What hosting provider do you use? I think mine is letting down my SEO!
-
Hello
I am curious to what hosting plans you are using, and what you would recommend.
I am currently paying £30 per month for shared reseller hosting with tsohost and having problems every week with my most popular website (1-10k hits a day). website gets internal errors and intermittently goes extremely slow.
I have about 10 sites in total most very small traffic. So just looking for something fast, good for WordPress sites and ideally good for migrating over onto.
Please let me know your recommendations. My budget is £100 per month, ideally a little less.
Thanks!
Steven

Hello Steven,
Thank you for reaching out. Given your budget and requirements, I would recommend considering a Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting plan. This would provide you with more dedicated resources, better performance, and the ability to handle the traffic of your popular website more effectively. Providers like Fasthosts, as mentioned in a previous message, offer VPS plans that may suit your needs well.
Additionally, you might want to explore managed WordPress hosting services, as they are optimized for WordPress sites and typically offer good performance and reliability. Providers like WP Engine, SiteGround, or Bluehost can be considered.
Remember to review the specific features and pricing of each hosting option to find the one that aligns best with your requirements and budget. (Study abroad) (Mechanical engineering) (Canada PR) (PMP Exam Prep)

had spikes of 1M visits a day. Happend over 2013 and 2014.
Again, that is a website that consumes almost nothing of resources, just 4-5 pure HTML pages getting 6 lines from database. -
You're telling me that you are paying $10 a month for a site that spikes at 1 Million visits a day?
What's the max client on the server?
-
1M = 1million.
well, to be stricly fair, it depends on how many resources we web consumes.
That 1M visits in a day were to a website with just 5 pages of pure HTML.The best to do here is to contact some that specializes in web hosting/servers performance and match the needs of Steven's website.
-
Gaston - Is that 1M 1 Million or 1 Thousand?
He needs to cope with 10 Thousand and for that, he will need his own server.

Nigel

Hello Steven,
I personally recommend banahosting, its shared hosting (plan of ~10 usd) really worked for me. Having nearly houndred websites and sometimes some sites with spikes of 1M visits in a day.
Here its website: banahosting.com, if you'd like my referral link.
Also its support is really awesome, had several problems, from hacks, to too many visits/active users online. Always with a response within a few hours. If you need more power, i'd recommend linoVPS, i've know them as the big hoting behind banahosting, the problem there is that you need some VPS expertise or have to hire someone to configure the hosting.
Hope I've helped.
Best luck.

Hi Stephen
Honestly, if you are getting 1-10k a day then being on a shared server is really not ideal. You are at the mercy of all the other sites on that server and when they start chewing up the bandwidth you are really going to see a slowdown in performance.
I use Fasthosts and pay them £94 a month for my VPS which I run 5 websites on. It's reasonably easy to understand the Plesk interface and I can re-start it ay any time and the price includes two backups per month.
I'm sure there are similar deals out there with other providers I just wanted to give you an idea of what I had done. Maybe think about a full SSL when you move as well if you don't already have one.
This is the spec:
vCPUs:2
vCPUsMemory:8GB
System disk:40GB
Storage disk:40 GBRegards
Nigel

User ganarated reviews and SEO
Have ideas on how to present hundreds of user ganarated reviews on website in a Google friendly way? "Load more" / calling APIs / or pagination seems to have disadvantages for ranking for this content. Any suggestions, inspiration, tools and articles appreciated.

Want to use Google Business Pages but Spam Reviews are putting me off
Not sure if I am missing something here...I have phoned and asked Google business how they deal with reviews which are potentially fake and damaging to a business reputation, it seems there is very little a small local business can do about them other than report the review with no guarantee of anyone helping ...Has anyone else had this issue as I would really like to use this service to assist with rankings on google? It is hard to convince (and to be honest I don't want to have to convince!) a local business that this is a good service at the same time as informing them they will more than likely have to spend extra time fending off fake reviews...Not seen any good answers anywhere else, ignoring the reviews, adding more positive reviews or replying/managing reviews are not an option. Hope someone can help with this, thanks

Is Google Plus really very beneficial to a business, as our experience is that this is where difficult customers or even competitors can write bad reviews?

Review of my site, just starting seo and looking for any tips
Hello, Just after advice for a website I've recently relaunched, started very basic seo. However having loads of pages it’s hard to dedicate the time to get the on-site seo completed. Question for Ecommence sites, do we really need to individually content on all pages? I've also start link building & will be setting up blog, Am debating which task too complete first Or maybe combination of them all. I think due to my dyslexia I keep putting the blog off as you can properly tell English is definitely not one of my strengths. Anyway am looking for advice not just on seo , design too, what your opinions ? I have good concept for marketing just learning the ways to implement it, my website sportingdesires dot com. I believe everyone desires some kind of sport or fitness activity, a hobby you enjoy... mine is football (soccer) hence why I started selling branded football merchandise and ventured into Rugby, Basketball and American football. Will be adding other sports, really need to impermanent a blog... all in good time I suppose. Sorry for my rambling please leave any feedback good or bad I promise I won’t hunt ya down (lol) in all serious am just looking for eyes from people it always help to get mixed reviews and opinions. If you’ve read this far well done and thanks ste

Started using a 3rd Party Review Company for our Website. Do we need to show the reviews or is a widget (badge) with a link back to review company sufficient enough from an SEO ranking point of view?
Hi All, We have started to use a 3rd party review company and now have the choice of either implementing their re-supplied widgets (Java ) on our site showing customer reviews or use their an API to get this information. The widgets (Java) , would be loaded once the page is actually loaded so I am not sure how and if google will read this information if at all? If we use a widget then we won't be able to implement it with Schema.org although we will be able to use rich snippets to it will appear on any PPC (once we have had 30 reviews). If we go down the API route, it's more expensive for us but we can use the review schema.org for this. Does anyone have any experience of what works best for them ?.. We have a choice of having a widget showing latest reviews or just a badge (which is actually a link to the review site showing our reviews). From an SEO point of view, is one better than the other ? Does google actually read the content of the review or is the link back to the 3rd party review company sufficient enough to help with rankings etc. Am I correct in assuming that by linking to a 3rd party review company and showing our reviews on our site , this will help with rankings as even though the content in the reviews doesn't really say much ,. I did see it was a ranking factor on the survey but not sure how google uses this. ? I've read up some information on reviews etc but wondered what the general consensus was with what others found works best for them Any help greatly appreciated Pete
