How long to re-index a page after being blocked

Morning all!
I am doing some research at the moment and am trying to find out, just roughly, how long you have ever had to wait to have a page re-indexed by Google.
For this purpose, say you had blocked a page via meta noindex or disallowed access by robots.txt, and then opened it back up.
No right or wrong answers, just after a few numbers

In my experience, it took from a day to roughly 5-6 weeks. All of them just naturally re-indexed, I didn't use any gas indexer nor adding them with the search console add to index tool.

Two stories...
One of my competitors has their site redesigned about once a year. Twice in the past three years their designer tossed the new site up with noindex on every page.
We notice right away but it usually takes them a week or two to figure out what's happened. When the remove the noindex the site returns to normal in a few days.I noindexed a folder of 80 thin content pages immediately after Panda 2.0 in April, 2011. I allowed the pages to be open to visitors because they had some good photos and data tables on them. The site escaped in the Panda 2.1 about a month later.
Then, I started publishing same-topic articles on the same URLs, using all of the original content that was noindexed. When the article is finished, I remove the noindex. A new articles has the noindex removed about once a month. (It takes a long time to republish 80 pages at the rate of one a month.)
These URLs reside two clicks from the homepage on a long-established and reasonably powerful site. When I remove the noindex the amount of time for the page to start ranking can vary from hours to several weeks. A few times I went into the code to see if I forgot to remove the noindex - and I had not forgotten. Some of these page go right to the top of google for competitive terms. Others have trouble getting reindexed even though we point internal links to them on many parts of the site. We have waited a couple of months for some to be reindexed.

Rel canonical tag from shopify page to wordpress site page
We have pages on our shopify site example - https://shop.example.com/collections/cast-aluminum-plaques/products/cast-aluminum-address-plaque That we want to put a rel canonical tag on to direct to our wordpress site page - https://www.example.com/aluminum-plaques/ We have links form the wordpress page to the shop page, and over time ahve found that google has ranked the shop pages over the wp pages, which we do not want. So we want to put rel canonical tags on the shop pages to say the wp page is the authority. I hope that makes sense, and I would appreciate your feeback and best solution. Thanks! Is that possible?

Page with metatag noindex is STILL being indexed?!
Hi Mozers, There are over 200 pages from our site that have a meta tag "noindex" but are STILL being indexed. What else can I do to remove them from the Index?

Can noindexed pages accrue page authority?
My company's site has a large set of pages (tens of thousands) that have very thin or no content. They typically target a single low-competition keyword (and typically rank very well), but the pages have a very high bounce rate and are definitely hurting our domain's overall rankings via Panda (quality ranking). I'm planning on recommending we noindexed these pages temporarily, and reindex each page as resources are able to fill in content. My question is whether an individual page will be able to accrue any page authority for that target term while noindexed. We DO want to rank for all those terms, just not until we have the content to back it up. However, we're in a pretty competitive space up against domains that have been around a lot longer and have higher domain authorities. Like I said, these pages rank well right now, even with thin content. The worry is if we noindex them while we slowly build out content, will our competitors get the edge on those terms (with their subpar but continually available content)? Do you think Google will give us any credit for having had the page all along, just not always indexed?

Should I set up no index no follow on low quality pages?
I know it is a good idea for duplicate pages, blog tags, etc. but I remember somewhere that you can help the overall link juice of a website by adding no index no follow or no index follow low quality content pages of your website. Is it still a good idea to do this or was it never a good idea to begin with? Michael

Should my back links go to home page or internal pages
Right now we rank on page 2 for many KWs, so should i now focus my attention on getting links to my home page to build domain authority or continue to direct links to the internal pages for specific KWs? I am about to write some articles for several good ranking sites and want to know whether to link my company name (same as domain name) or KW to the home page or use individual KWs to the internal pages - I am only allowed one link per article to my site. Best practice for removing indexed internal search pages from Google?
Hi Mozzers I know that it’s best practice to block Google from indexing internal search pages, but what’s best practice when “the damage is done”? I have a project where a substantial part of our visitors and income lands on an internal search page, because Google has indexed them (about 3 %). I would like to block Google from indexing the search pages via the meta noindex,follow tag because: Google Guidelines: “Use robots.txt to prevent crawling of search results pages or other auto-generated pages that don't add much value for users coming from search engines.” http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35769 Bad user experience The search pages are (probably) stealing rankings from our real landing pages Webmaster Notification: “Googlebot found an extremely high number of URLs on your site” with links to our internal search results I want to use the meta tag to keep the link juice flowing. Do you recommend using the robots.txt instead? If yes, why? Should we just go dark on the internal search pages, or how shall we proceed with blocking them? I’m looking forward to your answer! Soft 404's from pages blocked by robots.txt -- cause for concern?
