Will a "no follow" "no index" meta tag resolve duplicate content issue?
-
I have a duplicate content issue. If the page has already been indexed will a no follow no index tag resolve the issue or do I also need a rel canonical statement?
-
Correct, you don't, but you don't want it ignored either. Use the canonical attribute to refer back to the original content and transfer authority and juice.
-
Actually, I don't want the duplicate page indexed. Will disallow robots.txt do the trick or do you still recommend the rel canonoical statement?
-
no follow will resolve juice being passed to it
no indexed will keep it from being indexed by SEs (not what you want)
Use the Canonical. Easy search on SEOmoz and search YouTube for Canonical to see Matt Cutts talk on this.
-
You need to use the rel=canonical statement to resolve the duplicate content issue.

Meta tags not being displayed for Mobile version of a blog even after the blog is indexed
I have updated the meta title and meta description for my blog. After updating the meta tags, blog URL was submitted in the webmasters and it has been crawled and indexed by Google but only for the desktop version and not for mobile version. Currently, meta tags are not being displayed for mobile version in Google. I have also checked with robots.txt file, there is no problem with this file. PFA screenshots for reference. Kindly help me out with this issue. eWu1k8N PdimKGq

Does a JS script who scroll automaticaly into pages could make some content "hidden" ?
Hello everybody, Sorry for my english (I'm French), I will try to do my best... We've got an e-commerce website : kumulusvape.fr
On-Page Optimization | | KumulusVape
On each categories, to improve our conversion rate, we put a javascript to automaticaly scroll into the page to the product list. You can see an example here : http://www.kumulusvape.fr/44-e-liquide-savourea-smookies This script scroll and make some content "hidden".
It's not really a scroll, just changing page position. Do you think that our h1 and our category content could be consider "hidden" by Google ? Thank you very much for your help0 -
Multi channel product descriptions & dupe content issues
Hi When filling in inventory files to upload to the likes of Amazon clients will usually be copying and pasting the product descriptions from the website product descriptions into the Amazon product description field Should they really be re-written to avoid dupe content issues ? I presume not since it is the official description of the product. Please note that i'm talking here about the manufacturers website/product descriptions and their own Amazon shop descriptions. So theirs is the original authoritative description. Cheers Dan

Which Meta Tags would you recommend having on the pages?
Hello, There are so many different meta tags which you can implement to the header of your website and I'm wanting to get people's opinions on which you feel are worth putting in and which are completely pointless? For example: Author Copyright Language Content-Type Content-Language Distribution Abstract Keywords Description Classification Canonical Expires Revisit-after Rating I look forward to hearing your comments and suggestions. Issues with Product Pages Getting Index In Google
I just started working here the other week and one of the big issue is that a lot of the product pages are not getting index in google. We have an xml.gz site map they submitted a long time ago. My guess is it might be something with not enough content on the pages? Here are a few example of pages that are not getting index in google. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/-/439/716/-/33097/Alpinestars-Dual-Motorcycle-Gloves http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/47/-/201/803/-/28948/Camelbak-Blowfish-2013 http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/46/-/203/836/-/6996/MSR-Head-Case http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/44/54/208/764/80/1220/Galfer-Brake-Pad-Sintered-Metal There are 100's that are not indexed just trying to figure out what we need to do! We are working on new content to them all but we have over 5000 products so it will take a long time. We also have the reviews on the pages and are looking at starting a Q&A on page to help get more unique content.

Do videos count as duplicate content?
If we allow users to embed our videos on their site, would that count as duplicate content? I imagine note, given that Google can't usually 'see' the content of videos, but just want to double check.

Mobile vs Website Duplicate Data / Meta
SeoMoz is reporting duplicate content, title tags, and other meta information and seems to be showing that my mobile site (located on m.website.com) is a duplicate of website.com I was figuring I could add "Mobile SiteName" to the title to avoid the duplicate title but am a little confused as to how to approach the duplicate content side of it
