Should my images on Pinterest point to the affiliate links or back to my site?
-
I have a affiliate site that involves handmade boots (i.e. cowboy boots, hinking boots, etc...). I currently put pics of them on my sites with a affiliate link. After I do this, I use the Pinterest browser button in chrome and add them to my Pinterest account. It adds these images to my Pinterest account with the affiliate link. Should I be doing this or should I be adding them to my Pinterest with links to my website?

Well it looks like links from Pinterest are nofollowed so I would link to the place that got me the highest conversion.
If you are not capturing any sort of email or running a retargeting campaign then I'd send the traffic from pinterest straight to the affiliate link.
But if you are building a retargeting list from people that land on your site and trying to collect email addresses by offering them something AND you are getting more sales because of your retargeting efforts and email blasts then I'd send the traffic from Pinterest to your website.

Anyone have any ideas?

Trying to link a Legacy Youtube account to a Google+ Page, the option isn't available...
Hello,
Social Media | | allstatetransmission
I am working on one of my clients projects and would love some advice before making some changes to their Google+ and Youtube account. We created the youtube account before Google+ and Youtube combined so we have a seperate name for the Youtube and Google+ Profile. They were created using separate emails, but both emails are managers of each others "account." We can't combine the two as it won't give me the option, only the option to create a new Youtube channel based on the Google+ Profile. But I already have videos loaded up on the Older Channel that I would like to keep and use for my current Google+ Profile. I have tried to disconnect the Youtube channel to hopefully get the option to link the two, but it just says it is a unavailable option. So my question is:
What advice do you guys have with any of this type of Youtube and Google+ mismatch profile/channels? I am not finding much online besides links to unattaching accounts but that is giving me a message saying that it isn't possible. Or would creating a new channel linked to the Google+ page and just reuploading the videos/transcripts be my best bet? Thank you for your feedback, and if you want anymore details (I know this description when not looking at the accounts might not be enough info, feel free to ask.) I really appreciate it. J0 -
How do search engines understand what social pages are official pages of my brand? If my Facebook page name is not my brand name (even though there are links from website to page and vice-versa) will that confuse search engines?
My question is about social shares, and how search engines understand what profiles are linked to what businesses?

How can I gain links by creating infographics and/or memes?
It seems that both infographics and memes seem to be popular methods of creating good quality links at the moment, but how can you actually gain links by using these? When people share the graphics they will need to put an extra link in back to you and obviously most will be via social media so will not be worth that much to Google? Do I need to email these out to blogs etc?

Looking for some link bait ideas for local businesses?
I own an agency and have several local clients. Particularly clients in the service areas - Window replacement company, Roofing company, Foreign Car repair company, and an Asphalt paving company. I really want to run some link bait campaigns, and would love any input you guys might have. Thanks in advance for your ideas:)

Whats the SEO value of getting Likes to your brand's Facebook Page (not your site's URLs being Liked)?
UPDATED: I meant to say SEO VALUE, not just business value Lets say I have a site - www.company.com, and I set up a Facebook Page - www.facebook.com/company. I understand the SEO value of having the domain www.company.com "Liked", using the FB Like button on my homepage lets say, or the same goes for individual pages - www.company.com/page. My question is rather about having my Facebook Page - Facebook.com/company "Liked". Are those likes counted by the engines as a strong signal that www.company.com should rank well? Or only that the Facebook Page - Facebook.com/company should rank well in searches for that company?

Quality link building methods??
I am getting more and more confused by the messages out there about "post Panda" link building methods. Apparently Google has devalued many of the old methods such as Article Marketing, Profile Linking, Web 2.0 content etc. But all I hear is that instead of that you must create "quality content" that users want to link to naturally. But hey.... how do users find your quality content if you don't already rank in the search engines?? Isn't it a bit chicken and egg? So, if I write what I think is a really good blog post or product page now, I can not really do anything to help it along in getting some decent rankings so that people will actually find the page and maybe link to it?? I also hear that "Social Signals" are becoming more important for rankings. Facebook likes and Google +1's Can anybody tell me how you encourage people to like and +1 the standard info pages of your website, like "Home Page" or "Service Page"? or is the future of search all about "commentary". Do I need to write a witty interesting blog post that appeals to masses that then links to my service or product page. Do I need to tweet to my non existent followers about a page I cant get ranked in the search engines? or blog "quality content" to no-one because I have no traffic coming to my website?? As you can probably tell, I am very confused with the messages, post panda. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me with the order of the new Search Marketing strategies. If I write a quality web page, then what? If I don't already have a traffic source either in Social Media or other related web pages, what is the best way to go about gaining rankings and traffic from search? Thanks
