-
I would love some helpMy anme is Suzanne Diamond our web site is WWW.thefutonshop.com we have been on line for years, 10 brick and mortar stores, had a strong ecommerce web site but in the past 4 months we have been dropping like a leaf.
Organic search has been dropping since November 2012 but now total traffic seems to be slowing
We are working on our SEO but I feel it has to be something more direct that we are being punished by google
Perhaps it s obvious but not to me
Can anyone help me please or give me a direction.

Hey Steve, what are you seeing? A loss on just a few big keywords or a more general loss?
-
We've had a similar problem at AdCracker.com, and I'm beginning to think it has more to do with Google algo changes rather than our site.
Marcus?

Hey Suzanne
I did some very simple searching and found no glaring or obvious problems.
-
no obvious heavy external duplication
-
link profile does not look overly spammy
-
you rank for a range of page titles in reasonable positions (3 / 4 etc)
I think we likely have some internal duplication
-
Google this: "Our Organic Cotton comes from Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative (TOCMC), the largest organic cotton cooperative""
-
The competition has a whole bunch more links than you
-
There is not really any content beyond the product pages themselves (which seem to be well put together)
_* Caveat that this was a 5 minute look! _
I had a look at several pages and products and found you searching for page related terms so I am not sure you have a problem as such. Could you possibly provide a bit more information?
- have you lost rankings or traffic (or both)
- are sales effected
- are there new competitors
- are competitors doing more on PPC
I find that you rank really well for a whole range of terms so if it is just some homepage terms it may be that a competitor is doing more marketing or that there is just more competition.
Would be interested to find out a little more or to dig into your analytics and see what is going on.
Hope that helps
Marcus

Before your rankings started dropped, was there any specific you were doing on your website in terms of SEO/Internet Marketing ?
Any Social Media stuff ?
I see your rankings were relatively much better same time last year. This year, it's been much worse. However, you have not fallen off completely.
Did you hire any SEO services ? Any link building ? Any Google unnatural links warnings ? The timing of your rankings dropping coincides with some updates last year.
Are you signed up and verified in Google Webmaster Console ?

Is there a way to get a list (backlink profile) of all tiny url's that point to my site or a competitors site?
I have noticed that most all links you find in all the major back link profile tools such as OSE or GWM, etc... do not show tiny url's. If there is a service that shows all the tiny urls pointing to your site, can someone please share. It has already been proven that tiny url's do pass link juice, so with that being said... if there is no way to find all the tiny urls that point to a site, wouldn't it be a great strategy to create all my back links with tiny url's to mask my profile from competitors? Thanks!

We noticed that goods offered in our email newsletters used to disappeared from first google search results page!?
We noticed that goods offered in our email newsletters used to disappeared from fisrt google search results page. Goods where in top 5 positions or even higher, but after email newsletters we didn't find them even in top 100. We suspect service provider of email sending is in blacklist? Could it be reason? If yes, how could we check that?

Are Wordpress sites being dinged by Google? Read a few articles regarding.
I read a couple "SEO" related articles that sites built in Wordpress are going to be dinged by Google because Google sees Wordpress sites as simple to make and a higher potential to be "spammy". Is there any truth to this? Your thoughts? I do give "thumbs up" and "best answer" marks and appreciate receiving thumbs up myself... Thanks

3rd Party Site Presence and Internet Marketing
An issue that I do not see discussed about much in Internet Marketing circles is the importance of establishing and developing a presence on third party sites other than through guest posting and I was wondering how much other internet marketers focus on this area and recommend this to clients. I see many people wanting hiring internet marketers basically for SEO and the KPI's on which they are judged are SEO based outcomes (higher alexa rank, number of page 1 keywords, number of top 1, top 3 keywords etc). I recently gave advice to someone who had very little time, very little money and very little SEO skills who wanted to rank in number 1 positions for their band for wedding and corporate bookings. I basically showed them sites that were highly positioned in the SERPs where they could get develop a strong online profile and how this would work better than investing 3 hours a month badly into SEO. Ultimately what businesses want is strong convertible leads and sales. For many businesses that might be better established particularly where budgets are tight through other elements whether it is Tripadvisor rankings, presence in other 3rd party sites or in an Ebay store than through SEO for their own site. Obviously for big brands with big budgets SEO is essential but as many keyword terms become increasingly competitive how important should referrals from 3rd party sites be in businesses internet marketing strategy and to what extent do you feel current internet marketing businesses identify and promote this need rather than simply working on improving ranking performance for keywords?

Google Trends - what did you do?
So is it me or did Google make some crazy changes - The "trends" are no longer anchored to appropriate articles etc... Why do you think they would remove something so useful to us? http://www.google.com/trends/ - check it out for yourself. tumblr_m5jh04D65G1ry8grko1_1280.png

Has there been any feedback from Google regarding their mass mail blunder?
I received a mail yesterday from a Joseph Middleswart from Google welcoming me to the beta trial for real time analytics. But my enjoyment at finally being able to see what's happening with real time data on my site was tempered by the 100+ spam mails I received immediatly after from some of the 200 odd people he'd included in the bulk mailing. Coming less than a week after Google tells us it's withholding keyword data from GA in order to protect the privacy of logged in users, I'm absolutely dumfounded at their incompetence. How can they show such a flagrant disregard for my privacy in introducing a new service while dressing up a restriction on another service as a security / privacy matter? Did anyone else fall victim to this incompetence?

Question on Google's Differentiation
Hi everyone, We have a short question that probably has a very long answer: What are all the ways that Google differentiates one search result from another? This is really important for us to know and, up until now, we can't find a really good and complete source that explains this. Thank you in advance.

How to remove a Google algorithmic penalty
My site has a Google penalty. I seem to be stuck in the 64th position for a Google search for my sites name. All my keywords that I used to rank well for are now well above the 60th search place in Google. I have resolved the issue I recieved the penalty for and I have asked Google for reconsideration. That has been about 3 months ago. The penalty is still firmly in place. I was wondering if anyone else has had a Google algorithmic penalty removed and if so how did they accomplish this?
