How can I deal with tag page duplicate issues
-
The Moz crawler reported some dupliated issues. Many of them have to do with tags.
Each tag has a link, and as some articles are under several tags, these come up as duplicate content.I read Dr Peter's piece on Canonical stuff, but it's not clear to me if any of these are the solution. Perhaps the solution lies somewhere else? Maybe I need to block the robots from these urls (But that seems counter-SEO-productive)
Thanks

Agree totally with Matt-Antonino.
This Moz post, by Dan Shure, was the one I found most helpful when trying to figure out how to index (or not index) pages and posts. http://moz.com/blog/setup-wordpress-for-seo-success
The post speaks specifically to Wordpress, but concepts are transferable to any implementation.

You are correct on blocking them in robots.txt This is the best way and while it seems counter productive for SEO, it's really not. You want to prevent too much dupe content from appearing. Say you have a page:
If the content on that is added to two tags:
yoururl.com/tag1/ (content appears as an archive item under this)
yoururl.com/tag2/ (same content, same type of archive item)
This is not as good for your SEO - it's better to block these tags (or not use them at all. They're only good for on-page user experience if your users are clicking them.)

Solving 'duplicate content' for page 2 of X for 1 blog post
Hi to all SEO wizards, For my Dutch blog google-plus-marketing.nl I'm using WordPress Genesis framework 2.0 with news theme pro 2.0 responsive theme. I love the out of the box SEO friendliness and features. One of those features is that it allows for a blog post or page to be divided into several pages. This results in MOZ signaling duplicate titles for all pages after the 1st page. Now I was thinking that a canonical url set to the first page should do the trick for me as I reason that the rank will go the the first page and the rest will not be seen as duplicates. Genesis does some good stuff on it's own and places the following meta tags in the header for the first page. All looks well and my question is about the same meta tags for the 2nd page and higher that I pasted below this one for the 1st page. Meta tags page 1 of X for blog post Meta tags page 2 of X for the same blog post Would it not be better to point the canonical url for page 2 till X to always point to the first page? In this case:

Have a Campaign, but only states 1 page has been crawled by SEOmoz bots. What needs to be done to have all the pages crawled?
We have a campaign running for a client in SEOmoz and only 1 page has been crawled per SEOmoz' data. There are many pages in the site and a new blog with more and more articles posted each month, yet Moz is not crawling anything, aside from maybe the Home page. The odd thing is, Moz is reporting more data on all the other inner pages though for errors, duplicate content, etc... What should we do so all the pages get crawled by Moz? I don't want to delete and start over as we followed all the steps properly when setting up. Thank you for any tips here.

My account recently got deactivated due to billing issues. I reactivated my account, but all of my campaigns are gone. Is there a way I can get back my campaigns without having to redo all of them??

Canonical URLs and Duplicate Page Content
My website (doctor directory) is getting a lot of duplicate page content & duplicate page title warnings from SEOmoz. The pages that are getting the warnings are doctors profiles which can be accessed at three different URLs. Problem is this should be handled by the canonical tag on the pages. So example below, all three open the same page: https://www.arzttermine.de/arzt/dr-sara-danesh/ https://www.arzttermine.de/arzt/dr-sara-danesh/gkv https://www.arzttermine.de/arzt/dr-sara-danesh/pkv Here's our canonical tag (on line 34): rel="canonical" href="http://www.arzttermine.de/arzt/dr-sara-danesh" /> So why is SEO moz crawling the page? We are getting hundreds of errors from this - and yet Google doesn't have any of the duplicate URLs indexed...

Duplicate Page Content and Title - Miva - How to fix?
Hi, I'm new to SEOmoz and just diving into it. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I use Miva Merchant as my storefront interface. SEMOz is returning a bunch of duplicate page content and duplicate page titles and I can't figure out what to do about it. It seems it may have something to do with Miva shortlinks. I click on the dup URL's in SEMOz and it brings me to a dead page. I can't figure out where it's coming from. I know without seeing the actual information it'll probably be tough to help me but any suggestions would be appreciated. I try to fix them and come to a point (after about three hours of getting nowhere) it becomes too frustrating. Thanks!
