Best Resources for taking Facebook and Google Plus to the next level
-
Hello,
I'm doing some research on Facebook and Google Plus. I have more experience with Facebook.
I'm going to do my own research, but what do you guys think is the best articles or videos for taking Facebook and Google Plus to the next level?
My goals are to engage and promote for Ecommerce and Informational sites. Low budget.
Thanks,
Bob

I was actually looking for articles, how-to-videos, resources, and suggestions.

Andy, any ideas?

For now, let's just say you have Ecommerce sites that you are promoting via Facebook. I'm not looking for anything high budget, very very low budget. This is just to compliment an Ecommerce site.
I just want to know if I'm missing things. So far we've just been very helpful to our audience, and promote our content at times. We seem to gradually build (less than 1000) likes doing this and having the Facebook like button on our home page. I've done some Facebook campaigns but we are so busy that we don't have time to make videos just for Facebook. We can promote the welcome videos and that's about it.
Just wondering about little things I don't know, without dumping a bunch of resources into Facebook. Our one new site is very low on backlinks, which is why I wanted to promote at least something on Google Plus in means of getting a link back from Google, and I would put enough time in it to draw in some followers.

Hi Bob,
Is there a reason that you want to also target G+? I hear many differing reports on successes people have on here, but if you know there is a good community that you want to break into on there, then go for it.
In terms of best articles, where do you start - Facebook marketing is a huge subject with so many guides on how to get the best from it, but most agree that Videos get the best successes.
Are you looking to promote a particular brand or is this just something you need to gather more information on?

In Google SERPs some companies / government agencies have a Google-generated card for their organization and it references their Wikipedia page. It does not show for all companies /orgs that have a Wikipedia page. What is the criteria to have it shown?
Does Google have specific criteria to show a large card in the top right of SERPs that links to a national organization's Wikipedia-referenced info? These do not appear to be the Google Business Card created by individual organizations. Example having the card and org is on wikipedia: https://www.google.com/?ion=1&espv=2#q=u.s. department of labor Example no card shown and org is on wikipedia: https://www.google.com/?ion=1&espv=2#q=Occupational+Information+network

Google plus reviews and multiple company profiles
We have a Google plus profile for our brand/ organisation which has become quite powerful. We are conscious that we don't want to miss out on local search queries so want a local page but we don't want to get rid of the company page that we have built. We are a nationwide website with one physical shop. Will having a local business Google plus page and a company Google plus page be seen as duplicate or in any way negative- especially if you are posting similar/ the same links and content on both pages. We also want to encourage reviews- is it possible to leave reviews on company pages or is it only though local G+ pages? There is a reviews tab but it does not seem possible to leave reviews. On the main Nike G+ page is it possible to leave reviews or would those companies have to set up local pages for people to review?

Google +1's and Google+ Local
Hi fellow Mozers, I manage 5 brands at the national level, each with their own Google+ profile and then under each brand, there are several hundred physical locations, each with their own Google+ Local page. My question is, should we be encouraging visitors of each location's Google+ Local profile page to +1 the page? Does it have an influence on local rankings and overall SERP results? Our goal is to ultimately get our local websites to rank better than our less targeted brand sites and have our Google+ Local pages show in search results as much as possible. Our local businesses convert to leads, where our brand sites are one step out from that and are used to feed into a "find a location" result that takes the visitor to the local site.

Add Google + button link to google page and not link
Hello SEOOOOOOOOO moz people ! I was wondering if you know how can I add Google + button to my page I tried to set it up in google page http://awesomescreenshot.com/08d1a9hmef https://plus.google.com/b/109790526955470383191/109790526955470383191/posts But i would like to link the button to my google + fan page https://plus.google.com/b/109790526955470383191/109790526955470383191/about and not the url of the page. As our website is indeed 12 websites if you go to http://www.ibremarketing.com you don't have the same +1 than http://www.ibremarketing.com/me or http://www.ibremarketing.com/ma Any idea of how to do it ? It would be amazing 😛

Structured Data - Best Practice?
I'm currently contemplating implementing ratings on some of our products. Using schema.org what would be the best approach if I have several languages for a product? Can I use the same review setup on these two pages?

www.spamfighter.com/SLOW-PCfighter/Lang_ES Is it possible to do static structured data or does the rating system have to be present and possible to rate? I noticed that Rank Tracker has a system where it's hardcoded and links to reviews. jsOGI9UtqC0 -
Where is the best location for your blog?
This is one querstion I've been thinking about for a while: where is the best location for a blog on your website for SEO purposes? In this case I'm thinking the blog as part of a commerical website. Sub domain: You could put it on a subdomain such as blog.mydomain.com which seems quite popular (blog.kissmetrics for example) but surely this is giving the blog.mydomain sub domain the SEO value and not the www.mydomain sub domain. The one value I see here is that you could host this on another server and so any links to my main website would be from a different IP address. You could also point the sub domain to a WordPress.com blog. Internal: There are two ways the blog could be run internal to the website: 1) if the website is a WordPress.org installation you could just use one category as the blog or 2) a fresh WordPress.org installation in a sub folder such as www.mydomain.com/blog. The benefits I see with #2 is that any guest posters would only have access to the blog and not the main company website and you could make the look and feel of the blog to be more "bloggy" than the main commerical website. External: TBH I don't think there is any benefit to running a blog completely external to the commerical website (such as a WordPress.com blog) unless the company provides online services so that if the main website goes down, the blog will still be running. So, from the above, which is the best way to run a commerical site blog? Or have I missed some other options?

Google Places, Optimization when in the Suburb of a Metroplex?
A client's business just recently changed addresses. Even though they are physically less than a mile from the previous location, the city has changed. This has resulted in our Google Places results dissappearing (no surprise). What is the best practice for people searching for <product><metroplex-primary-city>to still get our Google Places result, even though we are technically in a suburb of this metroplex?</metroplex-primary-city></product> Already added the primary city name to the description. What else can I do?

Google Places Pending for months..
We are a franchise with over 80 locations. We have bulk uploaded all our places pages and all but 15 of them have been approved...this was over 2 months ago!!! Any idea why the final 15 will not stop "Pending Review"?? Google has been no help!(of course) It seems the information is correct across Yelp! CitySearch, and Yahoo Local... Any ideas?
