What can I do for my website to increase speed?
What is best way to increase website speed. Here is my website: https://www.myqurantutor.com/

Hi, if you have a WordPress website, try to see if there are any WP plugins that you no longer need. However, we would recommend checking with a website developer before you delete any, to see if they are needed or not. Sometimes WP plugins are added by web designers, during the web design process, yet might not now be used. WP plugins can sometimes slow a company website down.

You can analyze the website speed using these services: Pingdom, Google PageSpeed insights, WebPageTest. I would also advise optimizing images. It is better to publish photos in JPEG format, it allows you to compress images without losing quality.

PageSpeed insights is cool but I find GTMetrix often gives more useful info. If you sign up for a free account you get access to a cool waterfall tab
Here's the complete waterfall for your homepage:

In blue I highlighted some images which are over 50KB which could be compressed a little more. In red I highlighted all the calls which your site / page makes to YouTube.com. As Greg Painter specifically said, all of these calls to YT do seem to be slowing things down and causing you problems! Any chance you can embed those resources (which your page is calling for) natively on your site? It would be faster than keep calling out to YT which has to satisfy enormous amounts of traffic as it is
-
Pretty much what Greg said - there are so many things to look into including but not limited to the below..
- Enable Compress with GZip etc
- Serve scaled images and try SVGs.
- Reduce and minify scripts, HTML and CSS
- Possibly serve images from a content delivery network
- Load scripts asyncronously
- Avoid redirects where possible, reduce DNS look ups and http requests
- Set up caching correctly.
- Use a fast server and install SSL certificate. Intially it maybe slower but you can optimise bestter and in the end should produce faster speeds via HTTP2.0.
Plus lots, lots more.
Your CSS does look to be doing a fair bit of render blocking. Maybe look to combine and reduce to essential needed items.

Hey there,
Have you tried looking over what Google recommends?
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.myqurantutor.com%2F
For example, it is saying there is a lot of loading from Youtube etc. Are you also sure the server is up to speed as well as optimized assets?
I'd also recommend digging through Moz some great stuff to try there too - https://moz.com/blog/website-page-speed
Hope some of that helps.

Website Traffic Drop After Switch
Hey guys, two weeks ago we switched over to the new website, however we've experienced about a 20% drop in Google Organic traffic and it does not appear we are getting indexed correctly by Google. On search results it's not using the meta description and the links still point to the old pages. Robots is fine We are using the same IP address Re-directs are in for the pages in question. Sitemap was submitted to Google in Webmaster tools What else do we need to do?

Can't Hyperlink After the WP 4.0 Update?
Anyone else who runs a WP site have problems hyperlinking after the 4.0 update? I read I could deactivate all my plugins, and go through them one-by-one, but before I go to that step, I want to know if there's either an easier way to regain this functionality or if there is a specific plugin that's known to cause the problem. Thanks, Ruben

Increase in 404's
Hi, We recently did a website upgrade and as a result url structure changed. There is 140 404's in Google webmaster. Just wondering on best best practice. What should be done with pages that are defiantly not being used any more? For example we used to how .com/why-choose-us* this section is gone for Good - Should I redirect to closest page on site such as .com/about or noindex all together? We also had lots of pages that were on a similar topic but now have condensed these into one or two pages on the new site. Is it OK to 301redirect 10+ 404's to one page on the new site. These will only be redirected to closely related topics so from a user point of view the new presented content will be fine. (Is this bad from a search engine point of view as in pointing lots of old 404's to one particualr page on new site) Your input is welcomed. Thanks,

Can't figure out what's going on with these strange 403's
The last crawl found a good number of 404's and I can't figure out what's going on. I don't even recognize these links. What's really strange is a few of them high a fairly decent page authority. For instance this one has a PA of 55: http://noahsdad.com/?path=http%3A%2F%2Feurosystems.it%2Fconf_commerciale%2Fimages%2Fdd.gif%3F%3F There are several more like this one also, it seems most of these new ones have "Feurosystems" in the link...I have no idea what that is. Just curious what you guys think is going on, why these are 404'ing, and how to fix it. Thanks. Edit: I took out the "%" from the links and I get this: http://noahsdad.com/?path=http3A2F2Feurosystems.it2Fconf_commerciale2Fimages2Fdd.gif3F3F which takes me to a page on my site. I have no idea what's going on, or what that link is. Hoping someone can chime in because this is strange. Another edit: I just checked out the Google Webmaster's and it looks like these errors are 403's and all started around March 21st. I have no idea what happend on March 21st to start causing all of these errors, but I'd sure like to get it fixed. 🙂

Rel Canonical tag usage on ECommerce website
Hello, I have read up on the rel canonical tag and I'm ready to apply it to my site's categorization structure. However, I'm concerned that, because my website does not have a "view all" button for our product pages, the rel canonical tag would not be appropriate. For example, if you come to my site's main category url, you come to mysite.com/main-category At this level - you get the top 12 items in the category. if you want to see the next page, you click a crawlable link that goes to mysite.com/main-category12-24 etc. etc. The site does not offer a view all function. Would applying the rel canonical tag be appropriate in this instance, or do I have to let Google crawl and index each page independantly? Thanks.
