Too many iframes hurts ranking?
-
I have 6 different iframe blocks (with same content in those iframes) in every page of my website. I know iframe don't be crawled by search engines but, maybe you experts give me some advice?
Is that negative for SEO ?
-
Hi There,
First of all, let me clear one point- **Google supports frames and iframes but to the extent that it can. **this means, Google does not support frames and iFrames completely.
However, Google is often capable of crawling iFrames on webpages if the iFrames are SEO-friendly. In fact, Google is capable of passing link juice via iFrames (read more about it here- https://www.seroundtable.com/google-iframe-link-14558.html).
In my personal opinion, _**avoid ****using iFrames if you can, **_because they are not 100 percent SEs friendly. If it is required then you should take the effort to make iFrames as Google-Friendly as you can. Here are few tips for that:
-You can index your iFrame trough robots.txt
- use Google web master tools to add the URL of the iframe source to be crawled. However, this will only index the iFrame and not the parent HTML document. So it won't score high on the Search Engine Result page.
-if you have frames on the master page of your website, to ensure Google crawls the entire website, ensure that you include links to other pages within the website inside the no frames area of the master page.
- ensure your main or surrounding page highlights more when it comes to search engines. It’s best not to make your main page simply a placeholder for one iFrame or even multiple iFrames.
-Try to move as much info as possible from iFrames to the main page. Overall, your main page should at least describe the content within the iFrames.
_- I_f you want the iframe to be indexed by google, include a link from the parent page to the iframe page.
- Add meta tags to the master page. However, meta tags are only a partial solution, because not all the search engines support them.
Most search engine spiders will only see the master page. Just like an old browser, they don't understand the instructions on how to produce the frame layout. These are ignored, and only information within the noframes tags is read. so use noframe tags also.
Apart from this, I would recommend you to read the following article as well- http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2064573/Search-Engines-and-Frames
Hope this will help!

Thank you for Good Answer

i am using them for static text content "about us" and "client testimonials" those iframes got some java, jqueries and texts.
-
nopsts,
It's not going to hurt your site to have all those iframes but the content within the iframes will not help you in any way, either. If you have plenty of good content on those pages in addition to what's in the the iframes, it's a positive for you. However, you're out of luck if you are counting on the content in those frames to help you in any way.

You are already answering it yourself a little. iFrames are really bad practice and can through-off search engine bots. If you say the content in the frames are all the same a few alarm-bells go off as well. Why would you want to use frames anyways? maybe you can clarify that a little or show us a the example so we can make the advice a little specific what to do next.

301 Redirect - Rank Recovery Examples?
Hi All, I recently did a 301 redirect. Page to Page and the notified google via its console. Its been 6 days since. The home page and one other high traffic page swopped out with the new domain on google search index with 3-4 drops in ranking for each. The rest of the sites pages have been indexed but still reflect the old domain when searched. Recently today my home page dropped even further to the second page of google index for the specific keyword. Can you share similar experiences and how long it took you to recover rank fully? and how long for all pages to swop out on google search's index? Regards Mike

Could another site copying my content hurt my ranking?
Earlier this week I asked why a page of mine might not be ranking locally. (https://moz.com/community/q/what-could-be-stopping-us-from-ranking-locally). Maybe this might be part of the answer – another firm has copied huge chunks of my website copy: **My company: **https://idearocketanimation.com/video-production-company/ The other company: http://studio3dm.com/studio3dm-com/video/ Could this be causing my page to not rank? And is there anything I can do about it, other than huff and puff to the other firm? (Which I am already doing.)

Does cache-control : private hurt SEO?
Hi, I recently found I can no longer view our web pages in Google's cache. I get 404 errors. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache%3Ashop.nordstrom.com%2Fc%2Fwomens-shoes&rlz=1C1GGRV_enUS751US751&oq=cache%3Ashop.nordstrom.com%2Fc%2Fwomens-shoes&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.3575j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 I did a fetch and render in Search Console and found our header includes a "cache-control: private" entry. The 404's started happening recently. Would this response be the culprit? If Google cannot cache the website, is this bad for SEO? On the surface of it, it sounds bad.

Ranking 1st for a keyword - but when 's' is added to the end we are ranking on the second page
Hi everyone - hope you are well. I can't get my head around why we are ranking 1st for a specific keyword, but then when 's' is added to the end of the keyword - we are ranking on the second page. What could be the cause of this? I thought that Google would class both of the keywords the same, in this case, let's say the keyword was 'button'. We would be ranking 1st for 'button', but 'buttons' we are ranking on the second page. Any ideas? - I appreciate every comment.

Subpage ranking for homepage keyword
Hi all, May seem like a simple scenario and I might be missing something, but my subpage seems to be ranking for my main homepage keyword. The subpage PR is 28 and my domain authority is 17, how can I get my main home page to rank instead of the sub page (product page)? I want to stay away from exact match anchor text links, any suggestions?

Too many 301 redirects?
Hey, My company currently has one chief website with about 500-600 other domains that all feature the same material as the chief website. These domains have been around for about 5 years and have actually picked up some link traffic. I have all of these identical web-pages utilizing rel=canonical but I was wondering if I would be better served, from SEO purposes, to 301 redirect all of these sites to their respective pages on our chief website? If I add 500 301 redirects, will the major search engines consider this to be black-hat link-building even though the sites are related and technically already feature the same content? For an example, the chief website is www.1099pro.com and I would 301 redirect the below sites to the chief site: 1099softwarepro.com 1099softwarepro.info 1099softwarepro.net 1099softwarepro.biz 1099softwareprofessionals.com 1099softwareprofessionals.info ...you get the point
