Hi does anyone know the correct hreflang for the UK
Google webmaster error:
International Targeting | Language > 'en-GB' - no return tags (sitemaps)Sitemap provided URLs and alternate URLs in 'en-GB' that do not have return tags.Thanks you all

If your site is only in English you don't need to use hreflang tags at all.

But what if my site is only in english and not multi language.. do i need to use the above.
Using Flang, I tested BBC.co.uk and Moz.com and both do not use hreflang...

Well, you have two .com.com in there ... so that's in general wrong.
But yes, it's en-gb, not en-UK.
You just have to have all the tags on all the pages. You can use Flang to see what's wrong as well.

Generally when you get the no return tags error it means that you put a hreflang for one page but not the referring page.
Let's say your pages are:
If you put hreflang tags on /en but not the rest, you'll get the no return tags error.
So just put the full hreflang tag set on every page that uses any one of the languages and you'll solve this error. Also see Webmasters Support for more info.

Is there an automated way to test what HREFLANG is ranking for in google and yandex?
Hi everyone, We implemented HREFLANG code for our international sites. We are wondering is there an automated way to test is HREFLANG is working vs. manually browsing in each international search engine? Also, we implemented this a few days ago, and google webmaster tools stlil hasn't picked up that we have it implemented. I've heard it taking anywhere from 2-8 days. At what point would we see results. our site is http://www.datacard.com Is there an order that the site listings have to follow, for example should x-default be the last item listed? Thanks, Laura

Brand 2 Shoes "Name of Model" Now, what I'm worried about is that if I do a search for "Brand 2 Shoes" it should bring up my landing page right? But it doesn't, it brings up some of the products instead... I'm worried that we may be self cannibalizing some of the keywords - and thinking of changing the product page to be "Brand Name of Model Shoes" or "Name of Model Shoes by Brand" Any ideas or comments appreciated! My Site is built for a U.S. audience, but my xml:lang in view source is en-gb?
Hi Ya'll, I have a U.S. based site with english content, but my xml lang in my view source ode is in en-gb. Should i change it to "en-US"? Or should i just change it to just "en", that way i can target all english speaking countries..... And if i do make the switch, does it make a difference in my traffic and SEO for the U.S.? Site Explorer, Social Media Count. Am I linking my social media correctly?
How do I correctly link my social media pages? I have link going from my Twitter, Facebook and Google + to my website. But a quick Open site explorer check says that I have, 0 Facebook Friends, 0 Twitter followers and 0 Google + Followers. Where as in relaity, I have 100 - 1000 follwers on each. Infact, the hyperlink from my Twitter Profile section doesn't appear as a no follow link atall on an OSE check of my website. Am I linking social media wrong?

Google Not Indexing Description or correct title (very technical)
Hey guys, I am managing the site: http://www.theattractionforums.com/ If you search the keyword "PUA Forums", it will be in the top 10 results, however the title of the forum will be "PUA Forums" rather than using the code in the title tag, and no description will display at all (despite there being one in the code). Any page other than the home-page that ranks shows the correct title and description. We're completely baffled! Here are some interesting bits and pieces: It shows up fine on Bing If I go into GWT and Fetch as Google Bot, it shows up as "Unreachable" when I try to pull the home-page. We previously found that it was pulling 'index.htm' before 'index.php' - and this was pulling a blank page. I've fixed this in the .htaccess however to make it redirect, however this hasn't solved the problem. I've disallowed it from pulling the description .etc from the Open Directory with the use of meta tags - didn't change anything. It's vBulletin and is running vBSEO Any suggestions at all guys? I'll be forever in anyones debt who can solve this, it's proving to be near impossible to fix. Any ideas for capturing keywords that your client rejects because they aren't politically correct?
Here's the scenario: you need to capture a search phrase that is very widely used in common search, but the term is considered antiquated, overly vernacular, insensitive or outright offensive within the client's industry. In this case, searchers overwhelmingly look for "nursing homes," but the term has too many negative connotations to the client's customers, so they won't use it on-page. Some obvious thoughts are to build IBLs or write an op-ed/blog series about why the term is offensive. Any other ideas?
