Mechanical Turk for product re writing ? Ecommerce question.
-
We work with ecommerce clients specifically and many of them get duplicated content from their manufacturers. I've heard of people using the turk to outsource product re writing and am wondering if anyone here has had success?
Do you just get all the product descriptions re written and delivered in a CSV for uploading or have any of you developed a more automated approach?
How is the content quality been?
Thanks much!

I would highly recommend getting an individual to do it on elance. You can look at their ratings from previous projects and how much money they have made from this line of work. This way you can be sure that you are getting a proper writer to do this work. Additionally I would say - good job on the rewriting - this is necessary!

Re-directing blogs from an expired Hubspot account
We used hubspot for our blogging until 6 months ago, and had over 90 blogs on the hubspot subdomain "blog.site.co.uk". We've since reverted back to our own "site.co.uk/blog" but have noticed we no longer gain the traffic from the 90+ blog posts we put through hubspot. To get this content back onto our site thought i could simply relaunch it onto our own /blog site and use .htaccess to rewrite the old url to the new one. But hubspot keep the landing page "blog.site.co.uk" from re-directing to the new blog post. Questions: Has the original hubspot blog post gone from google index? Are there any other risks to re-posting this back to our site? Any advice on closing off the old blog post? Many thanks Matthew

Google penalty removal expert questions
We have searched online for a Google penalty “expert” (individual or company) and have located what appear to be “experts”. Please provide feedback on the following 2 individuals/companies we have found that can help with penalty removal. Have you or one of your clients used either of the “experts” below? What were the results? How many disavows and reconsideration requests did you/they have to make? 1.www.penaltypros.com . To give a quote and to see what your links are they use links from Google Webmaster Tools only. Penaltypros.com disavows first and then removes bad links second. This is opposite of what Google and Seo’s recommend but penaltypros.com claims 100% success using this non-traditional approach. See imgur.com link for screenshot. 2.http://www.hiswebmarketing.com/ To give a quote and to see what your links are they use links from https://ahrefs.com/ only. Please provide any and all feedback on the above 2 “experts” and also post the websites, individual names, company names of those that you consider Google penalty removal “experts” so that we may obtain a quote from them. Product Schema - Not supported if you don't actually sell the product online...
Based on this answer from Google, http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=146750 you can't use the product schema if a customer has to make the purchase offline or at another retailer. Does anyone know why they set it up this way? Has anyone ever tried to use product markup on a website when the product is purchased offline? Also, is there another solution or another markup that would apply? Thanks!

E-commerce shopping cart abandonment question!
I would like to know, in your personal experience what is the industry standard for shopping cart abandonment? Does it depend on the industry? Obviously I am not looking for the magic number because there is always room for testing and improvements. However, I do want to know what is the comfortable number that you can live with? Is it 50%, 60%?, 70%? Thank you in advance for your help.

How do I keep my question coming up to the top (first page) of SEOMoz?
I'd like to get more replies to my questions. I'm getting a decent amount of views. I'm making an offer and call to action. Do I need to just keep on tweaking the headline question? Or are SEOMoz'ers not necessarily looking for work?

Google Product Feeds - New Requirements
We are in the jewelry industry, and for Google product feeds, we list our products under "Apparel & Accessories > Jewelry". As of the new Google feed requirements, they are saying that we have to choose a gender and color for each product that is in the Apparel category. While this makes sense for clothes, it doesn't exactly for jewelry because many items are for both men and women, and there's not always a color associated with each product. I can enter some of these fields manually, but with 5,000+ products, it makes it difficult w/ each update. Anyone have solutions for this? Or a way around it? Can we just include those fields but leave them blank? Any other solutions?
