Cooking Recipes Blog Links
-
Hi,
I am running an ecommerce store - cookware, bakeware, knives etc...
I have someone I know personally that is a writer and one of her blogs is about cooking - lots of well established articles with keywords througout.
Is there any harm in getting some inbound links from her blog on certain keywords? If so, should I limit the number of outgoing links per article she has? Any guidelines?
Thanks!

Yes and no - you need to approach it conservatively.
Adding useful links throughout the website is fine. To be on the safe side, I would avoid using exact match anchor text frequently unless it's actually the page title. For example:
- A link on their site that says "best kitchen knives" pointing to your homepage at mikescookware.com is going to be bad.
- A link on their site that says "best kitchen knives" pointing to mikescookware.com/best-kitchen-knives/ is going to be better, but still pushing the line too far in my opinion.
- A link on their site that says "check out Mike's list of best kitchen knives available" pointing to mikescookware.com/best-kitchen-knives/ would be fine in my opinion.
After a certain point, each new link from her site isn't going to be quite as valuable as the first links were, purely from a link equity standpoint. However - each additional link could be providing value in terms of click-through traffic and actual visits to your site, which is just as important as any link equity that may or may not be passed.
As long as you're not dropping a link to your site from a significant percentage of the pages on her site, and you're mostly linking to internal pages of your site with resources or products rather than directly linking to your homepage, I think you're OK. I would go heavier on the resource/blog links than I would on product/category page links.
My end-of-the-day rule of thumb is that if it feels spammy to a stranger or looks like advertisements all through the site, you probably need to scale it back.

Is it safe to link my websites together?
Hi Everyone, I have 10 websites which are all of good standing and related. My visitors would benefit of knowing about the other websites but I don't want to trigger a google penalty by linking them all together. Ideally I'd also like to pass on importance through the links as well. How would you proceed in this situation? Advice would be greatly appreciated, Peter.

Wrong titles in site links
Hello fellow marketers, I have found this weird thing with our website in the organic results. The sitelinks in the SERP shows wrong written text. As in grammatically incorrect text. My question is where does Google get the text from? It is not the page title as we can see it. kKsFv0X.png

What are your thoughts on using Dripable, VitaRank, or similar service to build URL links too dilute link profile???
One of my sites has a very spamy link profile, top 20 anchors are money keywords. What are your thoughts on using Dripable, VitaRank, or similar service to help dilute the link profile by building links with URLs, Click Here, more Info, etc. I have been building URL links already, but due to the site age(over 12 years) the amount of exact match anchor text links is just very large and would take forever to get diluted.

Article Marketing For Link Building
Just wanted to get a discussion going about the effectiveness of article marketing for building links. All of my content will be decent and unique. I will submit to the following 10 directories: Ezine Buzzle Goarticles Article Dashboard Sooperarticles Helium Articlebase Articlealley Isnare Article City Of course, varied anchor text and relevant content to my various niches. I just want to know if this is still an effective link building strategy. Please don't recommend i "try" something else because i am doing everything else as well. Thanks guys

Linking to bad sites
Hi, I just have a quick question. Is it very negative to link to "bad" sites, such as online pharmacies, dating, adult sites, that sort of stuff? How much does linking to a "bad" site negatively affect a "good" site? Thank you.

Domain Links or SubDomain Links, which is better?
Hi, I only now found out that www.domain.com and www.domain.com/ are different. Most of my external links are directed to www.domain.com/
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | BeytzNet
Which I understand is considered the subdomain and not the domain. Should I redirect? (and if so how?)
Should I post new links only to my domain?0
