Lead With Branded Keywords or Descriptive Keywords in Page Title for (Niche) Site?

Our site is hingeheads.com, and our products and product catalog are unique in two ways.
For one our product is not something that people are generally aware of, and secondly our entire product catalog consists of different variations of the same product.

- Product Example: http://hingeheads.com/products/dolphin
I keep wondering if it is better to lead the title with "branded keywords" [1] or with "descriptive keywords" [2]?

I am currently going with the second solution, but I am always wondering if that's the right/better solution.
I am curious to hear feedback from people who have more experience with this than I do.
How would you structure the title for our product pages?

Nothing beats testing and experimentation. If you were my client, I would advise more of an 85% "hinge head" and 15% "hingehead" split across your product pages. This split aligns with the current search pattern.

I was wondering about the one vs. two keywords in the title So thanks for pointing that out!
I did notice the "hingehead" vs _"hinge head" _difference in our analytics. Would it be sufficient to create a single page (say a blog post) for each to address the different spellings? Alternatively, I was planning to split out "hingehead" and _"hinge head" _50/50 across all our product pages.

The first general recommendation I would make is to focus on a single keyword rather then multiple keywords. When you try to target multiple keywords you are unfocused and it will negatively affect your rankings.
Until you begin earning branded traffic, it does not help to put the brand first. If you sell "Nike Sneakers" then adding the recognizable and desired brand is helpful.
I love that you have created a unique product. "hingehead" has 73 global monthly searches whereas "hinge head" has 590 searches per month according to Google. Since your niche is so small, I would suggest targeting each term from different pages.
Another strong recommendation for you ==> Pinterest. I see your social engagement but Pinterest is about pictures and honestly I had no idea what a "hinge head" was until I saw your site. Now it makes perfect sense. In this case, a picture is worth more then 1000 words.

Are descriptive titles better?
I'm thinking about changing the page titles on my website and wanted to know if it is a good idea to help improve SEO! Using a page 'training and engagement' as an example (as is on the dropdown), the page title itself is actually 'Providing the skills to make the change stick.' each page on my website represents a different department, can I program the header to show a different meta description on each page or should there only be 1 meta description tag per domain?

Is it difficult to rank for a keyword phrase with an H2 halfway down the page?
If your competitor has a page that is optimized for a keyword (title tag, URL, content) and you target the keyword halfway down a page with an H2 and a short paragraph about the keyword, are you at a strong disadvantage?

Mentioning own site and keywords on here?
I have noticed that sometimes posters will talk about a site without mentioning what it is. I assume this is because it one of their clients so there is confidentiality, is there any other reason I should be aware of? its just that as I am new I am usually cautious and am considering posting my own site and mentioning all my keywords to ask for people’s verdict for my on-page SEO. What is the threshold for a page title to be considered duplicate?
We're trying to find out what percentage of words in a page title need to be the same for it to be considered duplicate? We have search results pages for each country on our site, so the only difference in the page title is the country name and they are all being flagged as duplicate, even though they are not 100% duplicate.

Brand keyword is on every page
Suppose a website is devoted to a selling a modest number of products that are sold under one brand name. For example, the site might have product pages for Chevy Camaro, Chevy Suburban, and Chevy Volt, and many other pages related to Chevy. Chevy is in the domain name and on virtually every page. Competitors are also selling Chevy's and you want to rank well on the keyword "Chevy". One SEO rule is limit a keyword to one optimized page, and if it appears on other pages, minimize the use of the keyword on other pages, and pass links to the optimized page. However, it can be really challenging to write prose without using the brand name, particularly if the brand name is of the form "brand training method" or "brand learning center". The other pages can't say "training method" or "learning center". They need to say "brand training method", etc. What are the tactics to rank for a brand name when it appears on virtually every page? Although meta description tags have no impact on rankings - can there be a negative effect from having many duplicate meta title + description tags with just 1-2 words switched out?
