I have multiple domains (more than 50) in the same niche. All domains are on the same ip. It is ok to link them together, or to create a piramid link between them?

Thank you all for the answers! I want to give you more details about the sites/domains. All of them have original content, but the majority are small sites, less than 10 pages and these ones to not provide such value to users. The sites are about wine, some sites offer information about all types of wine, other provide information about places to visit and buy, see, try wine, one is a portal and one or two are about wine cellars.

I know Goole knows that all domains are mine. I think reasonable and if a user comes to a site, why isn't ok to drive him on other site to find some other information? So you, as an user land on a page, and from that page i can drive you to my main site, which is an online shop that sells all types of wine.

If i let the links dofollow between sites/domains, it can be interpreted as a manipulative tactic for increasing the PR, but users will find other informations about that big subject - wine.

I know that Google disagree this tactic if your domains are not related and they are more than 2-3, maybe more, but ther information found on all sites is about the same thing, and they are so related.

I will wait more answers and points of view from you, guys!

You might want to put in one of your URLs here http://spyonweb.com/ and see just how easy it is for anyone to spot the servers that are on the same IP or that use the same Google Analytics or Google Adsense code. If we can do it that easily, so can Google.

What is your content like on these? Do you have enough content to make each site unique and standalone? Or is it worth the thought of combining some of them like others have mentioned?

It won't matter if the are on the same C block, IP, etc. if they are all registered to the same owner. Today Google even looks at ownership. The issue with doing as you suggest is that you will likely be found out and, even if not penalized, I would think your links won't be allowed to help you.
There are two possible ways to go where you could add value to each:
          1. As suggested by David, combine some of the sites where possible. Be careful with this and slow if you go this direction. Make sure you 301 redirect from URL on site A to similar on site B. For any one site, do not combine more than one other over 4 to 6 weeks. I would not combine more than about three sites to one. If some of the sites are low value, just get rid of them.

          2. Where reciprocal links are not of value, you might be able to offer a link from Site G for a link to Site F, etc. Again, I would suggest being methodical and not over doing it.

          Best of luck

I would stay well away from doing the above in terms of SEO. If you were going to do anything with the 50 domains, you would have been in a much better situation if they were on separate c-class IPs with private registration.

Interlinking these sites or creating a link pyramid are likely to (at best) have little or no SEO effect. However, you could link together if the different sites provide different value propositions for the visitor.

It may be a good time to consolidate some of these sites, more than 50 quality sites would be fairly difficult and costly to maintain.

It would not be a good idea to interlink them for SEO reasons as you mention "creating a link wheel/pyramid". I would ask these questions to myself: 1. Do all the sites have unique content ? 2. Do they have any duplicate/repurposed content at all between theme ? 3. Do uses on one website need to navigate to the other website, since it provides value to the user ? 4. Have you considered nofollow links ? This is a bigger strategy discussion that you have to do to figure out your next steps. If they don't provide too much of a value, how about you aggrgate the content on 1, maybe 2 or 3 combined sites instead of 50 and 301 the rest ? It's really difficult to answer further without knowing more in detail. I hope this atleast invokes some questions and a long term SEO strategy.

When conducting a link building strategy does it matter the country the link is from?

We are a UK business and if we have links mostly from US based blogs and websites does this penalise us.  The links are from relevant websites and topics.  Should we be focusing on .co.uk sites

                Spammy links

Hi Guys, I have a case which seems to occur more often for our customers. The websites of our customers seem to receive tons of backlinks from websites all over the world (China, Russia, Ukrain, etc). It’s spam we never asked for, we didn’t buy any dodgy linkbuilding packages or anything. Do any of you guys have experience with this matter? We try to disavow the links but it takes too much time and we will never manage to disavow 100% of all links. Examples are www.keukensduitsland.nl and www.m2beveiliging.nl Hope anyone has experience and maybe even solutions for this matter. Thanks!

Internal Linking - Post links vs Side Bar Links behaving differently

Hi, I have a question regarding the internal linking behavior.  My website is www.hindimeaning.com  which is approx 3 years old. I have approx 450 posts. Now i have a widget on right sidebar "Popular posts". A widget below my posts "Related Posts". And a simple html CSS menu above the posts (I removed menu around 6 month before so currently it will not show.) I crawled my site with moz crawler (same are the result from google crawler as well) and it shows menus links as internal links. While sidebar widget "Popular posts" and "Related Posts" are not showing as internal links. If we talk theoretically what i learn till now is "every link on a page behaves as internal link". Then why the widget links are not showing as internal links. Thanks, Mahesh Kumar

A link with "return false"- OSE sees as a No Followed Link

Hello, I couldn't find a clear answer to the impact on SEO for a link written in this way: [" class="expert_info" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">](w</span>ww.yourwebsite.com<span style=) [Does the "return false" act as a "no follow"? I came across this in our link data in Open Site Explorer which lists these links all as "no follows." However, an engineer I spoke to said that it shouldn't impact search engine behavior. Any ideas? Thank you in advance! -Sarah K.](w</span>ww.yourwebsite.com<span style=)

Linking to sites that link to porn or casinos, my site getting penalized?

I have some link exchanges with some sites to get web traffic but when i ran the bad neighborhood link checker, i found that one site links to some casinos and another site has one link to a porn site.  Is this getting me penalized?  should i remove the links to these sites? Thanks, Ron

Does blocking domains help remove bad links?

I have affiliate websites that are harming for one of 2 reasons: 1. They are on adult websites (and I don't want to be in a bad neighborhood) or 2. They are using a Frameset (so their content appears identical to mine and I am getting "credit" for all their junk links) I cannot get these websites to remove our links so I have blocked their IPs on our production firewall. Is this an effective method or should I do something else with these links?

                Domain Authority and nofollow links?

Hello, I'm wondering, are 'nofollow' links from websites with high domain authority beneficial? Would they boost our own DA? In essence, I'm wondering if there is added value (other than visitors clicking the link) to being linked to by a 'nofollow' link. Thanks!

Can link juice be passed in an iframe from domain A to domain B

Need to give our web partners our booking form which must be loaded in an iframe calling back to our domain. Is it possible to pass any link juice from their domain loading our iframe back to us. Was thinking of a "Powered by" text link in the form footer, but I'm guessing the link needs to be outside the iframe. Would love to hear any thoughts or workarounds on this.
