Lead generation advice - UK market
-
Hi
I am planning on setting up a lead generation website in a sector I know well and have a domain registered although its only a few weeks old.
I am looking for some insight and advice please to see it its worth doing. For example there are lots of payday loan (not my niche btw) lead gen sites in the UK at the moment but what do all of these sites do with all the leads they generate - who buys them and for what cost per lead?
I have done affiliate marketing in the past, but how does the lead gen process work.
Do you sign up with a lead gen affiliate style network that buys the leads generated off your website.
Or do you have to sell these leads on yourself? If so where do you sell them. I plan tobe operating in the UK

What is the market you are in, I am in car finance so I may be able to point you in the right direction

Hi Sean
That's great thanks, it's a shame they didn't have any sort of affiliate lead gen style platforms out there.

Hi
I would sell them directly to the end user, depending on what your niche is would depend on who you sell them to.
If to use your example you are doing lead gen for Payday loans I would contact all the loan companies and say something like
I have a site that is generating *** leads a month for loans from sub prime lenders such as yourselves I wish to supply you with these leads how much do you pay per lead?
They will have someone in their office who deals with this sort of thing (depending on how prevalent lead gen is in the industry) but the sort of things they will look at are your website and if you are keeping to industry terms of service (finance has lots of rules) and if you are attracting the right sort of lead.
I would offer to send them leads for a month (or a few weeks if you are generating a lot) so they can test the quality, remember it costs them money to follow up leads and if they do not convert they make no money.
I hope this helps
Sean
