I want to know how which pages on my competitors websites are the most popular based on the traffic volume. I do not care how many links or directed to that page or any other metric. Only thing I am looking for is the traffic volume. It would also be nice to know the length of time spent on that page.

Also one more thing you can look into is http://www.alexa.com/ whilst not 100% its a good starting place for finding some popularity on sites (using data from people etc.)

Worth a look at for some indicators but most of the time you're going to be working with guess work i'm afraid.

        Hi ,

I can see you already got great answer from Ryan & answer endorsed by moz staff Erica. If I am permitted I would like to share one post that I have found on inbound.org .

Finding the exact numbers on this will probably be unlikely without access to their analytics, but you can get a guesstimate by seeing which of their pages are used as site links when you search for their brand in Google. You can also derive some guesses via search rankings by dividing out a percentage of clicks based on ranking from total search volumes.

Still, you're going to be missing a lot of data by not knowing how well they're doing in terms of email marketing, social, referrers, etc.  Companies that try to accomplish this are ones like Compete and Quantcast.  A better way to go about finding popularity by topic though would be to use a tool like Google Trends, Twitter Trending, etc.

As for time on page, why?  You'll be better off focusing all your efforts there on your own site's usability, experience and customer satisfaction.

            What Exactly is traffic lift?

            keyword rankings traffic

Under the keyword gap analysis under the competitive analysis report, there is a mention of traffic lift and it provides a number. Does the number represent the number of users or the number traffic to expect for that term? Or is it the positions?

How can I track where visitors go after exiting my website?

I don't want to track external links. I just want to know where they go when they leave. Is that possible? Can I do this with a cookie?

            Traffic Data for Competitor Subdomain

Does anyone know of a way to get monthly visitor data for a subdomain that I do not manage?  I would normally use SEMRush or Compete, but they only provide domain level data.

            Do unindexed pages affect SEO?

Been looking at a couple of sites recently. I've seen that they contain a couple of 'default' pages from the build process. These pages aren't of any significance to the main site and as such aren't actually linked in anywhere.
I did a site:www.example.com search on google and as expected the pages aren't indexed. Could these page be have a negative affect on SEO in the future?
Even though they aren't indexed or linked in anywhere. I look forward to you responses...

Does TrafficEstimate.com provide accurate traffic statistics?

When comparing traffic data for my own sites and others, I see very large discrepancies between Google Analytics, Google AdPlanner, Compete, TrafficEstimate.com - TrafficEstimate.com used to be a great way to get data on other websites' traffic, but now they don't seem to show data for international sites, and the data matches very closely to other sources for some sites and not close at all for others (200% differences). Does anybody have experience with the accuracy of TrafficEstimate.com? Does anybody have experience with the accuracy of Google AdPlanner traffic data?

Different SERP results in browsers / different result pages for keyword in browser

Hi, I am making the SEO reports for a travel agency  and I have the following problem. SEOmoz shows me the website is on page 1, for a keyword. Yesterday, a google search with firefox showed me the same position, while, searching from a different computer on google using firefox gave me another position. The URL shown was also different. I asked some friends to do the search - the results were the same - first page. Today, firefox shows me the second URL on the 4'th page, and the result from the first page of google does not appear, while Chrome still shows me the first URL on the first page. I have no idea why the URL that was ranking well does not appear on the first page with Firefox, and why it appears on the first page with Chrome, or why the URL that was ranking bad -meaning page 4, appears on Firefox but does not appear on Chrome. Can someone give me some advice?

My competition is using 1px images and links without anchor text. Good or bad idea?

I've been scoping out some of my competition and I noticed the number 1 ranking site is doing a lot of "interesting" stuff.  I saw a bunch of 1px blank images that they must be using for the alt tag keywords.  I also noticed several links to internal pages with different keywords without anchor text so they don't actually appear on the page.  Is this considered black hat?  Should I be doing something similar?  It feels like the work I'm doing to try to rank #1 with a clean/professional looking site are wasted when the #1 sites are doing things like this.

Creating Sub Pages To Target Specific Keywords

Hi Guys, Hope you can answer this question. Our website is currently on the first page in position 6 for a competitive keyword, domain is 11years old and currently has a PR of 4. At the moment there are 4 competitors above us one of which as two listings, they have managed to do this by creating a page dedicated to the keyword. E.g www.ourdomain.co.uk/key-word.html. Do you think we would achieve a good ranking if we built the same page but with fresh content and links pointing to that page? Cheers.
