MOZ Pro Has Not Helped Yet. What is Going On?
-
A month ago I started using MOZ and I improved my website significantly. I reduced the Crawl Issues to few of them, improved the sitemap, url, etc. Unfortunately, my organic search has not improved at all. At the same time one of my competitors has the same Domain Authority, near the same Page Authorizaty, relatively similar social media performance, slightly higher backlinks, same blog content, etc.
BUT, they are better ranked by Alexa.com, Similarweb.com and appear on google in top 10 for many of the keywords I am not even in top50. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Tony,
SEO can, frankly, be frustrating. As others have noted here, it takes time, even if you do everything by the book.
Have you ever used the Keyword Difficulty Tool in Moz Pro to run a competitive analysis? It might give you some insight. There's a video on it here.

Since SEO consists of around 200 different variables, there are many things you could be doing wrong and there are many things you could be doing better.
While taking a look at your site, I found a handful of things that jumped out at me.
- You Blog Titles are H5 tags - **This is a problem - **Google looks for an H1 tag to identify what the article is about. Its good that you have a blog on the site as it will aid your efforts in getting organic search traffic. You need to optimize the blogs to target the keywords that your intended site visitors would type into the search bar. Like - 3d model blueprint, 3d printers, purchase 3d designs, sell 3d designs, and more. Try to put your most highly valued keyword first as the keywords are given weight by their order, first - most valuable and last - least vauavle.
- Use more H1 - H5 tags to create a hierarchy for your articles which will help your SEO
- Use more images in your articles, with appropriate alt tags and optimized meta data (filename, alt tag, descrition, captions)
- Create more interlinking structure from your blog to your products pages, and to other blog articles on your site, do this while using semantically relevant alt text which will aid search engines in associating your domain with other semantic concepts.
- Think about implementing schema.org, open graph protocol, twitter cards, and microformats. This will increase the semantic understanding of Google's bot crawlers.
- Check the Search Council for Crawl Errors, I tried to crawl your site but got denied, you might be doing this to Google's bots. I used Screaming Frog SEO but the site wouldn't respond, maybe this is by design, just wanted to bring it to your attention
Email me at larionovdmitri@learninternetgrow.com if you want to schedule a time to have a more in depth discussion.

Hi,
Thanks for your message.
We run a website for 3D printable models called Threeding.com. The website has existed for two years and the content is quite good. We have thousands of models, regular articles in the blog but still we are far away from key keywords such as <3D printing models>, <3D Printable models>, <3D print designs> etc.
So, it is really frustrating to do everything by the book and we lack behind the main competitors with similar platforms.
That's the reason for my question.
Regards,
Tony

Hi Tony,
Most important thing about SEO is time. It takes (a lot of) time but: hard work pays off! Im now using Moz for 4 months and it is helping me to focus on the right things and optimize my shop.
With Search Console you should be able to see links and visibility in the SERP's quicker. Combined with MOZ you have a good setup for building good quality traffic.
Good luck!

What am I doing wrong?
It sounds like you have tuned up your website and have improved its condition. That is the minimum entry fee for good website performance.
Now that you have done the basics, the best way to improve your organic performance is to get new high quality content on the site that is better than your competitors have published for the same topic. If you have the ability to produce content that is shared spontaneously by your visitors then you can spend all of your time producing more content. If you don't have that ability then you will have to promote it or hire someone to kick it up a notch.
-
It's hard to make a judgement without seeing/comparing your website to your competitors. The types of backlinks, age of the content or even the content itself could be enough of a reason to outrank you.
How old is your website and what keyword are you trying to rank for?

URL Structure Category Pages -Current Moz Friday-
Hello,
On-Page Optimization | | _Heiko_
regarding #15 of the last moz friday I have a question: http://moz.com/blog/15-seo-best-practices-for-structuring-urls What would you prefer if the lenght of the URL will be still under 60 characters and you have an example like this: Let's call it a specific page in a category. As I like the old shoe examples: You have a page about red shoes in your shoe category. Which URL would you prefer: a) www.mydomain.com/shoes/red-shoe b) www.mydomain.com/shoes/red Personally I would prefer a) or would you already consider this as spammy? My real example is not that trivial like the shoe example and the categories will be in plural and the specific pages always in singular (like in the example shoes vs shoe). c) would be to put it independently from the side structure on www.mydomain.com/red-shoe - but personally I have the experience that a) or b) will help the rankings of the category page if you have the specific pages in the same subfolder. What's your opinion on this?1 -
Massive increase in Moz crawl.
I have a subdomain which has just started to be crawled by Moz, Previously this wasn't the case. The sub-domain had 16,000+ issues. Why has Moz started to count sub-domains as part of the main domain, has Google started to do this aswell?

Broken Links/Images Non Optimized Content Help
Hello, After 4 years of incorrect blog creation and 4000 blog posts I have seen the light. I have implemented a new theme, SEO friendly, based on a yoast website report and have been creating timeless blogs with correct structure. However, I have 5400 broken links and images based on the Broken Link Checker. Additionally, of our 2500 blog posts which are on app reviews, only 500 are optimized so I have been painstakingly been going through each to optimize, while balancing new content output. The trouble is Google is seeing massive changes and we are tumbling in search. Any suggestions on how to approach this as it is my understanding that the broken links/images are doing considerable damage to our website overall. the website is crazymikesapps.com thank you Mike

SeoMoz Pro - Keyword stuffing but its a forum
hiya guys Just going through the Seomoz Pro on page thing One of the flagged items is keyword stuffing, I have 22 keywords (stuffed) but they want it down to 15, the thing is, my website is a forum. and the keyword stuffing is from the title name of each categories eg its a nightlife forum so Birmingham nightlife forum Brighton nightlife forum Leeds nightlife forum Manchester nightlife forum u get the picture To avoid this keyword stuffing, should I change some of the forum names to eg leeds nightlife forum > leeds nightlife forums? just by adding the 's that will half the keywords, but its not solving the problem in the long run, if i was to add more cities and areas with the XXXX nightlife foru. What you reckon guys? Cheers guys Luke

How to go after a domain name when the whois info is incorrect.
I found a domain that I'd really like to buy. It's currently active but has just a single image on it (that links to an affiliate product). I'd like to see if the owner would like to sell it to me. But, when I emailed the address that's listed with the whois info it bounced back. Any ideas on how else I can buy this domain?
