How to connect the right GMB listing?
-
I have a Moz Local listing that has found the correct FB page but it isn't connecting/syncing with a GMB listing. I have given it a week but still nothing on GMB. Will the Google+ page that I link to in Advanced > Social Media URLs be linked with the Moz listing?
What is the best practice to tell the Moz Local listing what GMB listing to sync up with?
-
Hey there Cory,
Moz Local picks up a corresponding GMB listing automatically, provided there are a few specific things in place on that page as listed above - if we still aren't picking up the Google Maps listing, we can definitely investigate further for you.
Cancelling your existing listing and repurchasing won't have any effect if, for your current listing, we are already running into trouble finding the listing on Google.
Could you pop over a message to help@moz.com so we can take a look into your account for you?

Can I get my money back on the listing I have purchased and then purchase a new listing with the correct GMB page sync? I have updated the GMB page to match my current MOZ listing but I have not seen it sync yet.
-
Hi Cory!
This is a problem with Moz Local that we found. Sometimes the Moz listings don't recognize the correct GMB page, and if you purchase the listing without the correct GMB page, it's nearly impossible to get it to sync afterwards.
Your best bet would be to not purchase the paid Moz local listing just yet and keep checking in on it to see if it eventually picks up and recognizes the GMB page. If you purchase it without the listing, your local SEO score will be off. We've tried linking the GMB page for clients in the social profiles section, but this doesn't seem to work.
Unfortunately, until there is a way to manually add in the profile and get it to connect, your best bet is to wait or to purchase the listing knowing that your score will be slightly skewed.

Hi there Cory!
No, the Google+ page that you link to within the Moz Listing won't necessarily sync with Moz Local.
Is the problem that we aren't locating the Google page in general via the Check Listing tool, or that we seem unable to sync from the Google My Business tab on the left hand side of your Moz Local dashboard?
If it's the first option, here's a list of the criteria for the sources that will enable us to validate your listing:
- The name, address, and phone number (NAP) listed on the page must be an exact match with the listing in Moz Local.
- The primary phone number listed must be a unique local number or a toll-free number.
- The business must not be listed as a “service area business”. A service area business displays with the street address being hidden, as well as the listing not being surfaced through the Google Places API (which is where we pull the listing details from).
- The listing must be verified by postcard. As a note, it may take a couple days after the postcard verification process for the listing to be available through the Google Places API.
- The listing must be completely searchable through Google Maps, with the full NAP listed correctly.
If you're still encountering issues after taking a look at those factors or this is related to the Google My Business Tab, then I'm certainly happy to investigate - it would be great if you could pop an email over to help@moz.com, just so we can investigate directly via your account:).

Help!!! GMB Service-Area Business
Hello fello SEO’s! I’ve got some GMB questions that have been wracking my brain for the last couple weeks and need some ideas. Tl;dr - How should we properly set up service-area GMBs? Create GMBs for every county we serve? Additional context and questions below: I have an enterprise level client who operates in the flooring industry. One thing that separates them from the pack is they don’t have physical locations (service area business) despite serving mostly the entire continental US. Currently, I am working to cleanup the GMB profiles because they have been neglected. My idea/what I think is the norm, was to create GMB profiles for the major markets they served. Within those GMB’s we would target major counties served within that area aka the service areas. However, I was met with some push back on this. Someone mentioned that we should instead be creating individual GMB profiles FOR EACH county that was served. I cautioned against this mainly because of the amount of work it work it would take to create/maintain/drive reviews for/etc if we had a GMB set up for almost every county in the US. Now that we got that boring context out of the way, my question to you is this. 1. How should we properly set up service-area GMBs? Create GMBs for every county we serve? Or Create GMB’s for main markets only and list the counties served in the GMB profile backend? 2. For each GMB profile create, a matching city-page will also be created. What information should be listed on the city page? Obvs, NAP, map, reviews, etc. I’m talking about copy. Is one of our keywords in “laminate flooring installation Los Angeles” should that keyword be optimized in the Los Angeles City page? Or should the LA city page be a hub, and have multiple surrounding pages optimized around keywords. For example, just having a page dedicated to the keyword “laminate flooring installation Los Angeles” Helpful answers appreciated!

My Local listings are not showing in Moz
Hello, Our company recently moved offices, so last week I updated the contact details on all the directories we were on and created a few. These include Facebook, google plus, Google business listings, Bing, Scoot, Factual.com, Central Index, Thomson local etc etc. I have re-checked and the details are all correct - address, name, website, telephone number - however when I check my local listings in Moz, only two are showing. Is there anything else I can do?

We have 2 verified listing in Moz Local, one verified by Google and one verified by Facebook. Can I bring them together?
The thing is, the listing verified through Google also has metrics for listings within a number of other direct networks, and the listing verified with Facebook has metrics showing for other direct networks. It would be good if I could bring these together and get a better overall picture of how our local listings are optimised.

Submitted listings for Removal via MOZ local 7 months - still showing 'Request Submitted'
I manage multiple health care practices and have them submitted to MOZ Local. The main reason for this is to clean up and remove listings with inconsistent business names, addresses and phone numbers on aggregators such as InfoUSA and Localeze. I felt MOZ Local would be something that could save time and money for myself and clients so I wouldn't have to do the phone verification game for sites such as InfoUSA and localeze. In some cases I submitted for removal aggregator listings 7-8 months ago but they are still showing the same 'Request Submitted'. What is the standard time I can expect these requests to go through. I sort of feel duped believing that MOZ would remove duplicate/incorrect listings somewhat quickly. If anyone else has a similar experience or a timeframe of removal for sites MOZ works with that would be great.

Moz local is telling me that I don't have a Google+ listing when I actually do. What is the problem?
I have about 7 of my clients listings currently in Moz Local. It's showing that we don't have a Google+ listing when we actually do. Everything I have in Google My Business (NAP) matches what I have in Moz Local. It's a service based business and Google has recommended that we hide the address since consumers don't actually visit my clients location. Could that be the issue? If so, how do we take care of this?

Moz Local and Google+ Listing Issue
Hey Guys, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have already contacted the moz support team but they were no help. I am extremely disappointed with their service so far. Now to verify the listing on Moz Local, they say that you either fix the Google Listing or correct the CSV so it matches the Google listing. - I corrected the CSV to match the Google listing. Since the FAQ states that you can updated the listing at anytime by uploading an we CSV file, I did not see a problem with this. However, After contacting support they told me that the FAQ was incorrect and that you can't just update the CSV, you actually have to also manually update the Google listing. My Google local listing has the wrong information listed. We do not have control of this listing I have been trying to claim it, I have also already contacted Google Local help but it's a lost cause so far. So I am asking, How are you guys claiming your Google listings when the listings are already claimed. Also I have already been submitting changes to Google Map Maker but change keep getting denied. Any help is appreciated.
