A couple of things. The 5 reasons why people click on a typical SERP in order are:-
Page Rank
Brand
Title
Description
URL
The Title is far more important to clickability than the description. Not suggesting disregard the description as it is important as well - where you have fun and place your CTA. When targeting traffic it is always best to take a "beach head" first. Most people go to Semrush or Adwords - and choose the word with most traffic and target it - and then never rank for it. Because it is too competitive. If your website has a high DA do what you are doing - if it is a start-up then slow down - take a beach head. It might be "Luxury Apartments Chelsea" instead .
Next question what is your DA? ie is over 25?
-
Very constructive answer and a good way to kick things off. I thank you.
In response to your question I am selling. But obviously if i add something like "Buy / sell luxury apartments in London" in the title then Search volume of that keyword is considerably lower than simply the search intent of "Luxury London Apartments" Yes I realize the traffic would be much more relevant thus increasing my CTR thus rankings for that keywords however What if the client had a "hard on" for that particular keyword.
Also I realize the options listed might in fact seem a bit spammy and will agree that I am mostly thinking SEO and not Clickability Factor however I find that when i did a small research some time ago it seems that most people actually decide whether or not to click on the site by looking at the description. Simply because they are already assured that Google will already serve them the most relevant results either way so they dont have to go through the process of looking at the page titles to decide rather than the description. If that makes sense?
-
It is actually not a character limit - it is a pixel limit for the title. 512 pixels and then it truncates. ie WW's are a problem and II's are great.
On which one to choose.
They all look a bit spammy. There is an SEO -v- Clickability factor. You are thinking SEO not clickability. Recommend you consider both.
The question I have is are you Leasing or selling or both? What query are you answering to the consumer?

Some of my brand keywords have a suspicious constant search visibility percentage.
Hi, I am having doubts about my search visibility on my brand key words, all of them have a constant rate of 32.50% and don't move up or down in months, even that when I track my site it has a great variety of organic entries each week. what can be the issue, if it's an issue, or why it's the search visibility not changing? Thanks for your responses.

Benefits of adding keywords to site structure?
Hello fellow Mozzers, This is kind of a hypothetical, but it might have implications for future projects. Do you think there would be any benefits (or drawbacks) to placing pages of a site into a directory named after a keyword? For example, if I had a local store that sold hockey equipment, and "hockey", "equipment", and "hockey equipment" were the main targets being optimized for, would it be better (assuming the actual pages were the same) to structure the site as hypotheticalwebsite.com/about-us/ hypotheticalwebsite.com/hockey-skates/ hypotheticalwebsite.com/hockey-sticks/ hypotheticalwebsite.com/blog/ or hypotheticalwebsite.com/hockey-equipment/about-us/ hypotheticalwebsite.com/hockey-equipment/hockey-skates/ hypotheticalwebsite.com/hockey-equipment/hockey-sticks/ hypotheticalwebsite.com/hockey-equipment/blog/ Additionally, would any of this change if the root domain or the individual pages ALSO used those keywords (or if both of them used it)? pseudonyms-hockey-gear.com/hockey-equipment/skates/ pseudonyms-penalty-box.com/hockey-equipment/hockey-skates/ pseudonyms-hockey-gear.com/hockey-equipment/hockey-skates/ I've got a hunch that some of these are overkill, but I'm not sure where the scale tips from helpful to negligible to actively counterproductive. Thanks, everyone!

Keyword Cannibalization? My home page is ranking higher for a keyword that another page is targeting
Hello! My website's http://lessonsgowhere.com.sg/ and we're a marketplace for local lessons. I've been working on the site's SEO for maybe 3 to 4 months now, and am seeing some good results. The one thing that really bugs me right now is that my homepage is ranking for a keyword that I'm trying to target with another page. Specifically, I'm targeting the group of keywords for 'cooking class', 'cooking lessons', 'cooking class singapore' with the category page: http://lessonsgowhere.com.sg/cooking-classes However, my home page is currently ranking on the first page for local search (Google Singapore), and my category page isn't! On the other hand, the page that I'm targeting for 'baking class', 'baking lessons', and 'baking class singapore' is doing fine and is already in the top 3 positions for the entire group of keywords. Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do?

Should I use keywords in all my URLs?
I couldn't find anything online that really covers my exact question. If I wanted to change my home page URL, (currently along the lines of "http://example.com/home") would it be a good idea to change it to "http://example.com/dallas-auto-repair"? Then on the "services page" I might change the URL to "http://example.com/dallas-auto-services". Pages like the contact page would probably remain simply "example.com/contact" Theoretically by putting my main keywords right there in the URL, I would imagine that I could get moved up in the SERPs. Am I wrong? So if this is a bad idea, please let me know why. If this is a good idea, do you have any articles or references that cover this, or even personal experience?

Do you need exact match geographically targeted keywords for ranking within a specified city limit?
For example, I have a personal injury law firm in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I only care about potential clients searching within the city limits of Sheboygan (and not within the state of Wisconsin or on a national level). Do the following elements need to contain an exact match geographically targeted keyword if I only care about ranking locally in Sheboygan, Wisconcsin? (The type of keyword phrase I'm referring to would be Sheboygan Personal Injury Lawyers, Sheboygan Car Accident Lawyers, etc.) Title Tag Meta Description Main Headline Body Content Should I not include an exact match geographically targeted keyword in my content and trust that Google can make the association with where I'm located by other factors on the website? Website factors: Google local business page is setup linking to my website Other local listings have been claimed and setup properly My contact page contains our full address and phone number My footer contains our full address and phone number on every page

Local SEO + Best Practice for locations
Hi All, Based on a hypothetical scenario, lets say you are a plumber. You live and operate within Chelsea in London. You have established a Google places profile and incorporated schema data to tell Google your fixed place location. In addition you operate in several nearby towns with no fixed location presence. i.e Brentford, Bromley, Catford, Cheswick and Tottenham. I create a feature rich page on 'How to find a quality plumber'. Within the page I incorporate the following description: blah blah, as a quality plumber serving the community of Chelsea, we also offer our services to nearby towns of Brentford, Bromley, Catford, Cheswick and Tottenham. I create hyperlinks for the towns (Brentford, Bromley, Catford, Cheswick and Tottenham) that allow the user see in details a full list of services, operation hours, etc. Naturally all towns will have there own unique content (no duplication). Question

Is the above scenario the correct way to provide local seo or is this approach considered spammy to Google? Thanks Mark0
